Thanks. "Visions of Mortality" best song in this line-up!!
dude , you look like Martin Eric Ain circa " Vanity/Nemesis " had he grown a beard back then lol
@@slayer5813 I completely agree with you
Thank you brother
Monotheist was a brutal masterpiece and a perfect album to cap off Celtic Frost.
Yes it's my favorite album,,and it's certainly the heaviest
Absolutely agree, just discovered Frost and the monotheist album is top 5 for me, blew me away, and the best of all their albums imo, heavy and dark and a completely underrated band. 🤘🏻
Monotheist was mind blowing.
This album was awesome I love it 🥰🤩
It keeps getting better with age.
"Immortality is but a dream.
My life turns to sand..."
R.I.P. Martin.
Only death is real - RIP Martin \m/
He had a way with words!
Gotta be careful what lyrics we write 😉👂🙏🏼🕯
RIP Martin Ain.
he was truly a sweet soul...
Hail to an evil legend \m/
What makes his death even worse is now there can never be a Celtic Frost again :(
Thank god/satan we still have Triptykon tho...
Viel zu früh
Yes RIP M. AIN. you made great music.
Now he knows there is a God.
Amazing live. The sound is HUGE. Tom is probably the most influential musician in extreme metal.
Yeah and people don’t even realize
I saw them live before a bunch of times!! 🙋🎼🪦☠️🌠⚡🔱🎵🎤🎸🥁💥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🙋
Up there, but many before Tom...Cronos my #1
@@zeny7155 not even close to Tom and Celtic Frost
you seem to forget about martin eric ain which had a big role in cf success.
Lay thy hand on the neck of thine enemy...best opening lyric ever IMO
Funniest part about it is that it's scripture iirc. Goes hard
This was the best comeback ever
Indeed
A newly reunited band closing their festival gig with the 14 minute song from their new album shows a band with true faith in their new material. How to remain relevant & do justice to your legacy. Eternal Frost worship \m/
fine line between music and magic and this band walks the tight rope
It was in 1985 when I got into Celtic Frost for the first time. Rock and Roll Heaven was around the corner from my house in Clark, NJ, the retail outlet of Megaforce Records. My dad owned a funeral home where my band would cover iron maiden songs. We played the first three Maiden albums with dead bodies in my basement. I miss those days as I miss him. My mother wanted that store out of my town and did all in her power to shut that place down. She wanted it gone and invented the rumors about that place that continues to circulate in Clark even today. My dad saved the genre of music we all love from my mom's rumor mongering back then, at least Megaforces store in Clark. He prevented her from going to the mayor and getting it thrown out of town. RIP Mrs Zazula.
one of the heaviest guitar tones ever
I'm infinite percent agree with you
Agreed omg soooooo heavy
Delicious deep dark treats sang by Emperor Palpatine !
" Guitar tones " ? Are you , by any chance , listening to what´s going on with those drums ?
They turn the tone knob all the way down on their guitars and then turn all the knobs up on the amp, besides the gain knob. That stays in the middle lol. So you cut all the treble then add it back with the amp. That’s what gives them their signature fat as Mother Earth midrange heavy guitar tone lol
sounds like direct transmission from hell
TOTALLY!!!! EVIL!
@A Baller: Yes, some are (or were) murderers, church burners, and practising Satanists. Look at the history of black metal (particularly in the 90s) for evidence.
@A Baller The idea of "Monotheist" album is the denial of God, this is true Satanism, not painted face and petty hooliganism.
Sounds like my kind of heaven
R.I.P. Martin Ain.
man that guitar sound is brutal as hell
Gotta roll that tone knob back to get his sound
Forward, roll it forward. Metal has only one pickup, one tone and one volume: bridge, open and full-throttle. Everything else is up to your rig.
yes, but Tom rolls it back to achieve his sound
Actually its a Marshall JCM800 dirty channel with Ibanez Tubescreamer at max but you can achive this sound with every high gain tube amp like Mesa Rec , 5150 , ENGL . The key is the Tubescreamer as a boost for the distortion channel to get that extra nasty gain .
Fuck I guess so brutal
Such a fucking badass band. Nobody comes close to the dark/doom sound Tom invented this shit, he's so fucking bad man shit. give it up.
+Kerry Fischer Well there was black sabbath before so i think the doom in celtic frost music is pretty much influenced by black sabbath...but yeah CF definitly put the bar to a more extreme doomish sound.
+Blutroth dont forget type o negative too
Candlemass, Swans, Autopsy and Morbid Angel as well.
R.I.P. Martin Ain 1967/2017
Their music never gets old. Absolute gods of metal
I saw Celtic Frost at Blondie's in the 80's several times! ⚡🙋
All I can say is my god what a performance
If this song isn't played at my funeral I'm not fucking going!
Me either!
Love this concert! Shows Martin Eric Ain was a solid frontman in his own right. Wish CF gave us more of him over the years.
THERE IS NO GOOOOOOOD. Yeah, agreed. What an artist.
martin was playing bass and was not the frontman of this band. he only sing a few things. martin did sing with jan graber band and even sing a full jan graber album but its not death or doom metal. the sad part about cf is tom left celtic frost and now martin is dead (rip). martin did play a big role in celtic frost success and we can see that tom could not even come close to it with his new band without martin.
I have seen more concerts of the Big Four than care to mention and loved it all and there music. This one song though just fucking rules Crypt of Rays, I bought Morbid Tales as a kid at 13 years old had one pound pocket money. Took a gamble on it second hand vinyl out a record store, 36 years on I love it even more.......................
"I shall rise, I shall rule in blasphemy. And in the end when thou art mine, thou shalt be like me. In the lake of fire and brimstone, forever and ever." Best line ever written in black metal/doom metal imo. God DAMN.
All of Wacken was standing in awe. Wow
Fuck they put on a show! Man what I would give for someone at Wacken to just leak a hi-res version of this concert. It's so fucking good. R.I.P Martin Eric Ain
These versions of ´To Mega Therion` are the most brutal Metal songs ever created . They just crush and grind you down like no other band out there , any style ...
Indeed, it seems Celtic Frost came back a thousand times heavier and darker. Monotheist was unbelievable. Not that their old stuff wasnt powerful, but Monotheist blew my brains out.
Thomas G. Warrior is top 5 metal front men. What a bad ass!!
he's so fucking badddd. master of heavy.
He is the NUMBER 1

HEYYYYYYY!
one of the darkest live in wacken open air.
This shit is so fucking heavy that its orbiting around the sun by itself!
This concert is art
Awesomeness...they started the concert with the most kickass song
+kuraki dupaki yep...and i debuted one of my very first workout vids using "Ain Elohim" as the theme song..the song drives me even now

Brutal !!! At its best !!! Celtic frost is the king
Celtic Frost was my second concert I attended, Never Forget It!!! R.I.P. Martin Ain!!!\m/
One of the best live videos I have ever seen. Came back to it to homage Martin Ain. What a fucking great performance here. R.I.P.
the most influencial band in metal history.
a category on their own
YOU KNOW THE STORY!
Agreed!🙋
have you ever heard of black sabbath???
@@greekneek i am 52 years old with 5000 metal records and whole discography of Sabbath...do you want me to proceed?????
IN MY OPINION YES...CELTIC FROST ARE MORE INFLUENCIAL TOT HSI THING WE CALL BLACKENED METAL!!!
@@panagiotischaralampopoulos7152 im just messing bro, you said metal overall so i mentioned sabbath.. for black metal of course you are correct
kalo mina. na se kala
I'm 46 years old and grew up with CELTIC FROST EXODUS SLAYER and VENOM. now I listen to bands like AKHLYS BATUSHKA CHAOS MOON LYKATHEA AFLAME and SCHAMMASCH.
Roman Ramirez For liste ing to Batushka, I salut you man.
Me and a buddy talk about how we're lucky to have been born when we were. We missed the 80s and were born in the 90s, but at least the older bands are still touring so we can see em once before they all retire.
Saw Hellhammer and the OG Misfits in vegas. Thatll never happen again probably. Who cares if youre in debt, see em before theyre gone for good.
Metal for life amigos.
So much better than the studio version.
I can't stop listening to this...4th time in a row...this f*cking ROCKS!!
That drummer is a beast
He is, but he is just playing what Reed St. Mark played on the album.
Boy Howdy !
I SAW CELTIC FROST INTO THE PANDEMONIUM TOUR IN 1988!
Ah man I was not even born then
Me too. Hammersmith Odeon front row!
@@simonmorris361 I live in the U.S.and it was a club gig, i stood wherever i wanted, great show!
i saw celtic frost with possessed in 1986
Necromantical Screams sounds better than studio version. I love this tone guitar. So crushing.
Was thinking the same thing. Skull crushing
Best band ever to exist.
i was there when i was 18 and i wait till this day for a band that sounds this heavy live. only crowbar came close.
This is music. I listen to it to be positive
look absolutely fucking terrifying and their sound matches it. HAIL CELTIC FUCKING FROST
Necromantical sintetiza todo o poder do CF, chão desse lugar deve ter tremido quando começou esta música, pqp, o metal extremo como deve ser! Frio, pesado e minimalista!
Fucking love the drums!
CelticFrost 🤘🇨🇭=KING
Yet to hear a better 'comeback' album than Monotheist. Great era for CF.
Amazing still to this day. Brings me back to my childhood every time i hear the early stuff from Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion, and Monotheist is so dark and brutal. Great fucking band. RIP
The guitar tone is wicked. Makes "Into The Crypts of Rays" sound totally evil.
Godfather's of de-tuned metal.

I remember seeing Celtic Frost at the Birmingham Powerhouse in 97, they had Virus and Kreator as support, they were amazing, stayed with them until the Parched with thirst and dying am I album, then lost track of them. I know a lot of people knock it but "into the pandemonium" is a great album to listen to via your headphones!
You mean 1987. I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon same tour, October 31 1987. I will never forget that show. Kreator were incredible too. What a privilege to be there.
+Chris Ward Into the Pandemonium is an amazing fucking album! Its different from the earlier stuff but so interesting and inspired.

Eternal life to Celtic Frost:
The strongest and the most extreme band of all universe, of all existence and all times.
Rest In Peaces Martin Eric Ain
I was introduced to this group back in the 80s by a dear old friend who sadly is no longer with us. They are one of the best thrash death metal bands out there. I never did get to see them. Back then I was still listening to Iron Maiden , who also rock.
🙋
RIP Martin Eric Ain.. 1967-2017
I like these Martin Ain's vocals
+Baleburg I agree. Martin Ain is such a distinguished vocalist and bassist that I wished there was more of his vocals in Monotheist! He is such a master!
Tom is vibing HARD here and I fucking LOVE IT.
I know they fell out....but Franco Sesa's drums are incredible on this
Does he play in any band nowadays? Love his playing here.
🥁🔱💥🔥🙋
Great line up, each one of them is such a badass performer. Too bad they couldn't get along better behind the scenes.
Tremenda y legendaria banda...sin ella miles de rockstar no existirian!!!
I miss this band... HAIL CELTIC FROST!!! RIP Eric...
I really appreciate when a band is able to change the way their old stuff sound live, I don't if I could express myself properly, but the thing is that all the old songs sound "doom" at this gig. Great job.
Great recording, the sound is very true to the live impression, so glad I was there! I had never heard anything by CF before, so this blew me away completely. Definitely an all-time-favorite concert!
R.I.P MARTIN
Extreme metal legends 👀
UUUUGHH!!!
Remember the 80's,buying To Mega Therion and Into the Pandemonium on vinyl, before that heaviest I bought was punk and Motorhead, Sabbath, Venom etc, big joy for Frost
Man this is my favourite concert
amazing performance right here. And the drummer completely Kills it ! awesome share
This live is pure liturgy and this guitar is like liturgical vessel
Saw them on the last tour they playd and now today is sad to say godbye to one of the Members. Martin Rest in Peace. Your sound helped me in hard times.
I took a hit of l.s.d.for the 1rst time,and my buddy played .morbid tales,whoa scary shit!1986!
I used to do that and just sit in pitch dark and listen to Meshuggah hahah
What amazing heavy performance...
The gods must have feared...
great song, real metal, good musicians,
Tom G. looks like he is about to rob the concession stand.
And to hide the bald head
"Sir, can you describe the assailant?"
"Yes, about 5'6", clad in all black, wearing face paint over the eyes and very bitter looking. As he ran off with the money he let out this weird grunt."
