@@1718cv Mark most assuredly did write “Mary, Did You Know,” when he was 26 years old. Buddy Greene wrote the music. And Mark would be the first to tell you that Jesus is THE center of Christmas, the reason for getting up every day, the very breath in our bodies. The shirt is just a goofy shirt, not a mission statement. There’s nothing wrong with having fun. We worship Jesus, not Santa. Jesus laughed and had fun, but He never lost His focus on His ministry, and Mark is like that, following Christ’s example.

This amazing song packs so much in it…a young woman as a new mother ponders over all her hopes and dreams of what the world may hold for her baby Son and what it all means. With the prophecy already unfolding, the visitation of the angels, shepherds and magi were but a beginning of the wonders that were to follow. As she held His tiny body and her full heart ruminated over the many possibilities, in remembering the angel’s words, she had to sense on some level just how profound His birth truly was for His people and later on, for all mankind. Whether or not Mary comprehended the overall divine purpose for her Son Jesus’ life & what it encompassed can only leave us to wonder. It was an exclusive sacred pact between her and the Lord. As the song implores of her if she knew, we can only guess at how much she understood and could fathom the magnitude of what had been placed upon her, and ultimately, her son Jesus. 😇✝️😇
