Why would I
To think luigi became real three years ago....
There's something so surreal about seeing the demo we heard Miyamoto talk about... piece of SM64 history right there!
Ate you sure it's Luigi, I thought I heard someone say the color contrast messes it up and it's still mario
@@bluebaron6858 considering the quality of the footage that's always possible. But I want to believe!!
@@bluebaron6858 Luigi's files from the gigaleak have a date of June 1995 in the header, and he is present on a model list from March of that same year. Further more, we know he wasn't fully scrapped until February 1996 according to interviews (Would directly link to them if CZcams didn't flag comments with links; look up "Shmuplations Super Mario 64 - 1996 Developer Interviews"). There's no reason for it to not be Luigi here if his model fully existed by the time the Spaceworld 1995 event took place.
God I hate you spergs
Right? We're solving decades-old mysteries out here.
I was born for this historical moment
Yup
💜 ✌️
I’m stealing this line.
@@suprshin good because I stole it too. Keep the cycle going 💪
On one hand, I could totally believe that color bleed could make a Mario model look like Luigi, I have a harder time believing that Nintendo would create an experience with two identical Marios. They wouldn't.
Well…
czcams.com/video/ElZ6NeZNV44/video.htmlsi=3s1_b1oPAX3wVnvQ
100% correct, the entire reason Luigi exists was so Nintendo could AVOID making a game with two Marios
How about 128 identical Marios?
I wouldn’t believe it considering you can see actual Mario crawling across the ground in the footage.
@@SK438 Only if there's a gimmicky reason ;)
Though we definitely knew multiplayer was implemented at one point based on interviews and even got the official Luigi models from the leak, this is the first time we've ever seen anything from the multiplayer mode itself! Huge
I wonder what else the extended B-Roll is hiding
the decomp has remnants of multiplayer all over too
It's amazing that so many people witnesses this in person, and yet for many years Luigi was only a rumor.
That one guy’s uncle was right all along!!
@@LCOmusic😂 my uncle works at Nintendo.
Luigi in Spaceworld is like the Mike Wazowski in Monster inc..
Too true! 🤣
1995, wow. To think, Japan will never again be this strange and obscure land where we only hear about it through magazines. Today news drops and is translated faster than the Japanese have a chance to read it
Now to find that extended B-roll
I like how in the remake for the DS they incorporated Luigi's helicopter spin move into the game. I think adding Luigi into the remake was a smart move because many people wanted him to be playable in the original.
I wish the DS version also received a remake.
actually i think the spin jump was just the triple jumps move back then
Monumental find for gaming history
7 is real
Who is 7
Oh man, Spaceworld 95 content is like the golden grail of Mario 64 history, it is actually insane that this has been found. I like that we have to zoom in on it like it's bigfoot footage, like SM64 Luigi is a cryptid.
Honestly, even if its not Luigi, and it's just a second mario, that doesn't make this footage any less cool.
this is INSANE. i thought we had all the footage of the beta, nevermind footage of luigi himself. i thought they removed luigi long before they were showing the game to the public, I'm amazed they showed that obvious test level too. awesome
Babe wake up, new beta Mario 64 analog horror content just dropped
The beta footage is simultaneously new and decades old!
Amazing to see how many mysteries still lie in this game. I've been obsessed with the game's development for the better part of a decade now, and have spent hours reading through the leaked source code trying to find unused content or development leftovers, yet there is still so much more to know. We've known from interviews, decomp, and the ique leak for a while now luigi was in the game, but seeing real footage of luigi in the actual spaceworld demo is very surreal to me.
Amazing... seriously a very big moment. What a win for all of us oldschool N64 fans
He spins just like he does in 64 DS!
Mario himself had that move in early builds of SM64.
@@firstnamelastnamesb Isn't it also in the final game when you bounce off the heads of some enemies like those flying Shy Guy-like ones in Shifting Sand Land? Mario even says, "Boing!"
@@ShuajoX Yes but, if memory serves me right, originally Mario's triple jump would end in a spinning jump.
@@ShuajoX Yup!
@@inendlesspain4724 You're right, yeah. It was there instead of the front flip.
This is incredible, such a cool piece of gaming history.
That’s insane how right under our noses that urban legend could’ve been easily proven 20 years ago
They should collect the bounty that IGN posted back in November 1996. They were gonna give a hundred bucks to anyone that could legitimately prove that Luigi was in Super Mario 64.
I've seen so many "every copy of 64 is personalized" videos on here that seeing ACTUAL beta footage of Luigi in this game feels so unsureal
thats sick ngl, hopefully the shoshinkai recreations add this
I want a puzzle game, whose entire premise is this:
You play as a kid, who has video games of his own. You grow up with some, but EXTREMELY limited internet access, and it's the early years of said internet anyway. You get most of your information from game magazines and friends on the playground.
You constantly hear all these urban legends, that you can unlock or find all these strange, fantastical things in your games.
Usually, the goals to attain these are long, drawn out, convoluted, and extreme time wasters.
Except, in this case, all of them are true.
And no, this isn't one of those stupid "Take the child concept but make a backroom's horror out of it" idea.
Just a game based around a kid completing and making all of these urban legends come true.
How do we not just have pictures and testimony from people who were there? Yes, it's been 28 years, but c'mon now. Those kids probably have sub 20 16 star runs under their belt by now. This is too cool though! I love stuff like this
He was refound 3 years later after his first discovery in 2020
Why did nobody talked about seeing Luigi in the Spaceworld demos? It's so surreal that it just was there and nobody had at least a memory of it
Maybe in japanese forums they did
This is fucking unreal wtf. Imagine if this were found before the gigaleak.
This is insane! I've watched this bits and pieces from this Spaceworld but I never ever noticed that.
How can I ever begin...this feels unreal...
Huge discovery.
It gives me hope even for a possible SMW Beta footage someday
I’m pretty sure there is a Nintendo Power with a picture, or at least talk, of Luigi in Mario 64.
Glad you guys picked this up. There's been quite a few new footage captures lately. I still say this is the precursor to Super Mario 128.
I wish Spaceworld was able to have been better documented because so many things ranging from this to the Sunshine beta fascinate me about Nintendo's scrapped beta ideas.
Looks like it was red for a brief second so perhaps the color bleed theory is correct. Can see green tint on the screen from color bleed. It would be cool if it was luigi but idk.
I don’t think it would make much sense for 2 Mario’s to be in frame. You can clearly see _actual_ Mario crawling across the floor in this footage.
@@user-ku3sr7cl3u what part of beta wasnt clear enough to you?
@@Soulintent95no part, it makes no sense that there would be 2 Mario’s. Very clearly Luigi and Mario
and again as discussed, you can tell there’s another character there crawling across the ground. This test stage has no objects so you can put 2 and 2 together
@@user-ku3sr7cl3u It is truthfully amazing how stupid you are. And I work with the public, so congratulations. Amazing me with stupidity is quite the feat.
@@Soulintent95 but then why would nintendo make two mario models, but make one match proportionally with the luigi model as opposed to the mario model? that doesnt make sense, nor does the color bleed theory
My goodness, this feels like a more important experience and time in space than a dangin' annual holiday. And dare I say, even more memorable and historically wonderful date than so many more that are important but not as "important" and memorable.
So, thanks for sharing this and letting me have this experience.. meow
💜 ✌️
Didn't we already know about this? I swear a lot of big Nintendo channels covered an interview where they said multiplayer was real, but when they were designing levels, they had a hard time keeping the verticality of levels while also keeping smooth multiplayer functionality, and ditched multiplayer as a result. They even went into detail about how it worked. Why is everyone so surprised about this?
It's the first time we've seen it. Not the first time we've heard about it.
@@hard4games That's fair.
THIS IS INSANE... i truly want to see the real SW95 beta irl. Also, aren't there any magazines reports from the even that talk about Luigi?
That is Mario, the camera is blending the colours creating a bit of an illusion.
I highly disagree with this statement. His proportions are lankier and line up much closer with the leaked Luigi model than Mario’s, not to mention we already see Mario crawling along the ground through the clip
It made his head narrow and tall, too?
nintendo themselves have mentioned trying mario and luigi co-op for sm64 and they specifically said they were able to get it working but its was too laggy to use in normal gameplay they did specifically mention how they had mario and luigi on a flat plain together
First the giga leak and now a short footage of Luigi
This is one of my favorite CZcams channels.
the fact that the multiplayer camera looks like one from sm64 multiplayer by skelux ( i think its made by skelux? )
When will Nintendo learn that old ROMs like these would make *really great* unlockables alongside concept artwork and other development information.
First more Sonic 2 lost stages were found and now this!
bruh. my mind is blown. THANK YOU!!! to you and everyone...incredible
L IS REAL? ALWAYS HAS BEEN... (Astronauts pistol meme)
So what are we seeing here?
What we see on that TV is not a direct feed from an N64, its clearly a video (of N64 proto footage sure, but you see it cut to that segment and then cut to a different game), probably being played on (S-)VHS.
So its a direct feed from an N64 dev unit, recorded to (most likely) VHS, edited together with other game clips, and recorded to a master tape (another (S-)VHS) for display on the screen itself. The screen is then filmed at a distance and at a weird angle by a mid-1990s video camera, recording to tape (likely (S-)VHS, or at most betacam), edited as part of the encompassing video and recorded to a master tape (probably betacam?), recorded to a normal VHS for distribution, then that tape sits for 25 years before being relatively-poorly digitized, compressed for local storage, then compressed by youtube for the luigiblood video, then ripped and edited as part of the H4G video, compressed for H4G local storage, then compressed by youtube again for this youtube video here.
TREASURE! L IS REAL 2401! 💚💚⭐⭐💚💚⭐⭐
that Space World 95 demo needs to be leaked.
Amazing. Like a time machine!!!!
Hiding in plain sight, the whole time
"A green Luigi comes spinning down joining Mario".
We got Luigi but now we need mama luigi
Luigiblood is an MVP for doing this. His efforts and hard work continues to be a huge help for game preservation.
I'm not sure. The light bleed comments about it may be right. When they stop spinning it looks more like the Mario model and shifted back more red.
Yeah I see it too
I dunno how that would work as you can clearly see Mario crawling next to this other “Mario”
@user-ku3sr7cl3u That's not that crazy, especially this being a demo show too.
@@lionvscowwould it not make more sense that it’s Luigi and Mario? 2 players that’s been talked about forever now? Not to mention Luigi’s graphical files in the leaks, it would make less sense for there to be 2 Marios than a Luigi and Mario.
@@lionvscowWhy would make a demo with two of the main character? When has that ever been a thing? And why do that when you have a model for Luigi already made?
L is real… and we have the proof.
it does look like it turns to red toward the end of the spin, looks like color bleed
Wut 2 videos in the same week !? I love beta SM64 stuff
oh that's amazing
"LUIGI!!! I'm gonna have a beer about it" - hard4games
That's fucking huge, damn
Yes luigi!
It was proven since 1996 when Miyamoto said Luigi was in the game and was cut months before it went gold.
We see another character on the third television
WOW! History!
Look at Mario 64 splitscreen mod it’s really cool and if u know how to mod it’s super fun to play with friends
Awesome find. Imagine how easy it could have been for a split screen multiplayer Mario 64 at 30fps if Nintendo had the current engine rewrite and optimisation does by Kaze.
Well first you invent a time machine
People were giving me shit in the schoolyards back in the 90s for saying luigi was going to be playable in mario 64
Well whose lauging now
It's cool how even in the 90s the rumors got passed down about Luigi in mario 64 and who knows the rumor might've even started from an actual nintendo employee leaking the information at first before the star fountain thing theory
this is a good week for video game preservation
I'm so haaa-aard so hard for Mario 64 beta footage
THAT'S IT?
THAT'S THE LUIGI FOOTAGE?
I'm not 100% convinced it isn't metal, but I'm not unconvinced it's Luigi either.
LUIGIBLOOD THE GOAT
I TOLD YOU ALL THAT MY DAD WORKS AT NINTENDO. NONE OF YOU BELIEVE ME.
HI HELP HOW I TURN OFF CAPSLOCK ON ANDROID PHONE!?
All it's all good I found it.
*checks date* it’s not April 1st is it?
Luigi foreva
There hasn’t been a video better to eat food along to
I looks like Mario with the metal cap. It looks like kinda green yes, but i think that are reflections of the surroundings.
eeh those gloves are too white for me man
it isn’t, or if it is there’s a secondary Mario somehow. You can see him crawling on the ground on the right side of the screen
Woah this is really interesting…
Luigi is Bugfoot confirmed
I just need new unseen Zelda 64 Dungeon Footage broooo
L IS REAAAAAAAAL
Luigi is blurry like bigfoot.
We been saying it for years!
Wow!!
What I love is how Nintendo made us think that all of these years the L is Real prophecy would be something dark and scary. Turned out to be a REALLY COOL time capsule instead!
Nintendo deliberately leaks info like this all the time! That's Nintendo for ya; they keep it magical!
I also think that looks more like Mario.
Never entered on a video so fast
HOLY SHIT!
I own a Wii RVT-R Reader console and i was wondering how much it is worth.
WHHHAAAAATTTTTTT???!!!?! L is REAL?!
NO FUCKIN WAY
Finally I wait 25 Years for this moment
will the devs not even confirm at all? with any community?
It was already proven in the gigaleak lmao
Am I the only one that sees a Metal Mario and not Luigi?
Can we find someone who was there?
L. Is. Real.
bro we still talking about L is real? Wasnt there that big nintendo hack in 2021 that told us he was in the game? And other stuff, like uncompressed starfox 64 audio?
L is real! Every long time Nintendo fans dream is true! Love your videos Tony!
