Your sewing room
Is what every sewer wants.
You are an excellent commentator. Your sewing room is a dream come true for any need and threader. May I dare to suggest adding on a small room for you to give classes, to share your extensive knowledge. Bravo!
You must be living in my head - because that is *precisely* what I want to do in the future. My dream is to one day own a space where I can host workshops & classes!

My idea: I use my bed (when all of my blocks are done) as a design wall to decide the order of my squares. I then pile them up in order. I pin numbers on the piles for rows.
I've done that, too! If needed, I'm happy to do that, but if all I need to see is a row at a time, I'll admit I'm too lazy to go upstairs and use a bed! LOL
I use the water soluble blue pen to mark them 1-1 is row one, block one, then 1-2, etc

What a wonderful sewing room. You have some fabulous equipment and great storage. I love that you properly converted it into a room putting in nice big windows and a door. So many garages that are used are still garages and are dark, gloomy spaces that look damp and uninviting.

A possible solution for your design wall problem, a friend of mine took an old pull down projection screen mounted it too the top of her floor to ceiling book cases and lined it with flannel . She pulls it down when she needs it and lets it up when she doesn't even when has blocks on it.

I've seen Tiny Orchard Quilt channel use this. It works very well.

This is one of the best set ups I have seen. I have a new first time sewing room. When you said it took a couple years to do some things I felt better. I after a year am still adjusting and moving but love having things just about how I want them. Do like the idea of the target containers. Thanks for the visit
Don't worry, Connie! I'm 2 years in - and still figuringj things out! There are some areas where I'm pretty solid on how I have things put, and other areas that I'm just not sold yet!

Becca, this was an awesome tour of your sewing room! You're so lucky to have such an awesome space and you've made it so functional! My sewing room is one side of an unfinished basement. It works for me. I'd love to have a sitting area like yours! And I love the Kallax units under your longarm...yes I noticed the labels right away, very elegant! I'm gonna have to look into copying your longarm setup, love it. Thanks for sharing. I can't imagine how long it took to organize your thoughts and gather links to make this video.

Fantastic ideas. Love the light. I have half the basement with fluorescent lights but sunshine is better. I don't have room fir a design board but after listening to you I might clip some batting from my material shelves.
