I like Twinkie in her older age. She's more daring and risky! She'll try ANYTHING!!!!! And I think that's so bold!!! Plus she has this new shrill/sharp/piercing element to these high notes that is just amazing to me.
Yeah that choir disciplined and knows their director well.
Every church needs a director like that sister. She has so much class. I love it.

@@chubbychuckle Your point???? Yes she sang it a lot but that's most definitely not what she's known for. She's known for her impact on Gospel music in general. Either way, Twinkie wrote it and the Clark Sisters recorded it on "Unworthy" in 1976.

Bishop Graves, God Rest his Soul! So thankful for his mark left in the earth. Everything he touched, left his mark of quality! ALL HIS CHOIRS can SANG! Gesh..., anointed to train and equip the body of Christ spiritually and musically, It brought joy to my heart and tears to see and hear him playing the organ. Now Twinkie..., SHE DRIPS the anointing. Love the purity of her voice. LOVE HER!!!

This is very good on all points. Twinkie (like her mom) does have a certain ability to sing above her range with effectiveness. That Directress...WHOA!!!! A-1!!! Bishop is KILLIN' that organ. The choir?!!! SINGIN'!!!!
Really? I know they they were good when I was growing up because they came to my church sometimes. I enjoyed them at the national convocation. Now, now so much. They've gotten older and can't do it like they used to, but I still like to hear them, now and then. Twinky has lost it more than them all. I'm cool with admitting that. I'm tired of the Clark sisters at times and it's a spirit of idolatry that comes over them in the last several years. However, to each is own.

She has her day and it was good, but she and they aren't as great as one once was. I love her. She is one of my spiritual Kingman and child of our beautiful international church, but let's face the truth. When father time slaps you on the but, you lose a few things.

Awesome Apostle, choir directress, choir, and church. Psalmist Twinkie is as great as it gets. She looks quite different with that weight loss but her voice is still awesome. Thank you very much for sharing this with us on YT.

J Reed Minstrel indeed. Could you imagine how many times folks had her on repeat (live) squalling and pulling notes from ever where then going to talk about her because her voice has been stretched and not given proper rest . I always say Twinkie has nothing to prove. Drop an octave and talk your original songs if you want to Twink! 🙌 phenomenal woman of God !

@stmark93 I keep trying to tell people. They steady trying to count Twinkie out, and then she comes down with something that amazes everybody. Her voice is different, but she is still Twinkie and she still got a few things up her sleeve.

IMO I think that this is historically was not one of the songs that she led. Her mother (2 high for her range but still beautiful) or Karen (comfortably in her range) would lead this song. And if you listen to Twinkie when she sings this she always tends to sing it in the upper part of her range befitting the original song. As she has gotten older her upper range has started to sound a little more forced. But it's Twinkie and from the moment she opens her mouth the annointing flows like a river.
These sisters are bad BUT Twinkie, Twinkie, Twinkie does something with a choir that's just different. SMH 🙌
She does most of her songs in the original key... And there is only two octaves to sing this partcular song in... If she took the lower octave it would too low.
GET IT RIGHT EVERYBODY I LOVE TWINKIE CLARK BUT HER VOICE HAS BEEN THROUGH GREAT CHANGES 4 REAL. LETS BE REAL IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TWINKIE YOU SHOULD KNOW SHE COULD BLOW. ITS A NEW SOUND NOW, A NEW LOOK, ALMOST A NEW PERSON. BUT I LOVE HER SO MUCH JUST BEING HONEST.
I really wonder why she is trying to singer louder and higher than she ever has before. And to me some of her best vocal moments were not necessarily high notes or anything like that. it was the runs. It's not the range that is the missing thing for me at all. Where are the creative crazy runs she used to do....? This performance was good but i think her and karen both need to learn a less is more approach to singing in your 50's. I still love them very much though
