My name is Kaiya Pelletier and I am documenting my metal journey as I discover and listen to metal music for the first time ever. I'm in my mid 20's and I've been a singer songwriter and performer for over 10 years. Currently I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma and I am in the process of recording my 4th album. I have a Bloodhound named Spooner, I love Mexican food, collecting Stephen King novels, collecting CD's and cassettes and my favorite movies are tied between Jurassic Park and Alien.

I heard this album when I was 12, and loved this song. Then a friend told me the vocalist and guitar player just play guitar and they have a new vocalist, better than the previous, then I heard the Keeper albums and it was greater than Jericho for me, great times.
His vocal is timeless
Kai has such a good metal voice ... i like him so much in every track.
Along with Blackie Lawless and Jon Oliva, the PERFECT heavy metal vocals.
Walls of Jericho is my favourite album of all time and the one that got me into metal in the 80s.
Kai Michael Hansen (born 17 January 1963) is a German musician who is the founder, lead guitarist and vocalist of power metal band Gamma Ray. He is also one of the co-founders of another power metal band Helloween, which he rejoined in 2016. He is a prominent figure in power metal and has sold millions of albums worldwide. He is regarded as "the godfather of power metal", having founded two seminal bands in the genre.
classic 80s speed / power metal
Before releasing Walls Of Jericho Helloween released an EP. You should check out Starlight and Victims Of Fate from that one. Great stuff. Helloween were great on their two early releases with Kai Hansen as vocalist. His guitar work with Michael Weikath combined by a great rhythm section by Markus Grosskopf (means big head in German) and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg RIP are top class

This whole album is such a banger. I recommend Iced Earth - Stormrider (Original version) if you want to hear some heavy american power metal. It's such a fucking banger

I love early Helloween! You can hear the almost Thrashy sound it has, Speed Metal can border on Thrash at times.
I highly recommend the band Stormwarrior for people who LOVE Walls of Jericho.
Helloween themselves moved on from the style of this album and invented full-blown Euro-Power with their next albums... but if you want to hear more music like this - Stormwarrior have you covered. Try "Heading Northe".
Walls of Jericho is the best power metal album of all time. Full of energy, as a whole it seems compact. It has a lot of hits and there is no weak song.
If Accept, Riot and Bathory had a baby it would cry like this.
helloween has spawned a daughter called Lovebites. you'll find in this track all the ingredients Lovebites uses in her compositions. Helloween, and especially this album, are the forerunners of power metal at its best. You have to check Lovebites a power metal band from japan. The best metal band in the world now.

I like Helloween. Try react to Japan girl metal band Lovebites. Their song mostly like Helloween and also a fan of them too. Firstly the song Holy War, live at Zepp Diversity, Tokyo.. you'll be amazed👍
There are recent live versions of their best songs, since it's almost Halloween, you should listen to... Halloween by Helloween.

This is probably my all-time favorite Helloween album (including the debut EP and the Judas single, of course), at least until I get more familiar with everything after 1989, lol. But I suspect this will remain my favorite, no matter what.

Walls is a thrash album.
I love Helloween! They are one of my favorite bands. Unfortunately I can't listen to them anymore. The last time I was listening to them heavily, my ex and I got into a fight, and we broke up. I miss them, but they always take me back. Always wanted to see them live so bad. Now, I can't even imagine it.
I haven't heard this song for over 30 years and I'd forgotten how good it was! The main riff does sound a lot like Metallica's Trapped Under Ice though.

Hi Imakaiya, I watch your vids but don’t comment much. Wow, I remember listening to this when it came out. I look damn sexy for 56 😂😂. Love Helloween. Keeper of the 7 Keys still reigns supreme for their catalogue. We have very similar tastes and it’s so fun watching as you discover all the great metal. With no Spotify or anything you had to take a shot at a new band by spending for the Album or Tape. Great Album art mattered and so did underground passing around copied tapes

Walls Of Jericho = London Bridge Is Falliing Down (that's what I got, anyway).
The opening intro on the EP is featured in the 3rd Halloween movie (Season Of The Witch).
It’s the Silver Shamrock commercial jingle (Happy Happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Happy Happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock). But yes you’re right, it’s definitely taken originally from London Bridge. Although I feel with Kai Hansen, he was probably referencing Halloween III. Because the beginning of “Starlight” also has the Silver Shamrock jingle in it. They also began some of their live shows in 1987 by playing the theme from Halloween II (1981) immediately followed by the Silver Shamrock jingle (H3 1982) to open the show.

I like Walls of Jericho the best. Victim of Fate is killer song!! - just one to mention. I haven't listened Helloween in a while, maybe should go through their disco. The last album I listened to was probably Better than Raw. But it wasn't good. I heard one of their songs on the radio at the time and thought it was from that record. Well, it wasn't and I still don't know what that song was 😮😁😎
