It's good to see Power Swords doing what they should do, cutting through armor like a hot knife through butter. It's always up to the fans to make the good stuff when it comes to WH40k movies.
DarkZholt indeed :) however, power swords dont normally cut through an wntire body with such ease. The only reason it did here, is because its a sword from "30k", called a paragon blade.
I love how the Space Marines aren't depicted as slow, lumbering, and super heavy soldiers in this. Rather they are terrifyingly quick and brutal, I really had to focus on the movements of the duelists which was really awesome. Can't wait for this!
Soul Drinker Chaplain And survived to tell her son how they lived thanks to the Loyalist Space Marines protecting them from the Traitors and he's inspired to join their ranks when he's old enough to repay them for saving his mother's life and himself.
This...this is the first depiction of an astartes I’ve ever seen that actually depicts how they move, fight, and look! I can not wait to see more of this!
Carter Gates and you will see more of this. This is being done to honor the many years and hard work of the very people that created and added to the hobby that we love so much. The combat depiction is to stay true to the works of the Black Library Teams over the years. It is to support the hobby and the fans of this hobby by fans of the hobby. Cheers!
I mean, it doesn't make sense for anything to be called heresy DURING the 30k times. Because the Imperium was so anti-religious - you weren't allowed to worship anything. So that was a mistake.
Voice of the mother here!! Thank you guys for doing such a wonderful job, I can't wait to see re recorded lines in the final animation! MY brother and his friend said this is the best Warhammer they have ever seen and that you did an excellent job portraying the size of the Space Marines and Terminators! Keep up this amazing work!!!
Marines InSpace Hear hear. Sadly the Space Marines seemed to have forgotten of this important lesson and have harmed more innocents than protecting them especially with some outright lacking empathy and had contempt against weaklings for them.
I really like the running animations for the World Eaters in particular. They're not simply running with haste, but they're running in a manner that in my opinion really brings out their wild and reckless bloodlust.
"Take me from my home, and I will sail to the stars of your empire. I will serve as a son must serve. But let Colchis stand as I have shaped it: a planet of peace and prosperity." Goosebumps every time I hear this part. Lorgar was of all the Primarchs the closest to being human.
I love how fast the space marine combat is. This is exactly as they are described in the fluff, stupid quick relative to a human and I think this shows that well.
The scene that hit me most is 1:23. War always happens in 40k and thousands of lives are always lost like leaves in the wind but to be in the shoes of the ones that are always treated as collateral damage. The feels, man
The attention to detail, the weighty movements of the Terminators, the berserk charge of that World Eater, even the shots of Legio Audax's Warhounds on the march.... truly the Emperor has blessed us!
When the sky was full of drop-pods and ships I thought I lost my shit. Then those terminators rolled in an I thought I already lost my shit. and then those Contemptors strolled in an i had no more shit to lose, so I lost my sanity! love this man keep up the work
Chills. And tears of joy. The Terminators with their void shields just going forward. The Ulltramarine Champion. The speed. The camera work. The dreadought tease. What an amazing piece that captures the intensity and horror of 30/40k.
I can perfectly understand why the dreadnought said WHAT IS THIS HERESY!?.Because i imagine that the last time he was awaken was to fight xenos, in the great crusade of the emperor, with all of the legions loyal to the emperor. But now... He has been awaken and he have understand 9 of the 18 legions have betrayed the emperor, with their 9 primarch, pacific worlds being raped by traitors astartes that completely have forgotten their oaths about protect and serve in the name of the emperor. He( the dreadnought) realize that the hole Emperor's work is in great dangerous cause the ones that once swore to serve him like only children can serve the father. That's why he screamed, full of anger( cause he will never forgive what his once called brothers have done) and SADNESS( cause their were...once...his brothers...and he can't understand how everything deteriorated so quickly, how everything went wrong so quickly). That is why i think he screamed WHAT IS THIS HERESY. PD:Excuse my bad english please. :'V
ulises666 666 Poor guy, no wonder he lost his shit and went on a rampage on the Traitors. All of the hard work to bring all of humanity under one banner of unity by the Emperor and protect them from all threats in the Great Crusade had been reduced to nothing but blood and dust by Traitors and Heretics.
What? I was under the impression that he was the Ultramarine captain from earlier. That's why the Tech marine said "rise", because he had just been interred in a Dreadnought. The trailer is a little confusing though, I was under the impression that the man speaking in the trailer is actually Lorgar from back during the Great Crusade because he says "But let Colchis stand as a planet of Peace and Prosperity". Colchis was the Word Bearers homeworld, and Roboute Gulliman and the Ultramarines burned down Monarchia, its capital, under orders of the Emperor. That's why the Word Bearers had a bone to pick with the Ultramarines. It's sort of showing that the attack was essentially revenge.
1:402:05 is that the same scene from different angles? That is quality attention to detail right there. Holy goodness. I think it is the captain that is running on the background on 2:05
Apologies to those who had a hard time with the audio in the previous version. People watching through their TV had some issues hearing the voices, hope this helps! Alright.... I need some rest.... Holy cow...
Good job, once again! You are inspired by the novel "Honour to the dead" aren't you? With the Ultramarines in Civil Protection. Perfect marine size. Michael Bay's battle choreography and Transformers' synthetic grunts are a little weird but it's okay. Poor NPCs civilians!
You can hear Teachmarine activating him 2:47 Brother Malectus,Brother Malectus rise! (might have misheard the name but sounds like this to my ear) followed by perfectly voice acted outrage!
Amazing job again and thank you so much! Talk about duty of care to fans... well done :) Rest well brother for your work shall stand as testament and echo through eternity!
That one space marine fighting with a power axe while missing an arm is like "yea i might be missing lots of blood and one arm but i can still kick your traitor ass"
The unfortunate fucker got instantly added an chainsword into the stump as an additional fuck you from the world eaters. No, srsly, the second world eater charging at him threw his chainsword into the Ultramarines' shoulder.
1:50 has me enraptured. The somber tone of the music while a mother runs from slaughter. Only to be saved seconds from mutulation by a one armed UltraMarine doing the duty he has sworn to. Fighting and killing with missing limbs and organs only falling after having his chest shattered from bolters. That sort of stuff in a cheesy way is inspiring.
I replayed this so much. I picked up on some of the more funny shit like the Ultramarine getting sniped by what looks like a lascannon at 1:36 or the cultist doing a roll over the astartes to avoid getting flattened at 1:55, or the civilian begging for mercy in the back at 2:38. Also the truescale marines is just a really nice touch.
At 01:55 it looks like Guardsman, not cultist You can clearly see him at 01:06, he just runnin away from Corupted Astartes because he know, he have exactly one milion chance below zero
This really well captures swiftness and skill of Astartes commbat. In most media they are not realy super human. This shows how fucking next level they are.
this is also why I am using this footage as reference material next time a Star Wars or Halo fan boy tries to argue how their fill in the blank fluff character can somehow fight and beat an astarties let alone survive in the 40K universe it self. >_>
1:43 this melee combat scene really demonstrated well, the speed, and agility of a space marine, and the power armor despite them being 8 ft tall, bulky, and heavy. I always wondered for many years how they were agile in their power armor as described in the lore, seen that here now! Great work!
I love the way the terminators dont walk, they STOMP. Excellent work, you've captured the pure weight of an astartes in terminator (and also power) armor. Once they get moving, they DO.NOT.STOP.
I loved the delivery of the Dreadnaught saying “What is this heresy?!?!?” It channeled so much righteous fury and indignation. This will set the bar very high for all future Warhammer movies.
Awesome feedback guys, notes have been taken and the next update will be a massive improvement :D Thanks! Also, in regards to animation. Doing the best I can atm with the resources at hand. No motion capture gear of my own to execute things that I agree with in the comments below.
I love the part with the mother and her baby running she has no idea who is good/bad and which side is willing to protect her, running in all directions while huge demigods blast each other with rapid fire RPGs. Really shows the disconnect between the humans and the space marines.
It just adds to the sheer intensity to this fan film and meaning brothers vs brothers. Guardsman and civilains alike getting slaughterd by the very people they called heros and looked up to. That whole era was just utter confusion to the loyalist side just think of the istvaan dropsite massacre Ferrus mannus of the iron hands got decapitated by fulgrim and the iron hands pulled back to the other "loyalist" legions for back up only to get gunned down by them .
technically, they wouldn't be saying "heresy" since at the time, this was thought to be treason..only later on, when the full extent of the situation became apparent, would they categorize this as being heretical.
Funny to see how fan made stuff shames the products of big studios. GW should offer people like the makers of this video the license and resources to make a series or an entire movie. I'm sick of seeing the Warhammer franchise slaughtered to appeal to the masses (yes looking at you Sega) Just give the people something like this trailer, that shows the grimdark over the top glory of Warhammer 30k or 40k and they will like it. Please GW stop being so damn afraid of actually doing something awesome with your franchise.
The bit at the end did make me think. Everyone was reeling from the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, no-one, save perhaps The Emperor Himself saw it coming. But imagine the horror and shock of a Dreadnought, woken while the Heresy was in full swing.
I know it is nitpicking, but that bit actually annoyed me a little. Remember, at this point, the Imperium was STRICTLY atheist. So heresy was not a concept, and certainly not a concept a Dreadnought would have recognised. In my opinion, it would have been better had he simply said "WHAT. IS. THIS?!"
Rudey Jr I did see a comment, where the creator said he was aware of how out of place it was. If I recall correctly, he said he thought of things like treachery, or treason, (I think treason would have been a better thing to put in) but none of them rolled off the tongue as well.
I think the term heresy is more powerful than treason because it gives the impression of something that could not, should not actually happen. This is how I see it, not in the religious, god emperor kind of way, just as something unthinkable. Also even in those days Astartes were "brainwash" to be loyal so without being truly religious it may feel like betraying, losing faith in the emperor design and comes like heresy. But again, it is just my opinion.
This is glorious! The animation, and voice acting, is all incredible. I really like the scene of a crowded street with civilians being attacked and then the Ultramarines step in to try and protect them. That scene really shows the Space Marines most important role, the protection of humanity. I have never seen Space Marines being so heroic. This really prove instead of just being fanatical warriors, they are also heroes! Fantastic job!
"No, we're not brave and we're not heroes. I'm 300 years old and clad in armor that rivals a Leman Russ, my brothers and I know no fear and strike with perfect precision. We go to war knowing that we'll return home undamaged. But you? You're just human, but you still fight for the Emperor. That's what it means to be brave, to be a hero." An Imperial fist librarian, to a guardsman
Nobody, and I mean nobody has ever depicted any 40K universe combat as well as you have. Brilliant work and thank you for a great Christmas gift! And yes, that sound effect on the volkite is perfect 👌
Tim Pederson is our sound FX guy, and will do justice for us ;D Hard to hear here due to all the other noise, but in the film you can hear everything crisp ;)
OMG its leakycheese! Haha walked away and had to think for a moment the name I just glimpsed XD Gratitude brother! When my emotional bank account was run dry the last month of the production I listened to your vids. Like I commented on your channel before, very relaxing :D
Mark Louis Spark That's so cool mate, to think I might have given you even a tiny bit of inspiration with completing your awesome video has made my day 👍🏻
I love how there is so many things going on at once here, the shooting, soldiers dropping dead around the cameras focus, it really makes it feel like a battle, specifically my favorite part of the trailer was 1:31 and 1:40, also that line at the end “What is this heresy” was so badass!
Watching this has never made me this excited for a warhammer series before in my life. Infact in school in my english class, my teacher said that if I finish a free reading book I can be able to do a book review infront of the whole class. So before I did Know No Fear review in class I pulled up this video for everyone and the teacher was fine with it. A lot of people liked it and it even got my teacher into 40k and it has now gotten me to go on a ultramarines book reading spree. You are awesome Mark! Keep up the amazing work!!
Seeing the world eaters depicted as this brings the chaos joy! Even if they were being killed off. Just the way you showed them fighting was beautiful! Fantastic work and skill!
Worry not, world eaters have more moments to come! I may be an Ultra fan boy, but i'm a 30k Ultra fan boy... Shit went down, and we didn't win all battles. You can expect me to be very fair with the legions.
Hello! I am a simple fan of Warhammer 40k from Russia. I've read about 30k history, but you gave me the understanding of this atmosphere when your brothers betray you, and what these battles would look like (horrible and stuff even for the warhammer). I am really glad that I've seen it! Thank you very much for your work! P.S. I'm here from the Chapter Master Valrak P.S.S. Спасибо дружище!
theres also the possibility that they would water down a lot of the source material so they can make it more appealing to a wider crowd....Heresy if you ask me. I'm glad they don't make a movie, it'll end up like Star Wars is now.
Of they made a proper warhammer movie it has to be an 18+.(15+ at absolute least). You cannot water down the damage of a chainsword or bolter without damaging the quality of a film
Nice observation! Havent noticed it before xD too bad he is going to be shot for fleeing... But, again, who wouldnt run?! Lets just hope none of the commissars saw him ;)
Bojan Jovanovic This was during the 30th Millenium, the Imperial army was much stronger than the modern Imperial Guard and I don't think they had commissars. They had lasrifles that were extremely powerful compared to modern lasguns, some of them used volkites weapons, and they often managed to hold their own against trairorous space marines. This man isn't fleeing, he is tactically retreating so that he can have a chance to shoot them down afterwards.
The mother and the baby in her arms... They are deaf now...If they lived that is. And here is one of the sacred 'Likes', well worth it for seeing heretics dying by the Honorable Ultrasmurfs.
In the end, its not the visuals that were doing here, that's the lore. A deeper part of the lore that AAA Has yet to and never will be able to, translate. We are bringing the novels to life, and you will not recognise what you see, because its done right.
Mark Louis Spark the understanding of what the marines are and what 40k is. A thing you only get from following the 40k lore. Insight it's called. They can't understand becuase they don't have that. The Creative Assembly showed that a studio with insight can make amazing games. It would require a publisher to do the same for a true 40k game to exists
I can't believe I'm only seeing this now. This is one of the best animated depictions that I've seen of space marines thus far. The level of detail in this-Cataphractii terminators, twin-linked bolters instead of storm bolters, various mishmashes of age-accurate armour that was mentioned to be common in HH, contemptor dreadnoughts, and even small details like accurate legion markings and the lack of the imperial aquila on breastplates-is mindblowingly impressive. You've also managed to capture the essence of space-marine battles far better than any other so far. They look powerful and unstoppable, and yet superhumanly fast; most depictions I've seen can only manage one or the other, but rarely both. And I thought I was impressed by the Lord Inquisitor trailer. You have here a masterpiece, good sir.
philippe K Now Magnus and his Thousand Sons doing the same thing to Fenris as payback for Prospero and make the Space Wolves walk on their shoes. Like destroying the apparent cure for the Wulfen defect on Russ' geneseed and make the people of Fenris see Daemons and Chaos powers which the Inquisition purged them all for that.
But this isn't Prospero and these aren't the thousand sons. If you havent read the thousand sons book, do it. I went through like 25 titles and space wolves versus thousand sons -- best battle in the hh series imo
Mr Spark, I am here to tell you how grateful I am to see a true 40k fan bringing something this glorious to the screen. I happen to be friends with someone you asked to voice act but declined. I cannot wait to see this movie. I will support you in anyway I can. Thank you so much. Just...thank you.
Some American to be fair though it looks like he wasn't just a guardsmen, and he looks like he had an sniper rifle, hell it may have been a vindicare which would explain the Lightning reactions to dodge under the ultramarine
The fan in me is "power level over 9000!" The critic in me is "Some of the Audio is a bit cringey" The Emperor in me is "Purge* the 2nd guy, this is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!" Looking forward to the whole thing. Keep up the incredible work ./2thumpsup
Please approach GW for licensing rights and Netflix to make this a whole TV season. Literally everything I have ever wanted to see for a movie or series based in the Heresy.
Definitely best scene in this trailer. Best emphasis of the terminators catch phrase "They don't need cover, they're cover". Could use better audio tho, like stormbolters firing louder.
Great f**kin job mate, as I said in the previous video this animation is phenomenal. Frankly this just cements the fact that 40k deserves a series ala game of thrones. Lots of people say that Space marines are too inhuman to be relatable but that's the entire point of super soldiers in general. The scene that stands out is where the woman is running away from the World Eaters and passes the cataphractraii terminators which are like 12 feet tall and absolutely massive. Great sense of scale from that shot, something I think lots of people miss about 40k. Space marines aren't sleek armored spartans like master chief or normal human monks like jedi, they are these hulking demigods clad in power armor, not only that but they aren't slow and dumb like how media likes to portray hulking armored characters. They are essentially Faster than the human eye can see, extremely nimble and one is worth a thousand guardsmen. That being said your animation presents that exquisitely. Can't wait to see more of your work. PPS; Don't let those negative nancies get to you either.
Реально крутое видео, не чего лучше я еще не встречал!!! вы наверное первый кто показал войну которая была в книгах так как она там была изложена! Удачи вам в вашей работе и всего самого лучшего!
This looks absolutely fucking amazing. I cannot believe how goddamn scary the chaos marines looked charging down the street, massacring civilians. How fucking BADASS was that moment when the lady was running with the baby and she runs towards the cataphractii screaming 'Don't let them kill my baby!' and they roar at the heretics 'YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME, TRAITOR!' and later when the one armed marine clothelines the World Eater in the FUCKING FACE with a power axe to protect the civilians?! GOD DAMN THIS WAS AWESOME. The Astartes are the fucking DEFENDERS OF HUMANITY, and showing them finally for once going to bat for regular people, not even guardsmen, just civilians, was fucking AWESOME. I wanna add a civilian element to my 40k games now! Save the citizens! Kill the citizens! Protect the civilian Bunker! Massacre them for your dark gods! I don't even care this was Ultramarines, this was AMAZING.
not a guardsman back then they were simply part of the Imperial Army a kind of human based auxiliary soldiers whose tasks included supporting the SM legions on crusades with heavy arty fire / baneblade armored blitzkriegs or to just hold territory that was recently conquered as a garrison force.
Dogma 515 The Solar Auxillia are a higher tier branch of the Imperial Army compared to normal Imperial Army Guardsmen Formations like the Lacunan Lifewatch, Prospero spireguard and the Ouranti Draks. Those are auxiliaries that more commonly support space marines. Solar Auxilia can operate more independently.
Evguenia Nepotchatykh At this rate, we'll pump cash, nitrous oxide, oscuras, Amasec, geneseed and whatever its needed to see it made. Cut Guirlyman support they'll need the extra power.
Everyone here wants to see the Death of Hope because of its animation, quality, setting, etc, while I just want to know whether this Contemptor Dreadnought has a plasma cannon or a volkite? 🤔
It made me grin at how much sense that line makes as well, ancient warrior has just woken up to find astartes killing astartes, friend killing friend, brother killing brother, this is a pretty normal thing considering he was asleep but a mere moment ago
Imagine being a dreadnought during the Heresy. Think about it, you only are awoken when shit hits the fan. You’re put into the dreadnought and last time you checked everything was going well. "You have lost your temper."
I love how that even through the chaos and horror of the battlefield, the woman took the two seconds to stare at the Cataphractii terminators walking past her in awe.
That dreadnought being awakened for the first time in the heresy though... gave me chills. WHAT........IS.........THIS......HERESYYYYY
I love how other legions call each other cousins. It's just a big old family war.
well I mean technically it's true, since they are sons of their primarchs and the primarchs are brothers
Isaac Ladds Makes it a lot more sincere and sad honestly, these aren’t random grunts killing each other, space marines are blood related one way or another. Imagine having to fight your own brothers and cousins while your fathers are at each other’s throats.
Seeing normal humans next to terminators really makes you realize how massive space marines are
"Your fight is with me, traitor". Chills.

"I know what I'm about, son."
1:57 - That roll made by Imperial Soldier is realy impresive. Its like he had experience with fight alongside Space Marines. Neat.
The terminators still are the best part of the trailer for me
Outright tingle inducing, no?
AlphaDingo990 Oh yes absolutely
Father Bones fuck yes !
Small and angry walking fortress
Thank The Emperor they are not doing back flips.

"WHAT IS THIS HERESY" I just love that line!
I mean, it doesn't make sense for anything to be called heresy DURING the 30k times. Because the Imperium was so anti-religious - you weren't allowed to worship anything. So that was a mistake.
yes it does make sense because they even said of talk of worshiping the emperor was heresy in like the second or third horus heresy book.
Heresy is basically just... alternative view. With connotation of wrong alternative view.
They still used the word heresy just more by the hidden worshippers of the Emperor.
Is that what that world eater dreadnought said? (i know theres a name for these old bunch but i forgot... Hellbrutes?)
I love the Lorgar Quote about peace and prosperity while looking at all the corpses from the war that Lorgar was the one to start.
Cassie king Did the mother with the baby you voiced lived after the Ultramarines protected them while kept running to safety?
If this was movie I would watch it.
If this was a TV show I would buy it on dvd.
If this was a game I would buy it and its dlc
1:57 That Dude got only one arm to fight with, by the Emperor!
Wow, the scene with terminators felt so real. You don't really want to be near those things when s*** hits the fan
YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME, TRAITOR!
Katalmach They protected the woman and her baby and made the Traitors focus on them instead.
i hope they make the emperor horus duel and also all the badass sanguinius fights
Timoy Lumontad The heart of what it is to be a space marine: Protect the people of the Imperium of Man.
Marines InSpace Hear hear.
Sadly the Space Marines seemed to have forgotten of this important lesson and have harmed more innocents than protecting them especially with some outright lacking empathy and had contempt against weaklings for them.
Some chapters have, but the First founding has not forgotten how their cousins failed during the heresy. Well, except for the Iron Hands maybe.
Who else is watching this over and over?
Its been out for a half a year and i still cannot stop watching! Probably seen it 50 times
I really like the running animations for the World Eaters in particular. They're not simply running with haste, but they're running in a manner that in my opinion really brings out their wild and reckless bloodlust.

That Dark Souls dodge-roll at 1:56 though
elite imperial army training
He's just doing a speedrun avoiding all the marines.
Space marines are fast, wtf is wrong with you.
1) He wasn't even on about the Marine.
2) Take a chill pill.
EDIT: And tbh, it was closer to a Battlefront II (Original) dodge-roll^^
Alpha Legion operatives are well trained.
I love how fast the space marine combat is. This is exactly as they are described in the fluff, stupid quick relative to a human and I think this shows that well.
This was amazing! Watching the world eaters Purge the weak made me want to start painting some!
Still slow by Eldar standards though
Go away Traitor! You can't have nice things!
Depends on the space marine, sons of Khan tend to outspeed even Eldar.
Sam Bontempo Humans are so helpless before the Space Marines gone traitor.
The scene that hit me most is 1:23.

one of the many comments that made my day haha
I literally couldn't handle how much amazing was going on. I was just so pumped and couldn't help but yell go sons of Guilliman! Kill the traitors!
Did you see the titans at the end?
yeah, but after all that awesomeness I lost my ability physically process my thoughts of how epic the titans where into words!!
Will Olek i completly lost my shit when i saw titan at the end

ulises666 666 what legion of astartes is that dreadnought? I feel really bad for that fella
ulises666 666 , I feel ya too. Emagine you brother today, will be your ultimate rival tomorrow. that is just to tragic, I feel your pain.
1:40 2:05 is that the same scene from different angles? That is quality attention to detail right there. Holy goodness. I think it is the captain that is running on the background on 2:05
1:56 shoutout to that guardsman for that great move
He saw the Ultramarine was coming and was like, ok do or die time, and I sure as hell ain't dying!
That was a perfect combat roll
I am surprised he managed to roll. I would have thought he would have tripped over his solid steel balls.
Someone has been playing dark souls
Almost did not catch that. These big lumbering mother fuckers are so awsome.
What is the name of the dreadnought at the end ? Is it trajan ? Could it be trajan ? That's a cool name for a ultramarine venerable dreadnought
Take your rest, and after that you really should tell us how to support this. I'm throwing my money to screen now.
AND THIS ISN’T A BOX OFFICE MOVIE
WHAT HERESY IS THIS
GW: "Mark spark was able to build this in a cave!!! With a box of scraps!!"
so much shit going on the screen that you need to rewatch it 5-10 times. good stuff
That one space marine fighting with a power axe while missing an arm is like "yea i might be missing lots of blood and one arm but i can still kick your traitor ass"
That's what it makes it awesome. They made SM how they should be.
"It's just a flesh-wound, I've had worse!"
Till the last drop of Astartes blood. Gloria Victis!
The unfortunate fucker got instantly added an chainsword into the stump as an additional fuck you from the world eaters.
No, srsly, the second world eater charging at him threw his chainsword into the Ultramarines' shoulder.
Invictus well at least he didn't go down without putting up a good fight
Also the truescale marines is just a really nice touch.
the headshot to the ultra was done by a Volkite ;) it basically incinerated his head inside his helm
At 01:55 it looks like Guardsman, not cultist
You can clearly see him at 01:06, he just runnin away from Corupted Astartes because he know, he have exactly one milion chance below zero
Loyalist Hot Pocket
Mark Louis Spark Who's the guy at 1:17?
Chosen Rubric deathguard?....
This really well captures swiftness and skill of Astartes commbat. In most media they are not realy super human. This shows how fucking next level they are.
And terrifying.
this is also why I am using this footage as reference material next time a Star Wars or Halo fan boy tries to argue how their fill in the blank fluff character can somehow fight and beat an astarties let alone survive in the 40K universe it self. >_>
I know this is a fan film, but I want to play this game.
Hypno-Thorax I want to be a space marine in the actual battle
100% agree with ya
You, me, and every other 40k fan here
Is this not supposed to be a movie trailer? Albeit fan made, but still..
No you don't, cause the reality of it is scary.
He reacts to the last Dawn Of War game
Awesome feedback guys, notes have been taken and the next update will be a massive improvement :D Thanks! Also, in regards to animation. Doing the best I can atm with the resources at hand. No motion capture gear of my own to execute things that I agree with in the comments below.
Mark Louis Spark Awesome work Mark. Hopefully GW hires you to make some films! :D
This is a meme now, It has been put to sabaton's Deus Vualt....
Mark Louis Spark why did you del the rus version of the video on another channel? It was a good job. :(
Goddamn that ultramarine captain duel was fucking epic!
No motion capture gear and yet you still manage to pull this off. You have a scary amount of talent there Mark
I love the part with the mother and her baby running she has no idea who is good/bad and which side is willing to protect her, running in all directions while huge demigods blast each other with rapid fire RPGs. Really shows the disconnect between the humans and the space marines.
She knows the Ultramaraines are on her side. It is their world under attack, and the Ultramarines are common place among them.
Ah okay, Space Marines were a lot more common back in those days. So I would believe normal humans would know who they are.
WHAT IS THIS....HERESY?! *dreadnought charges into the fray*
technically, they wouldn't be saying "heresy" since at the time, this was thought to be treason..only later on, when the full extent of the situation became apparent, would they categorize this as being heretical.
ExcessCongruence but its a direct quote from the dreadnought
Funny to see how fan made stuff shames the products of big studios.
GW should offer people like the makers of this video the license and resources to make a series or an entire movie.
I'm sick of seeing the Warhammer franchise slaughtered to appeal to the masses (yes looking at you Sega)
Just give the people something like this trailer, that shows the grimdark over the top glory of Warhammer 30k or 40k
and they will like it.
Please GW stop being so damn afraid of actually doing something awesome with your franchise.
Passion will always beat profit.
Loving the way you use civilians to give it that EPIC scale! I mean those Tactical Dreadnoughts..... just wow. Well done, well done indeed.
Thats how it usually is in the fluff/books just never depicted UNTIL NOW! and he did it FOR FREE! suck on that Ultramarine sh***y movie!
The bit at the end did make me think.
Everyone was reeling from the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, no-one, save perhaps The Emperor Himself saw it coming.
But imagine the horror and shock of a Dreadnought, woken while the Heresy was in full swing.
Throne... it puts official GW work to shame.
"WHAT
IS
THIS
HERESY!!??"
Oh man, so cool.
this is what sold this to me XD
I know it is nitpicking, but that bit actually annoyed me a little.
Remember, at this point, the Imperium was STRICTLY atheist. So heresy was not a concept, and certainly not a concept a Dreadnought would have recognised. In my opinion, it would have been better had he simply said "WHAT. IS. THIS?!"
Seduce Me Completely agree, maybe "Treachery"? Then they don't have to change the audio too much...
Rudey Jr
I did see a comment, where the creator said he was aware of how out of place it was.
Once again, you guys did an awesome job! I hope to see the finished product soon.
Why aren't you there though?
That's what it means to be brave, to be a hero."
An Imperial fist librarian, to a guardsman
That's beautiful man, good thing it was an Imperial Fist though a Dark Angel would just have kicked the poor guardsman around and laughed.
Rogerio A Salamander would comfort the poor Guardsmen since they're nice to mortals.
VULKAN LIVES!
Mark Roberts the voice acting needs improvements
WHO THUMBS DOWNED THIS!?!?!?!?
Must be Word Bearers!!
Alpha Legion*
Mark Louis Spark That's so cool mate, to think I might have given you even a tiny bit of inspiration with completing your awesome video has made my day 👍🏻
leakycheese leaky you have 333 likes you are now illuminati cheese
If someone who depicted, THIS
IS
HERESY!!
SWEET BABY EMPEROR ON HIS TRAINING WHEELS GOLDEN THRONE !!!!! YOU SIR ARE A HERO!!!!
Once again, fantastic work, my dude. For your work you deserve a Chapter of your own.
The 225677th Fragment of the Man-Emperor of Mankind
hello father
Sup, sonny
Hey big G we are kinda being fucked in the ass by a boltgun here can we get some help
father how many time did i told you that i will not attack lorgar's "perfect city" and now they attacking my realm
P.S. I'm here from the Chapter Master Valrak
P.S.S. Спасибо дружище!
Максим Терентьев thank you for your support
It's sad the GW will never agree to make a movie.
Well there is an official movie, it's just not very good.
theres also the possibility that they would water down a lot of the source material so they can make it more appealing to a wider crowd....Heresy if you ask me. I'm glad they don't make a movie, it'll end up like Star Wars is now.
Oh dear Emperor please not like Star Wars1
Of they made a proper warhammer movie it has to be an 18+.(15+ at absolute least). You cannot water down the damage of a chainsword or bolter without damaging the quality of a film
oh they do... they're just to stupid for looking on YT for some real talent...
Shout out to the Imperial Army soldier doing a sweet little combat roll at 1:57
Hamburginator That guy was probably promoted to General after surviving an encounter with space marines
Nice observation
Hmmm, didnt know that. Ty for response ;)
1:33 YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME, TRAITOR.
Non Non
1:41 COME ON THEN GUILLIMANS LITTLE GIRLS
I thought they said curs
The 347664th Fragment of the Man-Emperor of Mankind
You have to listen carefully, but it’s girls
I thought it said curs, but I also heard girls and think that is much more fun!
"Let the galaxy burn."
~ Horus Lupercal
Seriously this is Good! I wish there's a dropsite massacre film somewhere.....
when fans made better movie then most of company keep it going +
The mother and the baby in her arms...
They are deaf now...If they lived that is. And here is one of the sacred 'Likes', well worth it for seeing heretics dying by the Honorable Ultrasmurfs.
how did some of your techmarines involve in shadow crusade?
That's were reading the books comes in handy ;)
but how?
You should know, You have them stationed around certain parts of your eastern Galaxy "Roboute"
i forgot that
Real 40k combat animated how it should be, AAA+ game developers can learn a lot from you mate, great work
In the end, its not the visuals that were doing here, that's the lore.
Watched this over 40 times now. I havnt read this yet but it gave me a good idea of how it must have looked at prospero
philippe K Now Magnus and his Thousand Sons doing the same thing to Fenris as payback for Prospero and make the Space Wolves walk on their shoes.
I went through like 25 titles and space wolves versus thousand sons -- best battle in the hh series imo
this was actually during the battle of Calth . it was a good read
Mr Spark,
I am here to tell you how grateful I am to see a true 40k fan bringing something this glorious to the screen. I happen to be friends with someone you asked to voice act but declined. I cannot wait to see this movie. I will support you in anyway I can. Thank you so much. Just...thank you.
Looks amazing, and props to the guardsmen with good reflexes 1:57
This was phenomenal. It gave me chills to watch. This is the best fighting I have seen in a WH40k film yet. Please keep up the good work, brother.
Was sent here by a fan...this is extremely well done..
Lore Reloaded The Emperor Approves
I still can't believe it has to take a year to make 3 minutes. I have more respect for animators , I never thought it would be this hard.
1:55 the guardsman makes a well timed roll. Haha.
Nick N I like how he just accepts he's absolutely 0 help & just decides to run away
Some American to be fair though it looks like he wasn't just a guardsmen, and he looks like he had an sniper rifle, hell it may have been a vindicare which would explain the Lightning reactions to dodge under the ultramarine
Must be from a dark souls unit ;)
I still can't get over how much I adore everything about this trailer. The Terminator sequence especially gives me chills.
1:57 that Imperial army guardsmen just fucking rolled over his Ultramarine bros leg lol
The fan in me is "power level over 9000!"
The critic in me is "Some of the Audio is a bit cringey"
The Emperor in me is "Purge* the 2nd guy, this is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!"
Looking forward to the whole thing. Keep up the incredible work ./2thumpsup
You mean purge the 2nd guy.
Indeed brother.... and fixed :D
Please approach GW for licensing rights and Netflix to make this a whole TV season. Literally everything I have ever wanted to see for a movie or series based in the Heresy.
Netflix will make Warhammer 40k for kids. Do you want to see Warhammer for kids?) Are you sure?) HBO is way better)
If he got the approval He should just do it on youtube and charge a fee to watch. dont need that "Grim Dark" watered down by anybody.
I would love to see the Dropsite battles with this level of skill.
Also showcase other Imperial Forces to show the vast range involved in the Heresy.
Netflix is riding on a wave. They are ready to try out new stuff, so I would bet on them as opposed to HBO.
Артём Ковалёв did you not saw devilman crybaby? Or some of the violent shit on their animated cartoons?
Soo much detail! You can eve see the butcher's nails implants
IN THE EMPERORS NAME FINISH THIS!!!
This shot right here 1:22 is fucking amazing. Perfect way to get the idea across of the real immensity of things like terminator armour.
I love the way the woman looks back at them.
Joel I agree
Реально крутое видео, не чего лучше я еще не встречал!!! вы наверное первый кто показал войну которая была в книгах так как она там была изложена! Удачи вам в вашей работе и всего самого лучшего!
Whoever made this....you've captured the warhammer 40k universe better than any movie or game thus far by an immense margin. My hat is off to you.
Kudos to the Guardsman soldier that got saved by the Ultramarine captain at 1:57 from that World Eater Legionary.
not a guardsman back then they were simply part of the Imperial Army a kind of human based auxiliary soldiers whose tasks included supporting the SM legions on crusades with heavy arty fire / baneblade armored blitzkriegs or to just hold territory that was recently conquered as a garrison force.
Phenixtri weren't they called solar auxilia or something?
Dogma 515 The Solar Auxillia are a higher tier branch of the Imperial Army compared to normal Imperial Army Guardsmen Formations like the Lacunan Lifewatch, Prospero spireguard and the Ouranti Draks. Those are auxiliaries that more commonly support space marines. Solar Auxilia can operate more independently.
again imperial army this was way before the guard existed as we know it in 40K
We can’t make a wh movie they say, we can’t make them good they say. Pump enough coffee into fans with talent and this is what you get!
Evguenia Nepotchatykh At this rate, we'll pump cash, nitrous oxide, oscuras, Amasec, geneseed and whatever its needed to see it made. Cut Guirlyman support they'll need the extra power.
Your fight is with me... Traitor
Everyone here wants to see the Death of Hope because of its animation, quality, setting, etc, while I just want to know whether this Contemptor Dreadnought has a plasma cannon or a volkite? 🤔
Wait this a trailer for a short? I had to re watch this several times due to the detail... oh damn...
WHAT
IS
THIS
HERESYYY?!?!
Literaly made my day
It made me grin at how much sense that line makes as well, ancient warrior has just woken up to find astartes killing astartes, friend killing friend, brother killing brother, this is a pretty normal thing considering he was asleep but a mere moment ago
I have watched this dozens of times, and I just now noticed the reflexes of the guardsman at 1:56
you can tell he finished Dark Souls
Everytime i watch this those Terminators give me a chill... Awesome work
Calling it now, the Imperial Fist saves everyone! ;)
Great work, gents! It's been an honor watching this come alive!
Chapter Master Valrak I wonder who he's voiced by. 😁
Yeaa...of course. No wonder he was guarding that window/wall
Yeah, get fisting brothers!
Wait, that sounds wrong...
Chapter Master Valrak dammit valarak of course you think that
Chapter Master Valrak hail to you from the primarch lion'el Johnson chapter master valrak.
"What... IS THIS HERESYYYYYYYY!!!???!!!"
The speed you gave to the astartes is what makes it so great for me it shows how superhuman they are
