Schmidt Says He Considered Buying TikTok

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, says China is years behind the US when it comes to artificial intelligence. He also says he considered buying TikTok from its parent ByteDance. He speaks to Bloomberg's Caroline Hyde.

They can't really 'force' the company to be sold, but what they can do is prevent it from operating in the USA, which is worse than selling it. TikTok operates in like 100 countries, it is only profitable in the USA.
