Using scripture as evidence

  • Matt Dillahunty and Jeff Dee on the atheist experience get a call from a man who among other things claims that men has less ribs than women because of the story about Adam and Eve even though this is easily disproven by picking up an anatomy book.
It's weird how people can use scripture as evidence when they either don't know how the story goes or the story is easily disproven.

The rib argument confuses me so much, not only is it ridiculously easy to refute, but unless god actually altered Adam's genes so he had one less rib for no apparent reason, there's no way that taking a rib would be hereditary. It's like saying if someone cut off my finger, all my descendants will be lacking a finger.

A bigger question for me is: if the biblical god was omnipotent, and made Adam from dust, then why did it have to violate Adam's bodily integrity in order to create Eve? Did it forget the recipe?

    • @noneofyourbeeswax01
      @noneofyourbeeswax01 Před 9 lety +5

Ƒȓǟǹǩ Ɫⱥțȇȓ: "if the biblical god was omnipotent, and made Adam from dust, then why did it have to violate Adam's bodily integrity in order to create Eve? Did it forget the recipe?"
My belief is that after licking the Bowl clean of Primordial Matter & Energy left over after his Mummy had finished making a nice big bowl of yummy Universe, god tried copying her to make a little clay Barbie to partner the little clay Ken that Mummy had made to top off her Universe.
Unfortunately, he didn't quite know exactly how Mummy did it (he wasn't yet old enough to read Mummy's Recipe Books or to play with Supernovae and other hot things), so he pinched out a rib while Mummy was on the 'phone to Baal and hoped she wouldn't notice. That's why women go a bit wrong from time to time, getting weepy or shrill or hysterical, that's why they have difficulty parking cars and are prone to leaking fluids from their undercarriages on a fairly regular basis.
I have always been a sceptic and a rational thinker myself, and my interest in science is extensive enough that I feel that it would not be unreasonable to describe myself as a de facto scientist, per se. Because I understand the Scientific Method, and because I can speak in the terminology of Science, I think that perhaps I can communicate the facts in a manner atheistic so-called "skeptics" and "scientists" can relate to.
With this is mind, I shall refer to this theoretical model using appropriate nomenclature, thus it will henceforth be referred to as "The Sub-Adolescent Supernatural Entity of Indeterminate Gender in His/Her/It's Mum's Kitchen Scraping the Bottom of the Bowl Creation Hypothesis" (T.S.A.S.E.I.G.H.H.I.M.K.S.B.B.C.H.) - or "Kitchen God" in short. You will note that it is REAL science, because it is an HYPOTHESIS and not JUST a "THEORY".
I should also point out that your so-called "science" (which in any case limits itself to a mere materialistic view of the world), is not the haven of so-called "atheists" that you Darwinists seem to believe. There are literally several scientists who are not convinced that "so-called" monkeys evolved from a big bang with a missing link when you can't even show a single fossil that isn't either a fake or simply misinterpreted.
Radio Carbon dating has been scientifically proven not to work (But Kitchens do). Not a single transitional kind has ever been observed evolving into another transitional kind (But Kitchens have been observed).
And the nail in the coffin for orthodox science is that they sent a space probe a billion miles to a comet in outer space, just to crash it!
My own belief is that god was punishing scientists for their arrogance; Man was given dominion over the earth and it's creatures, NOT over comets and outer space. Do you have any idea just how many churches could have been built with the money wasted by NASA? Every child in the world could have had a fragment of the True Cross and a copy of "Of Pandas and People" and there would STILL be something left over to build a new Kitchen Creation Science University Campus or two in the Bible Belt and perhaps some beach-front properties in The Bahamas.
A conspiracy among the so-called "atheists" of the so-called "scientific community" has largely kept the voices of dissenting scientists hushed up - but my colleagues and I are fighting back, and have formed a group promoting the teaching of the Scientifically-proven account of Genesis to be included in every text book and taught in every school and college as a valid scientific alternative to so-called real science, and for a Constitutional Amendment to fund research into Kitchen God Creationist Science.
Any real scientist not fooled by the claims of a so-called scientific community who insist on observation for proof yet who admit to never having seen a Crocoduck, is welcome to join our ever-growing group; we call ourselves the Association of Religious Scientists of Elevated Spirituality (or, A.R.S.E.S. for short)
Not one of you so-called "evolutionists" have EVER been able to prove what happened before the Big Bang (which again, is just a theory). Just like the evil Satanic Book of Lies that all you Darwin-worshippers with your idolatrous worship of EVIL-ution hail as your Bible, "On The Origin of Species" sustains your religion of so-called "atheism", but you have not been able to prove that god doesn't exist... why, even your very own atheistic scientists ADMIT that they cannot make something from nothing, or nothing from something, or nothing from nothing... or something... like that... but Kitchen god can and did!
Now I know that atheists tend to be sceptics, and the first thing they demand is invariably "show me the evidence!" - so I have forestalled this by listing some - and by no means all - of the evidence that PROVES the existence of Kitchen God and PROOF of the Scraping the Bottom of the Bowl Creation Hypothesis:
      01) There is no proof of so-called Evil-ution.
      02) You have to have faith.
      03) You so-called "atheists" do believe really, you're just lying to yourself.
      04) Your so-called "science" can't make a human being
      05) Why would there be kitchens if it weren't true? Kitchens exists, ergo God does.
      06) My god is not JUST a theory.
      07) I know my Kitchen God exists because I prayed for a sign right there as I was kneeling in the kitchen, and the very moment I opened my eyes I saw the wonder of the Kitchen Lord's appliances all around me... what more evidence could you possibly want?
      08) Kitchens exist. The sole reason for their existence is to create. Therefore, Kitchen God.
      09) Kitchen God is obviously taught right from wrong by Kitchen Mummy. If you don't believe in Kitchen God, where do you get your so-called "morals" from?
      10) Kitchens are useless without human beings to populate them; clearly then, Kitchens, which are designed for humans, are part of the universe, thus the both Universe and kitchen show unmistakeable signs of being intelligently designed - thereby proving the existence of an Intelligent Kitchen designer.
      11) If you refuse to believe you will certainly spend eternity being basted in a foil-lined baking tray on the top shelf (see manufacturer's notes for Fan-Assisted Ovens) at Gas Mark 6.
      12) You weren't there, so how do you know?
      13) The three degree microwave cosmic background radiation PROVES that the Universe was created in a Microwave Oven.
      14) You can't prove it's not true.
      15) There is no proof of so-called Evil-ution.
Furthermore, the Bible actually PROVES this all to be scientific fact. I know it sounds hard to believe, but if we take a look at the Book of Revelations, squint at the words a bit, stay up for a week on a mix of Methedrine, Methadone, Mescaline and Marijuana whilst listening to a tape of White Noise's "An Electric Storm in Hell" THEN select random Bible verses alternating with random pages from Kitchen Appliance brochures, you will see, just as did I, that it all makes so much sense! It was blindingly clear! I knew it ALL! True, I had forgotten much of it when I woke up naked and shivering in a pile of my own vomit three days later, but clearly Kitchen God chose to reveal these truths to me when I most needed him, like the true god that he is. None of your Spaghetti Bolognese monsters here, thank you so very much!!
Anyway, I hope I gave those with a brain not fogged by evil-utionist so-called propaganda some serious proven scientific hard facts to ponder!

One example of such evidence is the connection between the old testament and older sumerian myth. The evidence of copying, modification, a gradual move from polythism to monotheism, and even the gradual change of Yahweh from a lesser god to a creator god.
A good example of this is how the story of Noah was adapted to Jewish culture/the bible from its earlier form in Gilgamesh.
We also know a lot about the mechanisms involved in primitive belief systems such as animism etc.

Being bound to something (or not) and denial of rights also come after manifestation. We are either talking about Him existing in which case we can debate rights and obligations, or the premise is that he does not exist, in which case suggesting He is bound to fairness or has rights is moot. So, which is it? Do you normally have opinions and issue judgement about things that you do not believe exist?
