    Useful and informative. Best bet is to simply wait for the modders to update to 2.0. Been checking on Nexus and no joy as yet but that's to be expected. Thankfully the modders should now have the solid framework to work from from here. Can't wait for the results and Cyberpunk will be elevated to a whole new level.

    EDIT: Also, I don't have a "red mod auto convert"
    I redownloaded the new versions of all those mods, and made sure to uninstall mods that weren't updated or compatible with 2.x, 2.x still broke all my mods, like I can't even play it with a single mod installed now. Even with the mods uninstalled though, it still keeps telling me that "red launcher has stopped working", it'll still launch the game, but whether or not I'm able to press the space bar to get into the main menu when it tells me to is still up in the air. I'm loving this new update!

    REDmod has been fricked recently, now with 2.0.1 do you see viable to install mods again? They stated they solved the issue (and ofc they broke every scripting mod... again) but I don't know... also I can't cancel the auto-updates for some reason since the game won't let me start because it's outdated, which I find hella dumb since it's a single player game but oh well...
    For now only CET has been updated, but idk if I wanna keep trying if they're just gonna release big updates and frick everything up once more, I don't mind updating a few mods every update but my game sadly couldn't handle 2.0.1 change and wouldn't even launch without mods, thus I'm here lmao, thanks for the video btw!

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      I have a feeling CDPR will be pushing at least a few more patch bug fixes in the next couple of months. Since they’ll likely be minor changes as opposed to the content introduced by Phantom Liberty and 2.0, modding should still be viable.
      Basically, stuff like REDmod will (hopefully) cause less problems over time. CET, RedScript, TweakXL, and all the other major ones likely won’t need much of an update once a new patch gets released. So you can technically keep modding in my opinion, as frustrating as random updates can be when the screw with your mods.
      It kinda comes down to the question of DO you want to wait a couple of days after every patch to update your major mods, or just stick with vanilla Cyberpunk?
      As for cancelling auto-updates, idk what to do beyond disabling them in steam. To be extra safe you could try putting your steam offline when you launch Cyberpunk, or try launching the .exe through your game directory.
      Hope that helps and I appreciate the kind words!

    I have mods on my game and when I play now, the enemies take damage but never die. Do you recommend I do a fresh install or do you think there's another fix? Great vid btw!

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Try updating your mods first if you haven't already. I'm not exactly sure what mods you have downloaded but regardless, CDPR updated the game with Patch 2.01 so some mods have received updates because of this. There's a chance that not all mods you have downloaded have updates ready, so before clean installing I'd suggest disabling the ones that aren't updated/don't have their required mods updated.
      To isolate a mod that may be causing problems, you could try disabling a few at a time, launching the game, and checking. But it's easy to screw that up too if you're not really familiar with modding.
      So yeah, check if you can update your mods, and then clean install if all else fails.
      and thanks!

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 9 měsíci

      With any clothing mods I usually go the route of manually installing them since I’ve found it to be easier. Just gotta keep track of each mod you manually download into a mod list in case you wanna delete them later.
      From what I’ve seen on the mod page (link: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/8935 ) the method you chose to install within Vortex should work fine.
      I’d suggest fully deleting all files of the Peachu Crop Top mod and trying again. I’d unzip your .rar file with software such as 7zip, which is free, and then deleting the .txt file from the unzipped folder.
      If you’ve already tried all that, I’d suggest double checking you have all of the mod requirements installed and that they’re up to date. I’ve never found manually installed clothing mods to give me any problems so I’m not certain what other solutions to try if those don’t work. Good luck

    Good work on this video! I’ve been wondering how to handle the 2.0 patch with my mods so this helps. Do you know if any other modes that are OBE now that 2.0 adds features? Like the mod that added car chases and vehicle combat?

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Glad you found it helpful! Mods that change gameplay like car chases and vehicle combat will need to be removed. They're basically rendered obselete anyways, since the 2.0 patch adds all of this anyways I think. Other mods that alter your perks and skills will be useless for now, since they seem to be overhauling the character build systems. Adding mantis blade skills and such. Flying car mod will definitely be broken af once 2.0 launches.
      Anything dependent on the script heavy mods, even clothing mods that depend on ArchiveXL or TweakXL might not work for a bit until they're updated which is why I made a backup of my mods and will purge my Steam directory folder.

      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@Therealslik Here's an update from the mod author of the netrunner mod I think you're referencing. TLDR he says it may need a small update. Basically, wait to play Cyberpunk until he's got it patched for update 2.0. Nexus Link: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2468?tab=posts
      Full quote: "Pre-patch 2.0 assessment: Still no indication if CDPR is going to change enemy netrunner behaviour. If they do nothing, this mod will need little to no work. If they add a few new hacks, it would still only require a small amount of work to update. If they add a full suite of comparable hacks then I might retire the mod, or just update it to be a configurable adder of a couple of hacks."
      ______________________________
      As for the immersive rippers mod, it seems like the way that players will interact with Ripperdocs in 2.0 (more often, and with different upgrades) there COULD be potential bugs. From an article: "Update 2.0 will allow players to re-customise their appearance which includes altering things like tattoos and scars, which you can change at Ripperdocs."
      Idk if CDPR is changing the actual behavior of making your character sit down now, but there may be some conflicts. I haven't found any concrete evidence it'll break until the update happens though.

    I have installed the game via steam and if I wanted to clean my game from any mods, do I really have to uninstall and install it back again later? Or can I just delete those files and let steam redownload those asstets if it is important for the game?

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +1

      It’s kinda difficult because uninstalling and removing mod archives through vortex may sometimes bug out and leave leftover files or folders anyways. I showed it the way I did in my video because it’s likely the best way to really make sure you’ve cleanly reinstalled your game.
      That said, I think your way could work? As long as you didn’t manually install mods, it should be easy to use Vortex (or whatever mod manager you use) to delete all mod files.
      And if you did manually install mods, they’re not too hard to remove either. As long as you know which ones you downloaded in the past. All you’d need to do is download the manual files from their mod page again, see what folder file path they have in their .zip, and reference those locations in your game’s directory to remove identical folders. Lmk if that helps
      Edit: oh, and after, you can repair/check for missing files for your game on Steam in the game’s properties tab

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +1

      So SOME mods may work right now, especially if you’re downloading from the newly released tabs on Nexus.
      But a lot of the older, popular mods are still being updated to be compatible with 2.0 to my knowledge. Especially script heavy, older mods. I always recommend reading their description, change logs, and the posts tab of a mod on its Nexus page to see any discrepancies. So some work, some don’t.
      CDPR didn’t disable them but they DO recommend disabling them for the time being inside of the red launcher (there’s an option to disable/enable them when starting the game).

    Baulders gate three, I download a pak file, copy and paste it to the mods file, done, and it plays mods work no issues.
    I try modeling cyberpunk 2077 and there are 15 different prerequisite files that I have to download, no idea where they go, none of them are bin files, no solid explanations on file pathing.
    Why is it so ridiculously difficult to mod cyberpunk 2077 when it’s so easy to mod BG3 I could do it in my sleep?

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      That's why I usually just recommend using Vortex even if it's a pain in the ass to setup sometimes if you haven't used it recently.
      Not sure what the difficulties you're having with manual installation on Cyberpunk are though. I've found it to be simple enough once you've gotten the manual download mod files unzipped. Every mod I've downloaded manually typically has the same labelling as your Cyberpunk directory folders and it's easy enough to copy over files from what I've seen.
      Although, I agree that the 'abundance' of prerequisites gets pretty annoying, especially when it comes time to update them. Again, that's why I prefer Vortex usually unless I'm downloading simple clothing mods that don't often ever need updating. I might do an updated Cyberpunk modding guide video in the near future, but for now, best of luck!

    • @FoundaPeanut
      @FoundaPeanut Před 11 měsíci

      @@ArktechFilms it’s the prerequisite files that confuse the crap out of me, I don’t know which ones I actually need, which ones I don’t, and sometimes the prerequisite files require prerequisite files, so I end up downloading over six different things just to have some Boobas.
      And vortex is needlessly over complicated as well, it causes more problems with BG3 then any other way to MOD it.
      To MOD BG3, Is as easy as down loading the BG3ModManager, then making sure the mod you are down loading is a PAK file, move the PAK file to the mods folder, refresh the mod manager, move the mod from the right side of the mod manager to the left side of the mod manager, export your load order and press start.
      Why is it so easy for BG3, and over complicated for cyberpunk 2077?
      I think some of the people creating mods for cyberpunk 2077 feel they are so important to the moding community that they make it difficult for people to MOD and look down on people that want something as easy as a PAK file and a separate mod manager that is not vortex.

      I can try to provide a few options:
      1. Make sure you’ve updated your NVIDIA drivers if you have an NVIDIA graphics card. They recently released driver updates paired with Cyberpunk in mind to improve performance.
      2. Any leftover mods that are in your game files could definitely be causing performance issues. Some developers from CDPR even recommended purging/deleting all of your mods from your game directory and doing a clean installation, which is why I tried to cover that in this video. Some big mods have been updated for Patch 2.0, which is good. I’d take a look in Vortex mod manager (if that’s what you use) to see what you have enabled for your game, and if any of them are currently out of date and causing potential issues. If you manually installed mods by directly dropping the files into relevant folders, they’re harder to track down and update, if you didn’t make a note of them (that’s where clean installations come in handy)
      3. Finally, this video might have a few extra performance tricks for you. I haven’t watched it but maybe it’ll help out: m.czcams.com/video/35uU5k8420E/video.html

      First thing I'd check is if you have mods enabled in Redlauncher. I think they auto-disabled that option or at least recommended it be ticked off for playing 2.0. Its just the gear icon next to the play button on the launcher.
      I'm sure you downloaded Red4Ext already but if you didn't make sure to grab that mod. The mod author says to check the Red4Ext logs to see if you're having issues:
      "(Optional) Check the log file in /red4ext/logs/red4ext.log to make sure everything works."
      Idk what else would be the issue if you only had Red4Ext and TweakXL, unless there's other mods you downloaded that depend TweakXL, and they're out of date? Lmk if you get it figured out. Also, CDPR might issue bug fix patches soon, idk if those will screw up any mods but be sure to always check that they're up to date if a patch does get rolled out.

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      Yeah that’s tricky, sorry that happened. Some mods may still need updates themselves for whatever reason, even if their major dependencies like RED4ext already got updated. I can try to give you some options but idk how valid they’ll be.
      1. Reverting your game files to Patch 1.63 may let you get appearance change unlocker working. If you’re able to load up your character in the mirror, you can then video record every single preset you have applied to your character (this is what I did). Then, I set up a clean installation of my game, started a new save, made a character, and referenced the video I took to reapply the exact presets. I didn’t cover how to revert steam to older versions of the game because I’m not super confident with that method. You need to be careful and backup your save files before doing anything else (I show how in this video) in case they get corrupted. This article shows you how to revert games on Steam: www.makeuseof.com/how-to-downgrade-steam-games/
      Also, Nexus mods should have older mod files from previous mod updates if you need to redownload them.
      2. Wait for all of the mods you want to keep to get their updates. And/or disable a bunch of mods that may be incompatible with 2.0. Appearance change unlocker has been updated so make sure you follow exactly what the pinned post here says on this link to make sure it works: www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3850?tab=posts
      This method is tedious because you’ll have to be checking all the mods in your load order on the Vortex mod manager. Idk if you deleted your mods completely as well when you were reinstalling, though.

      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      That's weird. It's possible everything got deleted but not plausible. Usually if you've previously installed a game, and then uninstalled it, Steam will still at LEAST leave behind a folder with the game's title, even if it's empty. There's a chance you installed it to an atypical location. Best way to find out (If you did install the game through steam in the past) is to right click Cyberpunk 2077 in your steam game list > properties > installed files > and then click the "browse" button to pull up the file explorer location

    CDPR recommends you start a completely new save if you want to have the highest chance of avoiding any bugs in your game.
    1 other option I forgot to mention. If you’ve installed ALL your mods in Vortex, you can try disabling all of them to play Patch 2.0, and wait for those mods to get updates.
    It gets trickier if you’ve also manually installed mods like I have though. They’re difficult to keep track of, and difficult to remove properly. This is why I’ve opted to start with a clean game installation. Make sure to backup your saves if necessary!

      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@aakashdusane first you should make backups of those files and your game directory if you have space, like I showed in the video. Then, delete ALL your mods and do the clean install but keep your saves in your folder and start loading them up to test the game. To be safe, before doing all this, I’d suggest removing any modded items from your inventory, and try entering an area that wouldn’t typically have a lot of mod objects or scripts loaded (such as your unmodified apartment).
      As an example, I’d dump all modded items out of my inventory in one spot on the map, then fast travel directly to my apartment, make a save, and then do my clean install/file removal.
      Then on the 2.0, I’d load up that save in my apartment. If the game loads, I’d run around for a bit and see if the game still works. Good luck!

    I want to play cyberpunk with mods should I play 2.0 version or 1.63 legacy version on steam

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      Definitely play the 2.0 version. Most of the larger gameplay changing mods that were on 1.63 are replaced by (arguable) better, more optimized systems. Such as the vehicle combat and police overhauls with Patch 2.0, plus general AI behaviors and other improvements.
      It may take a little while but a lot of mod authors are working hard to get their mods updated for 2.0. As it stands, 2.0 and Phantom Liberty offer a lot more you wouldn’t want to miss out on than staying back in patch 1.63. Ultimately it’s up to you, but I chose to update my game and wait until the mods I like are updated again.
      But if you REALLY want mods, the options are to wait for updates, download mods from the NEW category on Nexus that are being released, or play on 1.63

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      None that I used. The update is so expansive and alters the files to such an extent that pretty much every CDPR dev is recommending you disable your mods or delete them all together, at least for now.
      Thankfully, I know that many great mod authors work very hard and as quickly as they can to get the major mods updated after a new patch. Just have to wait a little bit I think.

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Short answer: Yes, you can reinstall and update mods for any update, and you won't be violating anything.
      Longer answer: So if you delete them and reinstall them, you need to be certain that they've received an update by the mod creator first. With Cyberpunk, some mods don't break from a new update BUT their required mods WILL still need an update. (Usually mods like Cyber Engine Tweaks will need updating).
      As long as your mods are updated properly, your save games should be fine as well. Best way to know if a mod needs updating still is to read the mod page's description tab and posts tab to see if the author has left a comment about that.
      If you do that for many updates, you won't be banned at all. In fact, CDPR endorses the practice of modding if you want to add to your game which is why they built RedMod. So yes, you can reinstall and update mods for any update.

      @ArktechFilms  Před 10 měsíci

      Nothing should happen to your saves since they're in a separate folder from where your game is installed/uninstalled. The only thing to worry about is what mods were used on that save.
      If you ran a lot of mods on a save file and then delete all those mods, the save may have bugs, issues loading, or it may get corrupted. If you didn't have mods or had very few, there's a solid chance your saves will be fine.

      It’s not super difficult but I think doing it through a mod manager like Vortex is better just for the sake of easy tracking and mod management.
      Manual installation is annoying for when you need to update the mod or remove its folders. If you go with manual mod installation, just make sure you keep track of which mods you manually install on a google doc.

      You can clean install/delete all remaining files there. If you’re using Vortex to manage your mods then it’s as simple as disabling or deleting them all through Vortex.
      If you had mods manually installed, it’s easiest to try and remove them from your Epic Games directory

    I had Hyst EBBP and vanilla refits installed. After PL downloaded, redlauncher started, advised that it had deactivated any mods and then crashed. Can't start the game in Steam now as Redlauncher won't initialize, had to set a short cut to the CP exe

    • @ArktechFilms
      @ArktechFilms  Před 11 měsíci

      So even if redlauncher disabled mods, and you even ticked to disable mods, the leftover files can still cause problems with your game which is likely why CDPR recommended to delete all your old mods, for compatibility sake. So maybe an outdated mod is screwing with Redlauncher? You’d probably have to google that issue of Redlauncher not starting, as I’m sure others have encountered that problem.
      I guess the big thing is to see if those mods you have are updated properly. If the game launches directly through the .exe, that’s a good sign at least.
