After finally getting the hang of driving on track with no aero.. I think i'm ready to add some downforce!! in today's video we install the Spoon Sports Carbon fiber wing on the s2000. this is the last piece to complete the spoon kit on the car!

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Dustin is gonna be running 3 Honda S2000 with spoon engines. On top of that he just came into Throtl and ordered 3 t66 turbo's with NOS's and a Motec System Exhaust.

Dustin hmmm So 3 Spoon Engines. If this is true, are you doing this in order to drop the new engine in if the other one blows on the track? Would it be wise also to buy an extra built transmission as well? I figured that keeping the S2K N/A would be for engine reliability, but if you have 3 engines ready to drop in then that should compensate for the fact you will be using turbos that will cause more wear and tear on the engines. Question? Will the transmission be enough or will you like I asked earlier purchase one or two extra built transmissions to compensate for possible grenading transmissions? Thanks for this great content Dustin. It's amazing to see where you came from when you had the old Civic Type R like 2 1/2yrs. ago to now. Keep up the good work and congrats to your hard work and the achievements that hard work has created. The Sky is the limit for you and Tiana.

Still not a big fan of the spoon kit for the s2000 but man the car looks great!
Also you won't want to mount the wing any higher. It's a 3D shape airfoil Sonita designed to work at/just below the roof line. If you want to go higher/further back and also chassis mount then you start looking at 2D shaped airfoils like the Apr wings

The overall execution of car here is great. Like I said I'm not the biggest fan of the spoon kit and never really liked it but the car as a whole looks great. Changing my opinion tbh

If he's not cracking front rotors he's not at the limit of the brake system and he's not going to get any extra performance swapping from one brand to the other. If anything the spoon will be worse as they're drilled and they're notorious for cracking quickly.
A lot of these jdm companies like spoon and MUGEN have shit braking options
@@KiranPatel-fk1pg it's not really shit options it's just pretty much the same option just rebranded 10 different ways. The spoon calipers are good for what they are though

@@KiranPatel-fk1pg that's true. Most track guys run whatever brand blanks they can get for cheap because no matter the brand, once you're at the braking limits you're going to be cracking rotors regardless of brand or money. Then you go bbk
Nice work! Honda still sells the CR trunk stoppers to help minimize the trunk bending if ya need them.

Good job Dustin! It has become a proper Track Car! Check the AP2 taillights, they are more modern and way cooler with the LED's. Can't wait for the AEM V2 and a proper tune for that roaring F!

not necessarily. its going to give him grip along with drag so hes not going to be going faster automatically.
wings definitely have a noticeable difference. I have a TTS that has a mechanical wing. I normally put it up manually instead of waiting to hit 75mph for it to go up itself. and ive gotten to the point where I can feel the difference when I drive after I get under 55 mph and it puts itself down, and its a small little spoiler so i can only imagine something like that Spoon wing. You'll definitely be in the 1:50s soon enough

The downforce from a height drop in the track might warp the trunk and the spoon roof cannot prevent it to flex from the wing, ask Jackie lol
don't know how hard this car is gonna be driven but you may have to reinforce wing mounts inside or check for flex in the trunk often.
Jackie was also running a much bigger and better wing than the spoon wing. With some extra rubber stoppers Dustin will be fine
@@toddxhiggins yeah I was second guessing myself on how much downforce difference there was but in doubt I just said it, better safe than sorry ;)
@@yasu7494 3D shaped wings aren't crazy downforce makers. Just enough to benefit from them. Most people run this style with the voltex type 2 on the s2000 and get away with it. You find that the boots start to buckle and bend once 2D shaped wings are used like with APR
@@toddxhiggins hmmm I see what you mean that's quite interesting, I've never thought about what dimension produces more downforce on a car but it makes sense since 3d shapes help produce lift on a a plane 🤔

Those rotors are going to crack because the drilled holes cause the rotor to heat up and cool at different rates causing cracking and warping. Your better off running a two piece disc.
Also more importantly when is it being supercharged or turbocharged?!

why would you swap in drilled rotors for a track car? they are notorious for cracking. should have left the stoptech brakes or upgraded to 2 piece.

Skeptical than an engineered for the track part will make any difference for a track car?, no offense but there's a reason your buddies use them on their track cars.
Are you using a proportioning valve for your break bias? And be careful I've had drilled rotors crack on me.

Should have retained n momo monte carlo steering wheel as its the trademark for spoon. Im guessing additional upgrades for your s2000 in the future will be other brands and will not be definitely a spoon s2000

Technically a 3d wing like that should be below roof level, used on sedans and such to sit lower, more efficient aero. Definitely looks really good though!

You sure that was the drivers side rotor wouldn't the air come in from the top of the rotor or do the find act more of a vacuum and suck air out
