0:32 exactly why I love my LS400 (1991) . Listen. Traffic noise up the ass. What happens once he gets inside and closes the door? SILENCE. When I'm driving down the highway at 65 mph. the only thing I hear is the wind noise. No loud exhaust, no loud engine noise, no funny squeaks or rattles. And I'm talking about my 25 year old car with 340,000 miles on the ticker. As close to a perfect car as has ever been made.

smithraymond09029 I thought I was the only one that noticed that when he closed the door. LoL I have an 06 and I love feeling isolated from all the outside noise.

I prefer European cars but I have granted the LS400 an exception as it truly is a remarkable automobile. Lexus deserved the praise it got and I'm glad this car was a hit with consumers in America.

I sat behind the wheels of a Burgundy LS 400 and next week I'm buying it from a client of mine. I drove it, experienced its strength, its solid feel, and quiet power. It's real!
Something I cannot explain gives this car some kind of perpetual reliable feel. For starter you know it's luxury, but it feels truly like prime comfort and resilient mechanics.
Thank you for your accurate feedback and sharing the story of the engine built to be suitable for an air plane engine..

I have the exact same car with 145,000 miles. The car had 32,000 miles when purchased 16 years ago. Had the timing belt replaced at 95,000 miles and starter replaced at 80,000 miles, that's all the money I've spent on this car in 113,000 miles. How could it get any better??? So, I totally agree with all you said about this car. Fantastic vehicle to say the least.

I just bought a 1998 TJT. It is awesome. I have just completed the most miles on two long trip that I have done in the U.K. in the last three days and I feel chilled. It's my second LS400, but the 1998 revision rocks. Sooo much power man.

Mine is a 97 and it has 112,000 miles. It is a phenomenal car and I plan on taking it down the road for as long as it will let me. It just doesn't get any better than the LS400. I don't like the new ones, that is why I'm gonna keep her going as long as she's willing to do so.

I have the 2000 LS400 w/253K looks and runs great. I just got a tune-up and fuel injection service because I didn't have any record of when it was done last and then the check engine light went on (code 440) but it turns out some of the old hoses were brittle and cracked when the work was done & needed to be replaced. Car is running like new again.trying to put some miles on it and hope the check engine light doesn't come on again, otherwise perfect car.

Gorgeous vehicle, Highley reliable easily can get 400,000 miles on these smooth V8 Japanese engines with rountine maintenance, the only thing to watch out for is the Starter motor, which is very difficult to get to, and the EGR which is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe both of these parts are going to go bad its inevitable, when time for replacement will be very expensive especially at the Lexus Dealership to replace, best bet is to find a independent shop that works on Japanese luxury vehicles, you probably can save hundreds on the labor cost.

I own an 87 Benz 560SEC that is mind blowing love the SEC's. Great weekend ride. But if I could find a gen II LS400 in really nice shape with low miles I'd pull the trigger and make it my daily driver. These cars are known for being bullet proof. They just go forever. But I'll never be able to find one.
For the record I despise the insane electronics with new cars. Nothing but distractions. EVERYTHING is computerized with way too many electronic doodads everywhere. Doodads that will cost a fortune to fix once they all start breaking.

Handles good, traction in all weather. Anyways lol one day I'll pick up one of these LS400 cars, I like the 430 just because the body is soo nice. Seen one with a light front hit, runs and drives for $800. Body work I estimated would be about $2000. Front bumper, one headlight, a grille, and taillight. 🙏🤘
