This connects with me on a deeper level. To me this video represents a person, tormented and surrounded by their own thoughts, fears, and judgement. I see myself in that.

I think this video would only hold value to those who have dealt with self loathing. To people who have hated themselves this is probably how they've felt.
It's like a depression; a depression so intense and consuming, you can't escape it and trying to fight it only makes it worse. It's heavy, kinda like the video portrayed it: this mucky, thick, vile stuff. Not only is it depression, but just all of the shit that goes down in life that you never let go of.

Seems like a tortured soul trying to break out of its skins. All to often, a familiar feeling felt by many. The feeling of being trapped in ones body can make us all want to tear away our skin. Just a thought.

After they released the Valtari album they conducted this film experiment and put it out there into the world for people to make videos for the songs. The Valtari mystery film experiment ended up with some utterly awesome, heart wrenching and thought provoking videos ever seen. They're probably all here on youtube.

It was made in negative. They only film a man moving some kind of sticky mud but in negative tones. The result is amazing.

Probably none of that to be honest. What it looks like to me, is, a lot of liquid latex and him just rubbing it around on himself. Probably reduced the saturation quite a bit and the made the colors negative. Other than the color grading this was probably all done in real time.
