- PLANTS! and lots of em! This sketchbook session was immensely fun to do and I learned so much about drawing and painting plants, painting with gouache, and realizing I need to brush up more on my cat drawing skills! As a continuation of my 5 simple sketchbook tips video ( • how to keep a sketchbo... ) I show a real time painting demonstration of how I fill a sketchbook spread and utilize it to experiment and study the mediums and subjects that I am interested in learning. Drawing in my sketchbook is always so much fun for me to do, and I hope you guys draw along with me or just put me on in the background to keep you company as you work. I hope this gives you some sketchbook inspiration and motivation as well, you got this!
I really enjoyed making this video, and hope to make more like it (maybe some shorter versions as well) in the future!

I am living for your channel right now! You are so articulate and intelligent while maintaining your own quirky personality. It's so refreshing to hear the unapologetic thought process of someone just exploring and trying things that they aren't even sure will work. I love how you shows your process and explaining yourself. I find it hard to describes my own work. But seeing you give me ideas to talk more about my art in my video
glad it's helpful!! I definitely struggle a TON with verbalizing my process as well as explaining my ideas with my art, but youtube has gave me a lot more practice with it, good to know I sound somewhat coherent!! lol

I love how you’ve shown your art process from the conception and ideas phase all the way up to final product. I often find myself struggling to move past the sketching phase but this has been a great reminder to not be afraid of committing to seeing a piece through to completion :)) Love the work as always, I can’t wait to see what you make next

Very true. What helped me with this is that I always say myself: You can always redraw a drawing if you are not happy after all. :) Happy drawing.
I have been trying to draw plants as well on my sketchbook, and I fell in love with drawing anthuriums- mostly the rare ones, so interesting to color🥰

I appreciate you mentioning that this isn't what your sketch book normally looks like. I struggle with the idea that I have to make something amazing if I'm using nice art supplies. I have always usually just used lined paper because it takes that expectation away. I've been really working on trying to just explore and have fun vs striving for perfection that doesn't exist lol. It's been hard to get past that.

Let's gooo fellow warriors cats trash!! I'm still reading warriors and I make so much art of them and cats in general love this! It was really cool to see another artist approached a medium they haven't used in a while, I've also gone through the rusty phase of going back to gouache and acryla gouache, but it'd so fun when we can be patient with ourselves! 💗

My mom has had great success with her gladiolus plants this year even though we've had pretty consistent temperatures in the low-mid 80s! So they can definitely handle the heat. The only real issue is that they're very tall and a little top heavy so they don't often make it throuh summer storms once they've bloomed:(

i know this video’s a little older but i’m going back and watching some old vids. i love the way you work with gouache, i’d love a more in depth tutorial on your process with under painting and things like that. it’s also cool to see someone taking notes in their sketchbook, i do that too!

My favorite Warrior Cat is Spottedleaf, love her. I had a major obsession with Warrior Cats, I drew a bunch of them in my tween years!

i think a really fun idea would be to redraw your old warriors fanart so you can study the way you actually used to draw cats. whenever i feel i don’t remember how to draw something i always go back and look at past sketches or art of it because then i remember i was once able to do it so i must be able to again with some practice !
