It's a funny scene, but if you know about Pathfinder lore that scene is complete BS. You and Areelu, two demigods, go to Boneyeard, flip the bird at Pharasma, one of the strongest deities in the setting, at her own home turf no less, and she can do nothing about it. She would whoop both their asses without effort
@@exantiuse497 Pretty sure that scene was implied to happen way after the epilogue. Beside you do get a pretty major power boost to your divinity from your followers after your deeds in the mortal realm.
@@exantiuse497 Well it hard to judge how powerful Arelu and the Commander would be at this stage. Also Pharasma's philosophy may made her choose to not interfere with the commander's wishes, or her age after all she is one of the eldest gods and may not care much for the antics of two upstarts.
@@exantiuse497 actually, if you didn't intervene when Pharasma is trying to judge ascended Areelu, to Areelu surprise, Pharasma doesn't care if commander is going to retaliate and one shot Areelu. Not even judging her soul or what, she just destroyed Areelu as if she's nothing, not even worth the judgement.
There is one slide missing toward the end. And afterward until forevermore, the Commander and his godly companions would gather every Thursday night to play Table-top Role-playing Games. Sometime they were Fusion Cyberpunk Fantasy Mercenaries, other times they are Super Heroes and Villains in a comic book world. But once in a while, they would break out a AP of Wraith of the Righteous and replay their past life in radically different choices.
To find this way, you normally have to exactly know what is going on right from the beginning. And to know that, you normally have to have played the game at least once already.
@Nikioko If you want this specific ending (6 crystals for all companions and Areelu to ascend) you need to make the correct decisions all the way from the prologue onwards. The "regular" ascension ending (only the commander ascends, reauires 1 crystal) is not THAT difficult, I almost got it on my blind playthrough (although I didn't find Areelu's secret lab and the correct date would've been impossible to guess) but I don't think anyone could get the perfect 6 crystal ending blind
@@Nikioko I actually got this ending (6 crystals, Angel path) almost entirely by my own. The only part I looked up was the date. I surmise that you are supposed to be able to learn it from the researches you do, but the ending text for those was blank. Which is what prompted me to look it up in the first place! That said I'm not claiming it would be easy or likely, lol
I figured the midnight bolts where important, but I did not know you should actually use them against demon lords. I overlooked that part. I did not find the secret lab within her lab so there might be some clues there I have overlooked. idk.
I like how few fucks Pharasma gives. Areelu is trying to be smug and rub in her victory and pharasma couldn’t be less bothered. Her attitude to their escape might as well be “ok”
What the hell. How is it humanly possible to achieve such a good ending? I finished the game after 107hrs and did not even manage to complete the Storyteller quest!
I put a whopping 200+ hours and sacrified hours of sleep and not only did I get a mediocre ending, it was also BUGGED TO SHIT and only showed me the very first slide in the epilogue ashajdhkaha RIP me
@@Rhygenix agreed, some of the requirements for the secret ending just come off as obnoxious. For example the “time of year” one doesn’t make much sense and locks you out if you spend a lot of time maximizing crusade stats. Requiring players to find areelu’s notes in the secret window in the secret lab that requires the other secret key, at some point it just ends up forcing everyone to use a guide or be disappointed by the their outcome despite getting all the necessary information, motivation, and resources.
getting this secret ending is absolutely bonkers, i'm pretty sure i did everything which was required, except for not choosing an evil or neutral answer to one of her questions in Act2 or early Act 3 (and at that point you don't even know it's her).
The part that makes my head hurt the most is this. Pharasma is not just goddes of death and rebirth and whatnot. Did you ever wonder how in Pathfinder you could resurrect people? How their souls of the dead aren't instantly judged and distributed to Outer Planes like Heaven and Hell? Well, the lore explanation for that is Pharasma foresees stuff like resurrection and reincarnation and thus postpones her judgement Does that mean she foresaw Commander and Areelu's ascension? And knew they would come to her afterwards just to flip her? If so, man... Being a goddess of fate sucks Edit: Oh, and according to Pathfinder lore, there was a god named Aroden. He was destined to die, Pharasma knew it. And guess what? Iomedae is still pissed about that. And Aroden's clergy? When the new reached up to them, it ended up with a series of fights between them and clergy of Pharasma
That part makes no sense. She is clearly surprised by the Commander's power, but she shouldn't be if she foresaw it. I guess the devs retconned her foresight powers for the game

And ALL omniscient creatures in ALL types of narrative create a myriad of continuity problems I mean, even in the original module... Did she know about the creation of the Worldwound in advance? Did she choose not to tell any other god about that? Is she cool with sudden influx of dead souls? Why is everyone so cool about Pharasma not telling anything about the Worldwound? Do Pharasma's followers know she is ok with opening of a permanent extradimentional gateway to the plane shittier than Hell itself? Are they cool with that? Why is everyone in Golarion cool with that? And the list goes on

@@exantiuse497 The simple answer is she wouldn't have been able to see it. Deities have dominion over the mortal realm, not one another. I like to think of "fate" as what SHOULD happen. It is simply a reality that what should be...isn't always what is. The truth is that even the immortal gods can bleed and die. They can be wrong. They can fail. Pharasma is said to be the last survivor of the previous dead multiverse...her knowledge and wisdom would be unparalleled. Perhaps to a mortal being we would call such a thing "fate" or "omniscience"...far beyond our understanding, whatever it is.
Nope. Wenduag is the best and most loyal waifu. Camellia is the worst [the only person Ember (who even made Hulrun who killed her father a better person) dislikes]. Even Daeran has some conscience despite being a total degenerate
So the moral is: in the end you can cause hundreds of years of suffering and death, but if you are cunning, you will conquer heaven with violence and some amount of intellect. Not that they really changed the world order or knew how to make the world better - just escaped their mortal fate.
She was born and raised while he was alive. Habit is hard to break. But yeah, the game gets a few details of the lore wrong. (Like calling what should be the Archon path the Angel path.)

I don't understand why that is. It says you spoiled her plans by not closing the Wound, so I assume she needed that gone to ascend, but I thought you did close it (or absorbed its power or whatever). I wonder if that's a bug, a lot of the endings have bugs after all
@@exantiuse497 I THINK it's because you basically keep her too busy putting out fires resulting from your not closing the Wound, meaning she doesn't spend time in contemplation. She will likely eventually go through the Redeemer path (indeed, that is Paizo canon) but it will be put off a lot longer than otherwise
@@mduckernz Baphemoth survives in canon yet dies in this ending, and Deskari dies in canon and lives in most other endings, so maybe the endings aren't supposed to be canon?

Took me a long time to get this ending, but it was worth it. I like the idea of becoming a god alongside the love you chose. So my angel self becomes a god with Arushalae at his side, all in all a great story.

In my ending. I saved Camellia & Daeran but Greybr dead Camellia : After accession and become a demigod she still love to murder innocent ppl (murderous lip licking...). Embarrassed by her action, One day she just disappears and never return Daeran : After accession Daeran just party all day and let everyone in Golarion worship him like a deity Horgus Gwerm : He sold his mansion left mendev and move to cheliax. There he gets a wife & continue the Gwerm bloodline
@@PH03NIX96 she loves you too much, starts feeling the desire to kill you and leaves you because despite wanting to kill you she really does not want you dead. So she'd rather leave you forever than risk the temptation.
There's a steam guide that lists most of the steps you have to take in order to get the ending and is mostly spoiler free. A lot of the steps are relatively straightforward if you know the ending exists in the first place. The trouble is there are numerous minor decisions that don't seem too important at the time but will lock you out of the ending if you don't choose correctly.
Thank you for sharing. I will miss the ending (I think) because of wrong decisions. Turns out helping the weak isn't always the best idea if you want to become more powerful.
How did you get a better outcome for the Kingdom stats? I got all the ranks to 8 but I still got the outcome of 'Drezen just became another fort' and 'The battles where lost to obscurity'.
I had all of the stats but military at 8. All of the council storylines seemed to resolve well enough, I'm not sure if you can actually get a bad outcome from them. At the time I recorded this, the military stat was bugged and couldn't go past 6, but that has since been fixed. If you're not getting a good ending slide for them, then either you can get a bad outcome from the councils or it's just bugged.
A bug made me not get the ascension ending because the research of Areelu's notes appeared twice and without thinking I researched both to be safe and in the end the dialogue choice never appeared so hear I am having to watch a vid of the ending instead.
Wondered if I should try to follow a guide for the secret ending, but uh, that's way too much crap to do and I run out of patience for all the side quests after Act 3.
I kinda heckled this up from the beginning. Twice, lul. Since I simultaneously started 2 different files, both of which were backliners (a sorcerer and a kineticist) I valued the temp hit points over a crossbow I would never use so I lost that option forever RIP
Shooting Deskari is not necessary for the secret ending. There are 6 possible interactions to increase Areelu's affection for you (shooting Deskari is one of them), and you only need 5. The stone knife you get if you shot him is one of the crystals, if you don't have it you need to become demon or trickster to get the 6 crystals necessary for the best ending (although you can still get the second best ending where you and your companions ascend but not Areelu if you have 5 crystals)
I didn't get this ending. But I'm satisfied with the one I did find. Ended up as an azata and used my flying island to not just close the worldwound but to heal the land. all my companions moved on to live relatively good lives minus wenduag, daeran and camilla.

wow very interesting. I still have no clue what I missed in areelu's lab... seems like I missed quite much. is the storyteller story in last elven note in threshold? I didnt bother to return and find it out. just curious. what "exactly was" he?
My memory of the details is fuzzy since it has been about a year since I finished the game. At the time of this playthrough, there were more pages than required for storyteller's quests available outside of the threshold. Now, I believe, there are exactly enough to finish all aspects of his story outside of the threshold(so if you miss a page, sucks to be you), plus an additional one in the threshold that is meant to be used to decipher the lexicon without having to pass all the huge skill checks, which is a requirement for the secret ending. As for the story of the storyteller, I really don't remember too well other than it is pretty complicated and will probably be further extended into the next pathfinder game if there is one. My best, brief recollection is that thousands of years before Wrath, he was an extremely powerful archmage who discovered some of the same secrets Areelu did and then some, resulting in him getting the attention of Pharasma. As part of some sort of deal with Pharasma(that I cannot remember the details of) the notebook that contained his discoveries was scattered and he lost all of his memories, but he was also granted immortality and his abilities to relive the history of objects. Once you restore all of his notes, he is then offered to become the usher of Pharasma to collect and safeguard the stories of souls passing through her realm or something like that. In my playthrough, I advised him to tell Pharasma to suck a fat one, and got the ending slide in the video. If you want a better, more accurate explanation of his lore, good luck finding one on the internet, because I couldn't.
Well, i did everything that is necessary to unlock this ending (except i found Suture next to Areelu in Nocticula palace from the beginning of the conversation, i didn't have to pass the perception check regarding him), but i do not have any option when you start to try to convince her after the fight("I know you are not as mad or as fixated... etc.). Any idea what makes this show up? Just lost over 100 hours for nothing...
the perception check when you talk to areelu in noct's palace isn't when you first open the dialogue, it's when you ask her about suture when you are questioning her. Unfortunately, I believe that is a hard requirement. @@quakkoquakko the trick is to play your games the way YOU would play them, and then go on YT to see secret endings ;-) I just finished up Azata with all the more personality-interesting companions, kinda rushing. I have a backlog to get through, and I was satisfied, and then doubly satisfied seeing TC's run conclude. Such a cool game.
Several mythic paths will lock you out of this ending. You cannot do it as a legend or swarm. I believe you can potentially do it as an aeon but only if you do not follow the route of a true aeon. Also, unlocking aeon requires you sacrificing one of the nahyndrian crystals you need to achieve full ascension for yourself+areelu+companions. There are some spoiler-lite guides available on neoseeker and steam.
This whole thing is bugged, I did not get a single dialog option to persuade her, not even the mythic level 10 option even though I AM mythic level 10. If anyone knows how to fix this with the toy box mod I would appreciate it, so much wasted effort. Shot Deckard in act 1, showed up on the right days, had the crystals, kept stitch alive, found her secret lab, researched all the required decrees, spoke with Hepzamirah's ghost, repaired and understood the lexicon, exhausted all dialog with her at every opportunity, still nothing.
you need to be nice to her all the time, save her minion, be very nice to him and pass several checks about him in dialogue with her before final battle.You can check what conditions you failed in toybox mode and edit them.
@@SapFeaRon I did all of that, I didn't fail any of the triggers, I even tried the toy box mod solution. Yet it still doesn't work. I don't care anymore to play it all again but let this be a word of warning to anyone who would seek to complete the secret ending, it might just bug out and erase hours of effort.
Must say, fair play to the person who managed this ending. I tried to just play the game as it is, (Like no guides, no help on puzzles...) But holy hell! Even on Normal Difficulty, feels like the Game Master hates my guts... (Imagine DC of 47 to beat, and I have my legendary character with a 45 skill, and I roll a 1...) The best I ever achieved playing this game was the complete Romance with Queen Galfrey. And I didn't even know what I was doing. Oh and the Doom Easter Egg Helmet thingy!
As Angel you should be able to get a total of five+the purple dagger from the market in kenabres that counts as one. You're supposed to shoot Deskari and Baphomet for 2 of those 5 when you fight them both the second time, but I tried repeatedly with multiple midnight bolts and could not get them to drop any crystals. Ended up adding 2 to my inventory with the toybox mod.
I do not get the option "I reached the heights of my mythic power. I am the living embodiment of your plans and aspirations." despite being Mythic Rank 10. Why is that?
Are you on one of the mythic paths that are ineligible for it? I believe swarm, lich, and aeon are unable to get this ending so that may be why. Otherwise it could be a bug. Maybe try respeccing?

when i make the secret ending, dialogue option "you are stepping stones on my path to greatness" had a far better trad in fr i will translate it : "You're nothing more than combustible to my ambition"

No, you would have to skip a lot of days in the previous acts to run out of time. I ended up having to skip days for almost a year to get to the required date once I finished everything in act 5.
There is no time limit. The date required is between 16th and 23rd of Gozran, but the game doesn't check for year. You can wait 100 years and still get this ending as long as you enter Threshold at the right date
What is Ascension ? I don't want to watch the video and be 100% spoiled But every guide that I went to see is just copy/pasting the requirements WITHOUT explaining what Ascension is, it is infurating Please someone telle me :(
It's a massive spoiler, and Im not sure how much of it you want to avoid being spoiled. But, the gist of it is you discover a way to use the same source from which you get your mythic powers to become a demigod and convince Areelu Vorlesh to help you do this.
@@ralexy999 You already are those things by the end of the game essentially. You eschew the mythic endings and become a demigod with your own realm. What kind of demigod you become I believe is based on your alignment. You still get some ending slides related to your mythic path, though.
The ending slides are schizophrenic lmao. "Yeah your crusade management wasn't anything impressive but your crusade management was so amazing Drezen replaced Nerosyan as the capital of Mendev and dominated the region politically and militarily."
I am literally about to cry, cuz the only thing that I didn’t do is kill the echo of deskari. (Somehow missed the entire quest involving his lair. And it is not mentioned in any guide😪. Don’t know if that’s in any way fixable at this point, cuz completing the quest with a toy box while in threshold changed nothing.. But congrats to you for doing everything right!
Turns out there’s some sort of condition, where instead of fighting the Echo, you face against Deskari again. (I guess he ran away from me during Iz by breaking the ground even tho the storyteller says that he is killed). That’s why I was essentially locked out of the True ending. Still not clear why this happens, but thankfully I fixed it with Toy box. UPD: there’s now some extra info in the guide, which basically says that if you take too long fighting deskari in Iz, he escapes.
Wenduag's ascension ending is mutually exclusive with Lann's. You need to complete the companions' personal quests or they refuse and you can only complete them for the one who joined you in the prologue

@@exantiuse497 The way I interpreted it is the amount of power you receive from the ritual is itself a lot, but indeed not very much in the scale of gods. But. The worship you receive afterwards changes that dramatically - and, you already possessed a lot prior to the ritual. And you acquired two entire Abyssal realms and converted their essence to that of your path (Angel, here, so LG or NG). It adds up. That and Pharasma probably just couldn't be bothered to fight about it. She would almost certainly win still but it's just not worth it.
@@mduckernz In that spirit, I'd add the notion of balance too. If Pharasma randomly killed two demi for reasons far less important than what was already going on elsewhere, the pantheon could unite against her. Same way of thinking that the Herald gives you about Heaven not intervening too directly against demons.
i was supposed to get this ending but this game is extremely ungrateful to the players that try to achieve it , i followed the detailed guide but then i got rejected out of a research thet i remembered getting , i gave the game a 1 star review out of unfair frustration due to the amount of time put into this failed attempt
If you think about it, this ending is the most evil ending of them all. You basically become an accomplice of Areelu in everything she has done so far. Genoside for the sake of Godhood. All the suffering and tortures she caused during her experiments... She criticised Gods for killing people for fun, while she did basically even worse that any one of them. Ascending her is like Ascending Hitler but worse. P.S. As the Legend, Starstone test should be a breeze and a much less genosidal alternative.

@@MrBellyar Areelu is a horrible human being there is no arguing that. But she was a loving mother, perhaps not a moral one but loving. All she did was for them, for the promise she made over their corpse. Godhood was never for herself it was so her child would never suffer the whims of the gods and they could never steal them again (Also it sounds like as angry as Areelu was at the Sarkions who killed her kid, she was madder at Pharasma for judging her child before she could revive them, ensuring she'd never see them again). All the experiments were so she wouldn't risk the remaining shreds of her child's soul she rescued from the larvae pits of the Abyss. And to Areelu, I think the biggest reward she ever got was knowing part of her child lived. Even if you don't go through with Ascension but show her part of her child lives on she will kill herself to close the Worldwound so her child won't have to. Again horrible person, I wouldn't even call her an Antihero, shes a villain... But an understandable one. But calling her Hilter seems unfair, she just doesn't care about peoples lives there's a difference.

And from outside perspective motherhood is completely the same level of reasoning as nazism if it leads to so many deaths. She can't be excused because she is a mother or a woman or had best intentions in her mind. She could've used her knowledge to partake in the test of the starstone. She could've find other ways to help her child without sacrificing innocent. She didn't. That was her choise. So yeah. She is even worse than Hitler.
You must remember, cosmic good and evil are things here. Areelu contains multitudes. She did countless sins and committed a genocide, but in the process ripped open a hole in the plane of absolute chaos and evil which forcefully enstated goodness and structure into its depths. 100 years of suffering on the Material Plane, contrasted with an *eternity of siege on the Abyss.* In terms of cosmic good and evil, she allowed an act of unfathomable evil and counteracted it with an act of unfathomable good. The end result, a new array of demigods that gladly take a far more active role in Golarion, is well worth the damage caused to the realm.
The fact that this ending requires so many very specific parameters makes it kinda stupid imo. Because obviously there will only be like maybe 20 people playing the game finding this path naturally and being able to go through with it. 3 of them will write a guide and the rest of the playerbase now follows a linear a story where a game that is very much about choices literally removes a lot of them. INCLUDING which mythic path you can choose. Do you guys the see the problem? If any of the others endings would have an additional better versions (either the same outcome or different versions per mythic path) this system would ADD to the experience. The way it is implemented now is telling you exactly what you are allowed to do to get this ending (in oppose to the other endings which have more veriance) and if you don't do the one thing then BAM you are thrown out. Aside from that I am wondering why Legend Mythic Path apparently can't do this given the logic it kinda should be able to.
I kind of doubt anybody managed to stumble across it accidentally. I'd guess that someone unpacked the script files and reverse engineered the conditions to make it happen.
This secret ending is so stupid. They require way too many random things to get it. You miss one thing, and you don't get ANYTHING. Ridiculously pointless
Okay, your just ascended to a godhood a chaotic evil demon who is responsible for death and horrible tortures of whole nation (basically a magic Hitler), and has newer ever shown regret for her action. Very Angelic ending indeed.
First of all, you don't give her godhood, the Commander is the only one who becomes demigod, the rest become his heralds. It's not that big of a power boost for her (except for the immortality) Second, she is your mother in a way (or at least I chose to roleplay so that my character believes he is Areelu's son) and even a righteous person could forgive their mother. After all she did all those bad things to save him/her, and was willing to sacrifice her own life to fix the wound

If you choose to roleplay that this demonic parasite that was implanted in your soul, makes your Areelu son, well, it's your choice. I personally choose a legendary path, where I cleanse myself and make sure witch had her final death. Second its not our character who should forgive her. How about those parents whose children where tortured in front of them for days? All those innocent souls lost in the abbys? Its very easy to forgive evil that was done not to you)
Hiding the best ending behind obscure criteria is an extremely stupid design decision. You'd think that lesson would been learned after Valkyrie Profile 20+ years ago, but I guess not.

@@exantiuse497 Well it hard to judge how powerful Arelu and the Commander would be at this stage. Also Pharasma's philosophy may made her choose to not interfere with the commander's wishes, or her age after all she is one of the eldest gods and may not care much for the antics of two upstarts.
@@exantiuse497 actually, if you didn't intervene when Pharasma is trying to judge ascended Areelu, to Areelu surprise, Pharasma doesn't care if commander is going to retaliate and one shot Areelu. Not even judging her soul or what, she just destroyed Areelu as if she's nothing, not even worth the judgement.

Kudos to you, there are so many different and hard things to do to get this ending, probably one of the most hard secret endings in a game industry.
To find this way, you normally have to exactly know what is going on right from the beginning. And to know that, you normally have to have played the game at least once already.
@Nikioko If you want this specific ending (6 crystals for all companions and Areelu to ascend) you need to make the correct decisions all the way from the prologue onwards. The "regular" ascension ending (only the commander ascends, reauires 1 crystal) is not THAT difficult, I almost got it on my blind playthrough (although I didn't find Areelu's secret lab and the correct date would've been impossible to guess) but I don't think anyone could get the perfect 6 crystal ending blind

The only part I looked up was the date. I surmise that you are supposed to be able to learn it from the researches you do, but the ending text for those was blank. Which is what prompted me to look it up in the first place!
That said I'm not claiming it would be easy or likely, lol
I figured the midnight bolts where important, but I did not know you should actually use them against demon lords. I overlooked that part. I did not find the secret lab within her lab so there might be some clues there I have overlooked. idk.

What the hell. How is it humanly possible to achieve such a good ending? I finished the game after 107hrs and did not even manage to complete the Storyteller quest!
You'll probably have to look up a guide because so many requirements in each act are needed to get this.
I put a whopping 200+ hours and sacrified hours of sleep and not only did I get a mediocre ending, it was also BUGGED TO SHIT and only showed me the very first slide in the epilogue ashajdhkaha RIP me

@@Rhygenix agreed, some of the requirements for the secret ending just come off as obnoxious. For example the “time of year” one doesn’t make much sense and locks you out if you spend a lot of time maximizing crusade stats. Requiring players to find areelu’s notes in the secret window in the secret lab that requires the other secret key, at some point it just ends up forcing everyone to use a guide or be disappointed by the their outcome despite getting all the necessary information, motivation, and resources.
getting this secret ending is absolutely bonkers, i'm pretty sure i did everything which was required, except for not choosing an evil or neutral answer to one of her questions in Act2 or early Act 3 (and at that point you don't even know it's her).
The part that makes my head hurt the most is this. Pharasma is not just goddes of death and rebirth and whatnot. Did you ever wonder how in Pathfinder you could resurrect people? How their souls of the dead aren't instantly judged and distributed to Outer Planes like Heaven and Hell? Well, the lore explanation for that is Pharasma foresees stuff like resurrection and reincarnation and thus postpones her judgement
Does that mean she foresaw Commander and Areelu's ascension? And knew they would come to her afterwards just to flip her?
If so, man... Being a goddess of fate sucks
Edit: Oh, and according to Pathfinder lore, there was a god named Aroden. He was destined to die, Pharasma knew it. And guess what? Iomedae is still pissed about that. And Aroden's clergy? When the new reached up to them, it ended up with a series of fights between them and clergy of Pharasma
That part makes no sense. She is clearly surprised by the Commander's power, but she shouldn't be if she foresaw it. I guess the devs retconned her foresight powers for the game

Why is everyone in Golarion cool with that? And the list goes on

It is simply a reality that what should be...isn't always what is.
The truth is that even the immortal gods can bleed and die. They can be wrong. They can fail. Pharasma is said to be the last survivor of the previous dead multiverse...her knowledge and wisdom would be unparalleled.
Perhaps to a mortal being we would call such a thing "fate" or "omniscience"...far beyond our understanding, whatever it is.

I don't understand why that is. It says you spoiled her plans by not closing the Wound, so I assume she needed that gone to ascend, but I thought you did close it (or absorbed its power or whatever). I wonder if that's a bug, a lot of the endings have bugs after all
@@exantiuse497 I THINK it's because you basically keep her too busy putting out fires resulting from your not closing the Wound, meaning she doesn't spend time in contemplation.
She will likely eventually go through the Redeemer path (indeed, that is Paizo canon) but it will be put off a lot longer than otherwise
@@mduckernz Baphemoth survives in canon yet dies in this ending, and Deskari dies in canon and lives in most other endings, so maybe the endings aren't supposed to be canon?

Took me a long time to get this ending, but it was worth it. I like the idea of becoming a god alongside the love you chose. So my angel self becomes a god with Arushalae at his side, all in all a great story.

There's a steam guide that lists most of the steps you have to take in order to get the ending and is mostly spoiler free. A lot of the steps are relatively straightforward if you know the ending exists in the first place. The trouble is there are numerous minor decisions that don't seem too important at the time but will lock you out of the ending if you don't choose correctly.
Thank you for sharing. I will miss the ending (I think) because of wrong decisions. Turns out helping the weak isn't always the best idea if you want to become more powerful.

How did you get a better outcome for the Kingdom stats? I got all the ranks to 8 but I still got the outcome of 'Drezen just became another fort' and 'The battles where lost to obscurity'.
I had all of the stats but military at 8. All of the council storylines seemed to resolve well enough, I'm not sure if you can actually get a bad outcome from them. At the time I recorded this, the military stat was bugged and couldn't go past 6, but that has since been fixed. If you're not getting a good ending slide for them, then either you can get a bad outcome from the councils or it's just bugged.
i know this is pretty late but you need to clear all forts in act 3 to get drezen safe
A bug made me not get the ascension ending because the research of Areelu's notes appeared twice and without thinking I researched both to be safe and in the end the dialogue choice never appeared so hear I am having to watch a vid of the ending instead.
best ending that you can get, but you have to do a lot of things to get this ending. You need play with a guide to get this ending.

I kinda heckled this up from the beginning. Twice, lul. Since I simultaneously started 2 different files, both of which were backliners (a sorcerer and a kineticist) I valued the temp hit points over a crossbow I would never use so I lost that option forever RIP
Shooting Deskari is not necessary for the secret ending. There are 6 possible interactions to increase Areelu's affection for you (shooting Deskari is one of them), and you only need 5. The stone knife you get if you shot him is one of the crystals, if you don't have it you need to become demon or trickster to get the 6 crystals necessary for the best ending (although you can still get the second best ending where you and your companions ascend but not Areelu if you have 5 crystals)
And that is wonderful. Where Baldur's Gate 2 failed due to WtC treachery (novel) Wrath of Righteous succeeded!
I didn't get this ending. But I'm satisfied with the one I did find. Ended up as an azata and used my flying island to not just close the worldwound but to heal the land. all my companions moved on to live relatively good lives minus wenduag, daeran and camilla.

is the storyteller story in last elven note in threshold? I didnt bother to return and find it out. just curious. what "exactly was" he?
My memory of the details is fuzzy since it has been about a year since I finished the game. At the time of this playthrough, there were more pages than required for storyteller's quests available outside of the threshold. Now, I believe, there are exactly enough to finish all aspects of his story outside of the threshold(so if you miss a page, sucks to be you), plus an additional one in the threshold that is meant to be used to decipher the lexicon without having to pass all the huge skill checks, which is a requirement for the secret ending.
As for the story of the storyteller, I really don't remember too well other than it is pretty complicated and will probably be further extended into the next pathfinder game if there is one. My best, brief recollection is that thousands of years before Wrath, he was an extremely powerful archmage who discovered some of the same secrets Areelu did and then some, resulting in him getting the attention of Pharasma. As part of some sort of deal with Pharasma(that I cannot remember the details of) the notebook that contained his discoveries was scattered and he lost all of his memories, but he was also granted immortality and his abilities to relive the history of objects. Once you restore all of his notes, he is then offered to become the usher of Pharasma to collect and safeguard the stories of souls passing through her realm or something like that.
In my playthrough, I advised him to tell Pharasma to suck a fat one, and got the ending slide in the video. If you want a better, more accurate explanation of his lore, good luck finding one on the internet, because I couldn't.

Well, i did everything that is necessary to unlock this ending (except i found Suture next to Areelu in Nocticula palace from the beginning of the conversation, i didn't have to pass the perception check regarding him), but i do not have any option when you start to try to convince her after the fight("I know you are not as mad or as fixated... etc.). Any idea what makes this show up? Just lost over 100 hours for nothing...
the perception check when you talk to areelu in noct's palace isn't when you first open the dialogue, it's when you ask her about suture when you are questioning her. Unfortunately, I believe that is a hard requirement. @@quakkoquakko the trick is to play your games the way YOU would play them, and then go on YT to see secret endings ;-) I just finished up Azata with all the more personality-interesting companions, kinda rushing. I have a backlog to get through, and I was satisfied, and then doubly satisfied seeing TC's run conclude. Such a cool game.
I know there is a lot you have to do, to get this ending. Does choosing a specific mythic matter at all or can you pick any of them?
Several mythic paths will lock you out of this ending. You cannot do it as a legend or swarm. I believe you can potentially do it as an aeon but only if you do not follow the route of a true aeon. Also, unlocking aeon requires you sacrificing one of the nahyndrian crystals you need to achieve full ascension for yourself+areelu+companions. There are some spoiler-lite guides available on neoseeker and steam.

This whole thing is bugged, I did not get a single dialog option to persuade her, not even the mythic level 10 option even though I AM mythic level 10. If anyone knows how to fix this with the toy box mod I would appreciate it, so much wasted effort. Shot Deckard in act 1, showed up on the right days, had the crystals, kept stitch alive, found her secret lab, researched all the required decrees, spoke with Hepzamirah's ghost, repaired and understood the lexicon, exhausted all dialog with her at every opportunity, still nothing.
you need to be nice to her all the time, save her minion, be very nice to him and pass several checks about him in dialogue with her before final battle.You can check what conditions you failed in toybox mode and edit them.
@@SapFeaRon I did all of that, I didn't fail any of the triggers, I even tried the toy box mod solution. Yet it still doesn't work. I don't care anymore to play it all again but let this be a word of warning to anyone who would seek to complete the secret ending, it might just bug out and erase hours of effort.
Must say, fair play to the person who managed this ending. I tried to just play the game as it is, (Like no guides, no help on puzzles...) But holy hell! Even on Normal Difficulty, feels like the Game Master hates my guts... (Imagine DC of 47 to beat, and I have my legendary character with a 45 skill, and I roll a 1...) The best I ever achieved playing this game was the complete Romance with Queen Galfrey. And I didn't even know what I was doing. Oh and the Doom Easter Egg Helmet thingy!
Is it actually possible to get six crystals on Angel path or did you add an extra through mods or something? Just want to clarify.
As Angel you should be able to get a total of five+the purple dagger from the market in kenabres that counts as one. You're supposed to shoot Deskari and Baphomet for 2 of those 5 when you fight them both the second time, but I tried repeatedly with multiple midnight bolts and could not get them to drop any crystals. Ended up adding 2 to my inventory with the toybox mod.

I do not get the option "I reached the heights of my mythic power. I am the living embodiment of your plans and aspirations." despite being Mythic Rank 10. Why is that?
Are you on one of the mythic paths that are ineligible for it? I believe swarm, lich, and aeon are unable to get this ending so that may be why. Otherwise it could be a bug. Maybe try respeccing?

I also didn't get this option as aeon-to-devil. Maybe it's a bug specific to paths that are unlocked in Act 5.

No, you would have to skip a lot of days in the previous acts to run out of time. I ended up having to skip days for almost a year to get to the required date once I finished everything in act 5.
There is no time limit. The date required is between 16th and 23rd of Gozran, but the game doesn't check for year. You can wait 100 years and still get this ending as long as you enter Threshold at the right date

It's a massive spoiler, and Im not sure how much of it you want to avoid being spoiled. But, the gist of it is you discover a way to use the same source from which you get your mythic powers to become a demigod and convince Areelu Vorlesh to help you do this.

@@ralexy999 You already are those things by the end of the game essentially. You eschew the mythic endings and become a demigod with your own realm. What kind of demigod you become I believe is based on your alignment. You still get some ending slides related to your mythic path, though.
The ending slides are schizophrenic lmao. "Yeah your crusade management wasn't anything impressive but your crusade management was so amazing Drezen replaced Nerosyan as the capital of Mendev and dominated the region politically and militarily."
I am literally about to cry, cuz the only thing that I didn’t do is kill the echo of deskari. (Somehow missed the entire quest involving his lair. And it is not mentioned in any guide😪. Don’t know if that’s in any way fixable at this point, cuz completing the quest with a toy box while in threshold changed nothing..

you don't need to do any quests to kill him. On gold dragon path i met him in room before areelu and steamrolled his ass.
Turns out there’s some sort of condition, where instead of fighting the Echo, you face against Deskari again. (I guess he ran away from me during Iz by breaking the ground even tho the storyteller says that he is killed). That’s why I was essentially locked out of the True ending. Still not clear why this happens, but thankfully I fixed it with Toy box.
UPD: there’s now some extra info in the guide, which basically says that if you take too long fighting deskari in Iz, he escapes.

Wenduag's ascension ending is mutually exclusive with Lann's. You need to complete the companions' personal quests or they refuse and you can only complete them for the one who joined you in the prologue

My thoughts exactly. Two demigods (or a demigod and his herald I guess) come to one of the strongest deities in the setting, on her home turf no less, and flip the bird at her, then no-sell her attempt to kill them? Makes no sense. That's like a housecat beating up a tiger
@@exantiuse497 The way I interpreted it is the amount of power you receive from the ritual is itself a lot, but indeed not very much in the scale of gods.
But. The worship you receive afterwards changes that dramatically - and, you already possessed a lot prior to the ritual. And you acquired two entire Abyssal realms and converted their essence to that of your path (Angel, here, so LG or NG). It adds up.
That and Pharasma probably just couldn't be bothered to fight about it. She would almost certainly win still but it's just not worth it.
@@mduckernz In that spirit, I'd add the notion of balance too. If Pharasma randomly killed two demi for reasons far less important than what was already going on elsewhere, the pantheon could unite against her. Same way of thinking that the Herald gives you about Heaven not intervening too directly against demons.
This is cool but the legend ending is the best one your mc gives a big mf middle finger to areelu demon lords and the gods.

i was supposed to get this ending but this game is extremely ungrateful to the players that try to achieve it , i followed the detailed guide but then i got rejected out of a research thet i remembered getting , i gave the game a 1 star review out of unfair frustration due to the amount of time put into this failed attempt
If you think about it, this ending is the most evil ending of them all. You basically become an accomplice of Areelu in everything she has done so far. Genoside for the sake of Godhood. All the suffering and tortures she caused during her experiments... She criticised Gods for killing people for fun, while she did basically even worse that any one of them. Ascending her is like Ascending Hitler but worse.
P.S. As the Legend, Starstone test should be a breeze and a much less genosidal alternative.
The killings already happened so it doesn't make a difference (unless you're missing a punishment) and presumably, she stopped with the killings.

Complete lack of responsibility, excusing the most evil villain of the game that is trying to present herself as antihero. Not only that, but rewarding her for what she has done? As I've said, this is the most evil of the Endings.
P. S. As a god she would do something even more fucked up so "She has stoped with the killings" part is just ridiculous.
@@MrBellyar Areelu is a horrible human being there is no arguing that. But she was a loving mother, perhaps not a moral one but loving. All she did was for them, for the promise she made over their corpse. Godhood was never for herself it was so her child would never suffer the whims of the gods and they could never steal them again (Also it sounds like as angry as Areelu was at the Sarkions who killed her kid, she was madder at Pharasma for judging her child before she could revive them, ensuring she'd never see them again). All the experiments were so she wouldn't risk the remaining shreds of her child's soul she rescued from the larvae pits of the Abyss.
And to Areelu, I think the biggest reward she ever got was knowing part of her child lived. Even if you don't go through with Ascension but show her part of her child lives on she will kill herself to close the Worldwound so her child won't have to.
Again horrible person, I wouldn't even call her an Antihero, shes a villain... But an understandable one. But calling her Hilter seems unfair, she just doesn't care about peoples lives there's a difference.
@@scarletsblood8510 If you try hard enough, you can justify even Hitler. That's a slippery slope. She kills for her own reasons. And from outside perspective motherhood is completely the same level of reasoning as nazism if it leads to so many deaths. She can't be excused because she is a mother or a woman or had best intentions in her mind.
She could've used her knowledge to partake in the test of the starstone. She could've find other ways to help her child without sacrificing innocent. She didn't. That was her choise.
So yeah. She is even worse than Hitler.
You must remember, cosmic good and evil are things here. Areelu contains multitudes. She did countless sins and committed a genocide, but in the process ripped open a hole in the plane of absolute chaos and evil which forcefully enstated goodness and structure into its depths. 100 years of suffering on the Material Plane, contrasted with an *eternity of siege on the Abyss.*
In terms of cosmic good and evil, she allowed an act of unfathomable evil and counteracted it with an act of unfathomable good. The end result, a new array of demigods that gladly take a far more active role in Golarion, is well worth the damage caused to the realm.
The fact that this ending requires so many very specific parameters makes it kinda stupid imo. Because obviously there will only be like maybe 20 people playing the game finding this path naturally and being able to go through with it. 3 of them will write a guide and the rest of the playerbase now follows a linear a story where a game that is very much about choices literally removes a lot of them. INCLUDING which mythic path you can choose.

If any of the others endings would have an additional better versions (either the same outcome or different versions per mythic path) this system would ADD to the experience. The way it is implemented now is telling you exactly what you are allowed to do to get this ending (in oppose to the other endings which have more veriance) and if you don't do the one thing then BAM you are thrown out.
Aside from that I am wondering why Legend Mythic Path apparently can't do this given the logic it kinda should be able to.
I kind of doubt anybody managed to stumble across it accidentally. I'd guess that someone unpacked the script files and reverse engineered the conditions to make it happen.
This secret ending is so stupid. They require way too many random things to get it. You miss one thing, and you don't get ANYTHING. Ridiculously pointless
Okay, your just ascended to a godhood a chaotic evil demon who is responsible for death and horrible tortures of whole nation (basically a magic Hitler), and has newer ever shown regret for her action. Very Angelic ending indeed.
The demons are responsible for that. She simply opened a gate.

She’s responsible for making the demons responsible for that.
First of all, you don't give her godhood, the Commander is the only one who becomes demigod, the rest become his heralds. It's not that big of a power boost for her (except for the immortality)
Second, she is your mother in a way (or at least I chose to roleplay so that my character believes he is Areelu's son) and even a righteous person could forgive their mother. After all she did all those bad things to save him/her, and was willing to sacrifice her own life to fix the wound
@@exantiuse497 First. Areelu has violated main character in the most horrible way. She basicaly soulraped him (or her if you play female). If you choose to roleplay that this demonic parasite that was implanted in your soul, makes your Areelu son, well, it's your choice. I personally choose a legendary path, where I cleanse myself and make sure witch had her final death. Second its not our character who should forgive her. How about those parents whose children where tortured in front of them for days? All those innocent souls lost in the abbys? Its very easy to forgive evil that was done not to you)
Hiding the best ending behind obscure criteria is an extremely stupid design decision. You'd think that lesson would been learned after Valkyrie Profile 20+ years ago, but I guess not.
