- 😲Stan and Rhonda take their viewers on a full tour of their brand new 2024 Grand Design Influence 2903RL. This is Grand Design's new line of 5th wheel trailers. Stan and Rhonda have had their eye on the Solitude 2930RL for quite some time and were saddened to hear they were going to discontinue the Solitude S Class. Much to their surprise that same floor plan is now available as the Influence 2903RL. It wasn't until they brought their new rig home that they discovered their HUGE mistake. They were surprised to find out their new addition did not fit in their RV garage. It was too tall!! What will Stan and Rhonda do about this oversight? Come with Stan and Rhonda as they share their new home on wheels with all their viewers.

OMG! YOU BOUGHT OUR RV! So glad to see you guys bought the same model (updated) that we walked you through at the North Rim a few years back! Back then it was the Solitude 2930rl, now it’s the Influence 2903rl! We’re still loving ours and we’re glad to see they are still making the floor plan with the new “Influence” line! We love keeping up with all your adventures and we’re loving the latest videos with your new home on wheels! Soooo glad that maybe(?) we had just a tiny bit of influence over your choice for a new RV! Hope to meet up again one day!
Hello Tom and Diana, ever since we saw your trailer we always wanted that exact same model. We were about to pull the trigger on the Solitude 2930RL and they no longer made it. So we almost bought the Solitude 310Gk and then we saw the Influence 2903RL! We were one of the first to purchase it and have Influenced others to buy the same model. So to say the least you had A LOT do with our decision and journey. Thank you so much for being so kind and showing us your home. We too hope to see you again soon! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Love how excited you guys are! Cant wait to see your new season to come…enjoy! Safe travels! We hit the road Tuesday for 6 weeks…AR, TN, NC, SC, GA to Florida and back to Tx. Ready to roll!!
Awesome!! Super excited! You’ll have to give us tips on Florida 👏 Safe travels! Do you have an Instagram or Facebook where you post your adventures?
Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈 on your new home away from home, and all the new subscribers. Thanks for sharing your new home with us. We know you will like it and find things to put in the extra storage spaces. Thanks From Wisconsin
Hello Bob and Cathy, the new rig is like a dream come true! Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Wow! What a nice rig. Nice job showcasing it. Looking forward to your first trip in the new rig.
Hi Jim! Thank you so much 👏 We have a few videos to put out with “Maggie” still, but we are also looking forward to our new adventures with the new rig 👍 Always nice to hear from you! ~ Rhonda and Stan
Congratulations to you both!! Hope you have many years of Happy Travels with your new Home on Wheels!!
Thanks so much! We honestly feel that this rig is more of a home than any of our others before. We are super excited to spend more time on the road now 👏 Thank you for your kind comment. ~ Rhonda and Stan
You Guys! what a beautiful home on wheels! thank you Stan for your excellent videos, we have new CRE3000 suspension, changed out the door window! along with Goodyear Endurance tires! let the camping season begin! Safe travels and God Bless you both! love your excitement!
Hi Carolyn! Woohoo 🙌 Sounds like you are ready to roll! 👏 Where to first? Thanks for your kind words. Glad we could help! ~ Rhonda and Stan
I am so happy for you both. We purchased a 2500RL mostly because of your channel. In March we traded it in for a Brinkley Z3100. You are going to love the extra space of a 5th wheel. I would recommend taking it to the scales once you get it loaded up to make sure your truck is good. I have a 1 ton Ford and you would be surprised how much the pin weight is once you load it up.
Wow! We love hearing that we helped in making your decision to purchase a GD 2500RL! 👏 Congratulations on your upgrade! Beautiful rigs! We were able to tour them at the Quartzsite RV show. A good friend ended up buying the 2900 model which is similar to ours. There is definitely a learning curve with the fifth wheel, but we are loving it!
We actually have gone to the CAT scales (one of the first things) and we are good 👍 Great tip!
Thanks for reaching out! ~ Rhonda and Stan
You have SO much storage, throughout the 5th wheel. I also love the size of your appliances. I hope you are having a great time on your trip with your family. ❤
Thank you, Claudia! We are currently on our way to Northern California to see our son and his three little ones. We are enjoying getting to know the new rig and loving it! 🫶 Thanks for being a big part of our adventures! 💖~ Rhonda and Stan
I look forward to your organization video
I gotta start on that today for next week 👏😂
Loved the tour of your new rig! Especially loved the excitement in your voices & sparkle in your eyes while sharing it with us! ❤️
Hi Carol, we are so excited we keep pinching ourselves. It is definitely a huge learning curve. Our new rig is like a home on wheels we are so comfortable in it. We looked at each other and said, we could live in this! Thank you for joining us as always. You are a faithful follower and we love you for that! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Love this video and the rig!! You decorated it so cute. Can't wait to see it up close.❤
You will in a week!🙏🏼❤️
Very nice your RV frig is bigger than our house frig. So fun seeing how excited your both are for your new rig. Glad you love it so much.
Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda 🙏🏼❤️
Sooooo happy for you guys. Love your rig. You two deserve it! God bless you both.
Hi Larry, thank you so much!! Blessings to you, Stan and Rhonda 🙏🏼❤️
Fabulous home!!!! Enjoy and many safe travels to you! Jane ❤🙏
Hello Mike and Jane, thank you for joining us! We are so glad you enjoyed our tour. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Congratulations! What a wonderful RV you got! Love all the storage. It looks huge compared to the 2500. You are sure to have many more adventures. Enjoy!
Hi Terry, it is huge!! I’m dealing with my anxiety just being on the road. Watching all the low trees making sure of all the bridge height. I’m exhausted a whole new learning curve.🙌🙏🏼❤️
I love that sky window above the bed! That is so cool! Thank you for the walk through! Its going to be great for you guys!
Hi Korie and Jack, Yes! That window! 😍❤️ Love it so much!! Brightens the room up 😃 We are excited to stay out on the road a little longer each trip now 👏 Always great hearing from you! ~ Rhonda and Stan
Congratulations. Nice rig. Don't worry about the naysayers, just go enjoy your new camper. Safe travels!!!
Hi Kirk, thank you so much! Always have a few in the bunch. We absolutely love our new Grand Design and absolutely love our old Grand Design. I think we have another winner here. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I love the interior, Rhonda. That waterfall feature is cool!
The lack of soft close on the drawers is not a problem - that means they'll stay closed when you're traveling.
That is exactly what I told her!
Congratulations & Safe Travels in your new RV😊
Hello Rick, thank you very much. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
So very happy for you guys...you deserve it and more. Congratulation!😃
You are too kind ☺️ Thank you so much! We feel very blessed for sure 🙏 Thank you for reaching out! ~ Rhonda and Stan
More Kool-Aid...I hope you do not have the problems many others have had and have not had wonderful experiences with GD. It's a pretty rig. Good Luck.
Hello Barbara, thank you for joining us! We are not affiliated with Grand Design. This is our second Grand Design. Our first Grand Design had 35,000 miles without a single problem. We have 5,000 miles on our new Influence without a single problem. I can assure you there is more positive than negative. However, folks thrive on the negative. Grand Design is offering a 5 year warranty on their frames and to second owner back to 2020. No other manufacturers are offering that! Thank you for joining us. I can also assure you we do not drink Kool aid. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Beautiful rig guys! Congratulations!! Can’t wait to see your new adventures ❤❤
Hi Chris, thank you for joining us! We are on the road as we speak. Huge learning curve. We absolutely love it! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Great tour and we LOVE your rig!! All the things you guys were wanting! God is so good! 🙌🏻 Hey let uxx so know how you like the TravelFi , looks like a good solution. Rhonda, love the decorating you’ve done so far and your storage “nesting”. You’ve been busy!! 🐝😊❤️
Hi Lyndi, we have not tried the new Travelwifi. People have commented and love it!!
God is so good! Thank you for joining us!! Much love! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda
Love your new traveling home!!! Beautiful!!!! Yall enjoy 😊
Thank you so very much! We were just saying this morning how it feels like a home and not just a camper. We are loving it! Thank you for your kind comment! ~ Rhonda and Stan
great tour. amazing seeing all the advancements in technology. looking forward to your season 7
Hi Jeff, thank you brother!
Love the comforter! Hope you enjoy this rig as much as you did your Imagine!
Hi Julie, thank you for joining us! We realized that there is a huge learning curve. We miss our Imagine it was so simple. Towing a big rig is like being on defcon 5 the entire time. It is a huge learning curve. Each day becomes easier. However, once you’re at the campsite all that stuff goes away. It is an amazingly beautiful rig. We love it!! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I’m so happy for you guys. We love our 5th wheel and would never go back. Happy adventures 😎
Hello Diane, thank you so much! We love our new rig!! 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for the tip on the mattress. Rig looks great
Hi Mary, we sleep soooooo good on the Nectar mattress.
Great video! Beautiful RV. I love your comforter. You will love your tankless water heater. We keep ours at 106 and it is plenty hot. I love all your organizations in your cabinets. Your lights are incredible. I love your bathroom too. The exhaust fan is cool. I can’t reach mine. LOL. Enjoy every minute.
Karla, You and I are vertically challenged 😂 Our handle must be lower if I can reach it 🤣
We are on a trip to Northern California to see our son right now. Figuring out all the logistics of the new trailer has been fun and challenging, but we are loving it! Thanks for the tip on the hot water 💦 Always great to hear from you! 💖 Rhonda and Stan
@@OverTheHillAdventures Have a great time! I hope you can talk Stan into the Level Mate Pro also. We have the same leveling system as you but he still also uses the Level Mate Pro. Tip. We do not turn on the cold water when using the hot water only. We head to Italy on May 20.
Wow! Have so much fun! You two are an inspiration 🥰
just walked through one of these today at rv show. Its one of the nicest camper I've ever seen. Congratulations .
Hi Jeff, thank you so much! We have gone 2,000 miles so far. We absolutely love it! Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Congratulations! Beautiful unit!! We have a splendide washer dryer combo and it comes in so handy. Doesn’t replace the need for a big laundry day, but certainly makes the need far less frequent.
Hi Kathy! Fantastic information! Thank you 😊 Good to know for when I hit Stan with that request 😉 Thanks for sharing. ~ Rhonda and Stan
Congratulations! I love your new camper. We still have our Imagine 2500 RL ans love it!
Hi Catherine! Trust me, we have moments we still miss our “Maggie” the Imagine 🥹 But we are slowly bonding with “Flo” 😂 Glad you are still loving your 2500RL! 👏👏 See you on the road! ~ Rhonda and Stan
Guys we are so proud of this for you, your relationship has gotten so much better since the first episodes. We hope to meet you someday!
Hi Mark, we are humbled by your kind words! We would love to meet you someday! Blessings and safe travels, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Great unit! Congratulations!
Thank you! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Thank you for sharing your new Grand Design with us! It is wonderful to see happy new owners during a time when some were not as lucky. I subscribed and here’s to more than 33,000 miles of enjoyment in your new travel trailer! ❤
Hi Rebecca, thank you for joining us! We are currently exploring Colorado. We love our new Grand Design Influence. We are close to 5,000 miles. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
We are in love with this model! Congratulations!
Hi Cathy and David! It truly feels like our home away from home!! Loving the bathroom 😍❤️
I am still traveling with you. Love the new home away from home. Blessings
Hello Betty Jo, we are so glad you like it! We would be lost without you. You are our faithful follower. Blessings to you, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Its very pretty. I wish you luck with it, I didnt know that one wasnt a drop frame RV. TY
Hi Doug! Thank you for the well wishes. Honestly it was one of the reasons we bought this model because there wasn’t a drop frame. A little less space, but it’s not a problem. Makes us carry less, lol! Thanks for reaching out! ~ Rhonda and Stan
One thing I could recommend is to get a bungee cargo net (truck bed) to put over the bike cover. Nice video and a good looking rig! Stay safe and hope to see you on the road!
Thank you for the great advice. We actually have one at home. Stan and Rhonda 🙏🏼❤️
So happy for you. We love our Grand Design also
Hi Jeff, thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Very nice!! Always wanted to see the new GD influence, thanks for the tour, just a little above my pay grade
Happy we could share! Thank you for reaching out! ~Rhonda and Stan
I’m so happy for you-love your channel.
Hi Dennis, thank you so much!! We appreciate you being a part of team OTHA! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Beautiful, congratulations.
Thank you so much! We are in a whole new world 😂 ~ Rhonda and Stan
@@OverTheHillAdventures I bet you are. Look forward to seeing how you enjoy it on your adventures. I have a 17 MKE , just a small pull behind but I really enjoy it.
Great new rig!! We loved our grand design reflection 303rls. we put 32k miles on it with hardly an issue. We look forward to watching all of your new adventures!
Hi Stuward, thank you so much we love it!! What an amazing difference. We have towed a little over 1,500 miles. So much to get used to. Thank you for joining us as we enjoy new adventures with a new rig. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Great video, great excitement, enjoy your great new rig. We are also GDRV owners and love it. We started out in an Imagine 2950RL We went fulltime in 2020 in a 2019 Solitude S-Class 3350RL, 25K miles so far with no major problems. We also have the MORryde cushioned pin, love it.
Congrats!
Thank you for joining us! We appreciate you sharing with us! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
We love Grand Design also! Love your new RV.
The Grand Design Family is hard to beat! 🫶 Maybe we can meet you at a rally someday! Thanks for watching. ~ Rhonda and Stan
"What is this? I don't know!" You guys are so funny! Your new RV is beautiful. Can't wait to see all the adeventure in this one!
Hi Pat, Glad someone else laughs with us 😂 We can’t wait to hit the road for our next season 👏 We are currently on a quick trip to see our kids and grandkids then head out for Utah and Colorado in a few weeks. 🙌 We are figuring this new thing out 😂 Thanks for watching! ~ Rhonda and Stan
@@OverTheHillAdventures Stay safe!
Because of your videos we added Keyless rv locks and Moryde 3000 on our new 2500rl, before we ever took it out. THANK YOU two incredible upgrades
Hi Jeff, that is so awesome to hear! It will make a huge difference.
Stan and Rhonda, excellent tour of the new rig. Stan got a fantastic photo of a Bison. Shelley and I have a Nectar mattress in our imagine 2500rl. I sleep 1000 times better in the RV than at home. Congrats on passing 13k subscribers. We cannot wait to see where you adventure to next. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Hello Craig and Shelley, thank you so much for joining us in this exciting time. We feel so blessed that we get to share our lives with you. We are so humbled you follow along with us on this incredible journey. We have finally found a bed and thank you for sharing your experience with us. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I just hope your GD rig holds together
Hi Tek, which Grand Design do you own. This is my second Grand Design. My first Grand Design went traveled 35,000 miles. We have 5,000 on our new GRAND DESIGN INFLUENCE 2903RL. Yes, there has been problems with the larger RV’s Grand Design is the only manufacturer offering a 5 year warranty on their frames. Unfortunately folks like to jump on the bandwagon or train of negativity. The positive far outweighs the negatives. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda❤️🙏🏼
Nice, you guys will INJOY IT. And yes we will follow. And Stan, I did talk to MichelinTire people ( that is the tires on my truck ) about that same situation, they said to run what is on the side of the tire. He said that the heat is figured in on that, my PSI would go up as the tires got hotter. And if you run a lower pressure that is on the side of the tire and you ever have an issue, America’s Tire told me that could void your warranty on the tires but that depends on the people that’s doing the work for you. Like Ford Motor Company has me run my front tires on my truck 10 pounds less air than the rear tires so that is how I do it. I do what is stamped on the door for the tires on my truck and what the tires on my RV is that is what I run. As long as I can stay away from nails and screws I haven’t had no issues. Safe travels. You are a natural commentator Rhonda, you could be a RV sales person. 👍👍
Definitely dodge those nails and screws! Thanks for the great info on the tires! We appreciate you, Tim. As far as me being a RV salesperson, maybe in the next life 🤣
Awesome 5er! If you’re anything like my wife, you’ll fill up every spot you have 😂. I pull a Cedar Creek 36CK2 which has the big heavy tires. I run 100 psi and that has worked for me. Looking forward to watching you enjoying your new rig!
Hello Jim, we appreciate you joining us. Thank you for the tip! We are so excited we been on the road for about 1,500 miles. It is an amazing experience pulling a 5th Wheel! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
That is such an awesome home you guys! Love how it came in, and love everything you have done to it too! I'm sure there will be a lot of future improvements forthcoming, but its already perfect now. Its going to be such a great home to come back to while on the road. Its pretty travel friendly, the only downside being the freezer but I think thats better than having to go out the bedroom door an into the main door when the slide is shut - right? I am afraid of what we would do with all that storage space! (we no doubt would find a way to fill it up...). I can't imagine your disappointment when you figured out the height issue... but you will overcome that. We really look forward to seeing your travels this next season. Stay safe and we hope to bump into you out there someday soon - Bob and Dang
Hi Friends! We are on the road now and finally getting the hang of it! 👏 There is a huge learning curve and it all feels new again 😅 So true about the double doors in the Imagine. I was just telling Stan today how nice it was to be able to turn the pump on, use the bathroom, get in the fridge all through one door, lol! We also love how comfy it is with the fireplace. 🔥It truly is a place to call home away from home ❤️ We sure hope to see you two again someday soon! ~ Rhonda and Stan
I have all confidence in your customizing skills, Stan. You conquered the steps, and I've seen you install a hitch. You will figure out how to cover the RV from the elements. 👍🏾
Hi Raoul, thank you so much!
What a fabulous trailer!!! Wow!! Dottie would love the storage, but she needs me around to reach for things in the upper storage and switches placed too high for her to reach. The two-sided closet with mirrors is perfect, too!
At time 5:35, you asked about pressures after running the desert. Yes, those are normal. The pressure that counts is the cold inflation pressure when you start out. Higher pressures are normal while traveling. I only check for irregular tire wear and bulges while on the road. I suggest getting a TPMS if you are worried about it (unless it came with one - I think it did, didn't it?). I watch the temperatures by touching the tires and the axle hub. They should only be warm. If a tire is hot, you either have under inflation or a tread failure in progress. If the hub is hot, the bearing is bad and you need a new one. Anyway, that's what I do.
Thank you for sharing the video of your new trailer! It looks wonderful!!! Congratulations!
Take care, safe travels, and God bless y'all!
Bob and Dottie
Hello Bob and Dottie, thank you! The trailer came with TPMS. Never experience such a fluctuation of tire pressure and temperature. Huge learning curve. Thank you again for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Congratulations on the new rig! Hope that you make a ton of new memories in it. We also have a GDRV 5er, but opted for the Reflection line to get our desired layout (341RDS). We have many of the same features as your rig, including the 12v DC refer, the on-demand water heater, and the CRE3000 suspension upgrade. We also got the SwagMan bike holder for the rear hitch (HAD to have an RV-approved system to carry our e-bikes)....very good choice! Sorry that you can't quite fit it into your RV garage...what a shame!!
However, you may have traded one hauling issue for another. In your truck purchase video, you mentioned your concerns about overloading your previous truck with your previous trailer, when filled with fluids. I like the looks and features of your new truck, but I think that you are on the ragged edge of overloading your new truck trying to pull a 15k pound 5er with a 2500-class truck (turbo diesel notwithstanding). I see so many 250/2500 class trucks trying to drag around 14k, 15k, or 16k pound fifth wheels and I cringe because it seems very clear that many folks are not really looking at the true limit of their truck's towing capability which is the PAYLOAD CAPACITY (printed on the yellow sticker inside the driver's door jamb). Let's get into details. Your 2903RL has a GVWR of 15k with a stated pin wt of 2,193 pounds, which is the nominal 15% (actually, 14.6%) ratio. Many folks like to be more conservative and use an 18 or 20% ratio. In your truck purchase video, you stated that the payload capacity was 3,300 lbs. So, taking that truck limit and subtracting (round numbers and rough approximations) 2,200 lbs for the pin, 150 lbs for the hitch, 325 lbs for you nice folks, 75 lbs for the airbags, 50 lbs for tools, 25 lbs for the pup and supplies, 25 lbs for snacks, cooler, and misc, and 75 lbs for emergency gear (those heavy chains, flares, tow straps, jumper cables, etc.) leaves you with only 375 lbs of safety margin (with this estimated and hypothetical configuration). If you went with a more conservative 20% pin wt ratio (i.e., 3,000 lbs pin wt), you would be OVER your payload as soon the two of you jumped into the cab....no dog, no tools, no safety equipment (and no hitch, for that matter). You stated in the 2903RL tour video that you plan to go to the Cat Scales.....I certainly recommend that you do that with your fully-loaded 5er....be sure to measure the entire rig AND then remeasure with only the truck to see what you actually have loaded on your bed (and in the cab). You may be fine with using a 15% pin wt ratio and with having a few hundred pounds of remaining payload capacity for safety margin and for legal considerations, but at least you will have the real numbers from the scales with which to make informed decisions about how the 5er is loaded and what your comfort zone is for pin wt. rating. Best of luck and safe travels!!
[p.s. I wanted more truck for our 5er duties, so we went with an F350 SuperDuty SRW which has a payload capacity of 4,005 lbs to drag around our 13,995 GVWR fifth wheel. At the end of our last major trip (with lots of new "treasures" aboard), we had a bit over 900 pounds of actual remaining capacity for a safety margin. FYI]
How Bob, thank you! We are very close. However knowing my background I know all about liability. I wish I could dive into a 1 ton. The truck does exceptionally well towing the new rig. I think the most important fact is not to overload your trailer. Just because you can pack 3,000 lbs of storage, I choose not to do that. However, thank you so much for taking the time to right all this. I am OCD and all about weight. Thank you again. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Congratulations on your new rig! How exciting.
Hi Guys!! We love it so much. Huge learning curve. Thank you for joining us. Much love! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️

Thank you so much!!
Watching you install the gooseneck gave me enough courage to do it myself . I’m ordering the same stuff for my 2500 I’ll be sure to use your code at checkout, thanks Stan and Rhonda 🙏
That’s awesome!! Be sure to let us know if you have any questions! You got this 👍~ Rhonda and Stan
I’m jealous nice rig 👊👍😎
Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Nice!
Hi Rick, hope all is well! Great to hear from you!
Congrats! That's super nice you two! I bet you could alter your RV door height cheaper and easier than building a cover / protector. If it hits just your door and not the opening then you could lengthen the upper door rails so your door goes all the way up. Options if you got them.
Thank you for joining us! We are looking into a low profile air conditioner for the front of the rig. It will bring our height under 13’. We will be golden then.
Wow! what a beautiful trailer. -Michelle
Hi Michelle, thank you so much! 🙏🏼❤️
So we had the same issue with our garage height and we were able to raise the entrance by a foot with some construction. Of course we had to buy/install a new, bigger garage door but it is amazing!
Hello Carolyn, we had a viewer comment and told us about a low profile air conditioner. That might be a cheaper option for us. Thank you for your comment. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
congratulations may it serve you well. it might be easier to use a second set of low profile wheels /tires to lower the overall height allowing you to use your RV garage.
Hello Richard, thank you that is a great idea! The problem is we have a steep driveway leading up to our RV garage. Someone suggested a low profile front Aircondition. Thank you for joining us!
Hello we are gonna pick up our 2903
on Saturday. We love your videos and are also going with the Andersen gen 3 hitch. Do you have a link of the floor covering in your pass thru storage?
Sorry Justin I got them at Home Depot
Nice job sir .
Hi Rob, thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda 🙏🏼❤️
Congratulations on your new beautiful 5th wheel. Will we see you at the Grand Design National Rally this year.
Hello Marty, we will not be at the National Rally this year. My last living Aunt turns 93 years old. She lives in Washington. We will be sad to miss it. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I have trailer envy❤️
Let some of the air out of your tires when you park it in your garage.. that will make sure you check you air pressure before every trip ... just saying
@@MrLowell13 thank you! Not sure it would make much of a difference. I need to be four inches lower. We are probably going to put on a low profile air conditioner. Thank you for your comment. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I see you are changing your pin box to the moryde. Are you experiencing chucking with the current pin box and the Andersen hitch? I am trying to decide which hitch will be best for me. I currently have the B&W companion, very heavy. I am torn between the Andersen and the Gen-y.
We are not experiencing any chucking at all it tows like a dream! I just think the MORryde is better quality pin box. It is just an up grade. The Andersen is the best choice for me. It is so easy to hook-up. Just my opinion, I can out my rear window where to stop when hooking up. You can’t do that with a Gen Y or a Goosebox.
that is beautiful! I like it much better than the Brinkley. We just sold our 2022, 2970rl. It was a great camper. If we didn’t get a motorhome we would’ve loved one of these. Congratulations!
Hello Linda, we looked at the Brinkley. We find this unit far more superior. We love it! Plus, it comes with the Grand Design family. None like it! Thank you for joining us. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Love the kitchen sink. What are the things you found to be more superior than Brinkley? Wife & I hope to be full-time next year & don't want to overlook anything with our next forever home.
Hi there, Great question! Comparing the Brinkley 2900 to the Grand Design 2903l we found several things to be superior; the windows, the window on the front cap, the size of the pantry, the list of things we like more goes on. We also feel the quality and customer service is second to none. Just gotta find something you love! Hope this helps. 👍 ~Rhonda and Stan
We also have the Influence 2903 for about 2 weeks now & loving it!
We traded our class A motor home.
I’m keeping my tires at 120psi cold. The pressure will rise substantially, possibly to 135 psi or more (the class A pressure would rise even more). No worries, all tires are designed to do that as they heat from use.
As for parking in your garage, if you drop your tire pressure on your RV down to 15-20psi, It could lower your rig enough To get through your garage door. Just a thought 🤔
Hi John, thanks for the info.
Is your nectar bed a shorter one? We have the 2500rl like you used to have. I also have a bad back and need a better bed, but not afire one. 🙋♀️
Hi Kathy, The Nectar we bought is a regular size queen, 60x80. It will fit in the Imagine 2500 RL just fine. We have slept on it for two weeks now and are really loving it. It’s a medium/firm, but if you want softer you can go to their website and see what they have to offer. I always thought I needed a softer bed for my back, but I haven’t woken up once yet with back pain. Hope this helps! ~ Rhonda
I purchased my current rv new in 2015, so itd about to hit 10 years, i recently went looking for a new rig, but the prices had me dizzy, and when they said 20 years financing available i LOLd... beautiful rig you got, safe travels ✌️

Thank you so much for posting this though tour of your new rig. We have the same model and as it’s so new on the market not much information is out there for it. I asked you the question before about the frig being able to be opened when the slide is closed and you answered me (thank you very much) and gave a more complete show of it in this video (thank you again). It will be interesting to see future posts of yours to give us another’s prospective on our own rig. By the way, Grand Design is going to fix our blocked frig problem in May. Hopefully it goes well.
Hi Susan, you are so welcome. You were the reason we did the complete walkthrough. What do you mean Grand Design is going to fix your blocked refrigerator? So you can access the freezer too? Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
@@OverTheHillAdventures
Hi guys, to answer your question. One of the reasons we purchased this unit was because we were told it had a 12 volt frig that we could run while in route and access it as we are on the road at 5 days at a time frequently. On our very first trip after buying the unit we realized that we could not open the refrigerator side when the slide was in. We called the dealer and was told that the unit was as is, they couldn’t do anything about it. We contacted Grand Design and was told it was designed that way. I did a lot of searching and finally found another unit that we were able to close the slide and indeed you could access the fridge when it was closed. I did some more searching and found your post where you said you could access it also. So after getting further clarification from you I again contacted Grand Design and they finally listened to me and admitted the island was improperly installed which blocks the fridge door when closed! We have an appointment in mid may to get this corrected. Sorry for the long answer but I want you guys to know you have made a difference. Also like you this is my 2nd Grand Design and I really like their products. I’m happy that they are going to stand behind their mistake and correct it. Thanks again for the great tour of your rig. Happy travels.
We are happy to hear we were able to be a help to you! Even more happy to hear GD is standing behind this and getting it fixed for you! Keep us posted!
I'm interested in what you guys think of the tankless water heater. I like the idea but it takes a bit longer than I'd expect for the water to start to warm. So we find it so far using considerable amount of propane and filling the grey water tank alot quicker than we did with our last 5er with conventional gas/electric Suburban water heater. Endless hot showers are the biggest culprit!
If we are boondocking the warm up water is saved for the toilet. Love the insta but you are right more water. I don’t think it uses more propane compared to warming an entire 6 gallon tank.
On your Cooper tires, once you weigh the rig, see if you can get each axle weight then refer to Cooper Tire Load & Inflation chart for the correct psi setting per the axle weight. Also very important check to see what the Max air pressure rating is for the wheels, the Max psi should be stamped somewhere on the aluminum wheel. It's possible its lower then what the tire max psi is.
I appreciate all the info! Thank you so much! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Our new 415G came with the Travlfi. It worked flawless so far. It even works while towing so your passengers in the tow rig will have wifi.
It was an initial one time fee of $25 plus the plan you picked. It allows you to run over 30 wifi connections. We had 2 streaming TVs and 4 phones and never experienced any issues. Once you create and activate you are able to pick the cellular network for best strength or performance, OR just leave it on auto and it will pick it for you. It utilizes 3 service providers AT&T, Verizon, and T-mobile.
So far we are pleased.
Hello Itsa, what if there is no cell service at all? Does it still work?
@@OverTheHillAdventures cell service is required. Atleast some kind of a signal.
@@Itsa_Mea thank you that is good to know!
Great video!!!
What do you cover your e-bikes with?
Hi Susan, we have it in our Amazon store. I will send you a link.

Are you going to check and see how many lag screws and if they’re half inch or not in the front deck of your fifth wheel?
On a different note depending on how much room you need to get it in your garage and how long you are going to leave it in there you can get smaller rims and tires to make it fit because you don’t want to be charging them every weekend but if it’s for a few months maybe worth it
The problem with that is I could never get it up my driveway. The rear jacks will hit. Thank you!
I would if I see a problem. Just can’t see myself digging into a new rig.
I was thinking you would put the smaller rims and tires on in the driveway and then back it in the garage and you might have to let out some air and fill them back up once you get it inside
What have I been thinking you need to get the front of the trailer lower the back fits in so it’s the truck you have to get lower. Again smaller rims and lower air pressure on tires on the back just to get it in the garage
Congratulations on the new RV, so happy for the two of you!
Hello Walter, thank you so much! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
If you look where the spring assembly meets the frame I see no square tubing to support it.
Hi there, You are right. We are definitely gonna upgrade to the X-Factor from MORryde as soon as we can. Thanks for looking out! ~ Stan and Rhonda
Wow what a nice rig. How is it towing diff than the trailer. We also bought the new design this year 28rl, traded in the trailer. We installed the andersen on the new one ,kind of getting used to the difference in all of it. With the extra height now have to pay attention to tree branches lol
The towing is amazing! So much easier than the bumper pull. There is a huge learning curve. Definitely need to pay more attention. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Love your bedding. May I ask, where did you get it at?
Hi Barbara! Yes, Amazon 👍 I will share the link with you. There are other color options and styles as well. It’s super cozy too! Thanks for reaching out! ~ Rhonda and Stan

Great video. I’m interested in the same rig. What is your tow vehicle?
Hi Marie, we have a 2022 Chevrolet 2500HD Turbo Diesel. It tows our rig perfectly. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Love your new rig! I'm using the Anderson ultimate Gen 3 on my 2024 Chevy Gas 2500HD pulling a similar weight fifth wheel with a 2900 lb pin weight I will be interested to see what your pin weight is. I'm thinking of installing the Air Lift system to reduce bed squat, why did you go with the 7500XL over the 5000 series?
Hi Sam, I wouldn’t doubt I am close to the same pin weight. I did go to the Cat Scale and made sure I wasn’t over weight. I did not unhook to see what the actual weight of the truck was. Here are some numbers: My steering axle was 5,000lbs rear axle was 6,000lbs. Trailer weight was 11,020lbs Gross weight 22,620lbs. I went with the 7,500XL strictly by reviews. Air Lift system is awesome. I’m only running 35lbs of air on each side and the ride is so smooth! No squat at all. I will be putting out the install video soon. Highly recommended it! Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
@@OverTheHillAdventures Thanks for the reply, look forward to the video. My steering axle is 4320 (gas engine) rear axle 6580 and gross 21560. My pin weight was closer to 3100 lbs! I'll be adding the Air Lift system asap.

@@EuroCar911 so my friend has a 2024. I looked at his truck. He has an HD3500. The only difference I could see and he agreed was one extra helper leave spring. Same motor same everything! I love the comforter to!
Go ahead and bury your head on the frame flex, but you'll be singing a whole new tune when it happens. It is a nice trailer, but like all things, including homes, they are only as good as the foundation they are built on. Oh... BTW, frame failure is occurring on non-drop frames and low profile 5th wheels as well. Wishing you never have to go through what we did. Enjoy, but keep an eye on it.
So sorry what you went through. We are well aware of what is going on and not burying our head we assure you. However, this our second Grand Design with no major problems in 35,000 miles with our first. The Influence is built solid. The frame flex is in all RV’s. Thank you for the warning. We hope you the best. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
The first thing I would do is upgrade the batteries if you are planning any boondocking.
We have 660 watts of solar on the roof. No problems boondocking and never had any problems before with just two lead acid batteries.
Be careful with those batteries! They produce hydrogen and can cause a fire. I went with lithium for boondocking and peace of mind knowing they don't off gas.
@@OverTheHillAdventures all we do is boondocking. Usually one location for 4-6 weeks. Our Reflection has 1200 watts solar and two 410ah lithium batteries. I only run the generator when we use the AC which is very little in Colorado. We tow a side x side behind our rig and ride the trails daily. That means our 3 cats and one dog are alone for several hours. Lead acid batteries produce hydrogen when charging, which is why they are vented, and can cause a fire. Lithium is a safer way to go. Having said all this, I still installed a fire/smoke detector and 2 puck size automatic fire extinguishers in the front storage where the batteries are located. Peace of mind goes a long way for us.
12:50 am. We had the same problem so we took the front air conditioner off and added a low profile one it worked. Front is higher then back. Our door is only 13 high.
Wow Sue! Thank you so much! What brand did you go with?
Coleman low profile
@@suevarble4401thank you so much!
It was going to cost 10 thousand to raise the door up so the air was cheaper. We did it ourselves. Please measure when hooked to truck. Ours is different rv.
Thank you!
Hi Stan and Rhonda! Beautiful rig!!
FYI, we pick up our new camper tomorrow!
Rhonda, I'm about a half inch shorter than you. I totally understand the struggle with high fans and cabinets.
Is your nextor bed diemer or softer? We definitely like the price point.
Hi Jane! We are super excited for you guys! So many adventures lie ahead 👏 Sounds like we are both vertically challenged 😂 The Nectar we bought at Sam’s Club only came in the medium/firm but strangely, we like it! We are used to our tempur pedic bed at home, but this one is almost more comfortable. I think our one at home needs to be replaced. It’s a little saggy, lol. If you go to the Nectar Website they have different options available. ~ Rhonda

Hey guys just found your channel recently and subscribed. If you have time to respond I am curious of your thoughts on your bike rack. I have a reflection 31mb and need to get something so I don’t have to keep loading our lectric bikes inside our fifth wheel. Lots of choices and they are pretty expensive so I wanted to get some opinions before I order one. I know you have had your fifth wheel for a while now so I don’t have to tell you how much nicer the tow is, but it does limit a lot of options for national and state parks. That is when I miss the travel trailer. Stay safe and happy trails!
Hi Michael, we love the swagman. It is made for the RV and e-bikes up to tires 5 inches thick. After traveling with our bikes over 6,000 miles on the back of our trailer, I can actually say I would definitely recommend it. It was a little pricey but we have very expensive e mountain bikes. We had to buy an extension because our handle bars were hitting the back of the trailer. With the Lectric bikes I don’t think you will have any problems. We have the bike rack in our Amazon store. I will get you a link. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️

Stan, make sure you call lippert and see if you can put the new pin on your rig. I watched a lippert video about them saying people are not checking to see if the morride is a fit with your frame.
They crack me up!! They only want you to use their stuff. Well of course it’s a huge monopoly.
@@OverTheHillAdventures the video was about the frame issues. They said that people were putting on pins that the base was larger than the original and that it didn't have proper support. I would also check if the change will mess up your warranty.
@@debyarger3084 basically they have issues with frame flex and blaming everyone else except themselves. I’m not worried about their warranty. The have a rigid Rino Box. The MORryde is a win win.
We have a Cougar 290RLS and one of my biggest dislikes are the side cabinets by the bed and it looks like GD did them right. I wish Cougar built them that way as well.
Hi James, they are very nice and open. We are definitely enjoying our new rig! Thank for joining us. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
So what was your big mistake?
We can’t figure it out.
Beautiful fifth wheel.
Hello Betty, sorry you miss it! We did not measure the height of the trailer be fore we brought it home. It doesn’t fit in our RV garage. To be honest I’m glad we didn’t know we would probably not of bought this rig. Having said that, we are in love with our new Influence. We will probably have to replace the front air conditioner to a low profile. We definitely want it in the garage. Lake Havasu summers are brutal. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
You can take your Champion boondocking, just get a 50 to 30 reduction adapter.
Already done ☑️ And it works just fine! Don’t forget the bonded ground plug 🔌 😃
