Great video! This debate is such a personal thing, depends on so many factors like geography, place in life, lifestyle, etc. My biggest financial mistake was buying a condo. Love that you mentioned opportunity costs as a pro for renting, nobody brings this up. My lifestyle is to travel to different places for 3 months at a time so definitely in the team rent.

This is very helpful. A lot of people are also encouraging me to buy a property but upon computing the PR ratio, I got more than 35. I guess renting is good for now but I am still eyeing to buy our own house in the future. 😊

Wow! Great explanation and pov. This actually pulled a lot of thorns from the pressure of buying a property. You’re not bias at all. I think it’s safe to say to watch this kind of videos first than talk to a financial advisor and the like because they’ll put a big pressure and assurance that’s far from reality (sometimes). You’re right, when I think about our 35K mo. loan house repayment for 15years, compare to when we were renting for only 10K, it’s such a burden but somewhat thankful.

Thanks Charm. This is very helpful. Our house is almost complete around Rizal which I partially own and I want to have my second home in a condo after five years. But considering what you said in the whole video, I am now seriously considering to rent a condo in Makati. I don't see myself staying in one place for a very long time, ten years is actually too long for me. It's really good to sit down and talk about these matters as renting has a very negative connotation (I grew up with it) but with all the points you mentioned, it's not as bad as it may seem and might really work better for some people.
