We were dancing to Grace’s first single “I need a man” in 1975. She dropped three more singles in ‘76. The first three of her ten studio albums were released in the late ‘70’s and received a lot of play in the trendiest clubs especially in NYC, SF, & LA. My two favorite albums by Grace were her forth, 1980’s Warm Leatherette, and her fifth, ‘81’s Nightclubbing. During that time, you could go clubbing and chances were high they were spinning Grace at every stop. She has always had a healthy respect for her talent and originality. Madonna has complained bitterly that Gaga copied her, when the truth is Grace was the first Queen and everything since is derivative or, as Madonna had the nerve to say about Gaga, “reductive”. I’m afraid I got “captured” by your tribute to Grace and took a long trip down memory lane. Not too many of us who were out and active in the ‘70’s are alive to reminisce. ☮️❤️

I saw Grace perform live about 7 times in the mid-late 80s in Florida. She was so intense! the ultimate performer, gracious, tenacious, outrageous, and the epitome of "WILD"!

I realize that there are people who have been fans for longer, but that doesn't change the fact. Grace is definitely an influence for Gaga--no doubt. But, she's even got even more darkness in her than Grace. Gaga's very deep and diverse; people just have to really give her a try. Either way, they are both awesome and I love them both.
