I would like to see Geoff Thomson on, very interesting bloke 👍
Done! Thank you for the excellent work and amazing guests. 🙏
Amazing work Steve, my first time watching.
I love how you allow the mood of your guest and the moment to guide the interview, instead of killing the flow of heartfelt expressions because of a list of premeditated questions. Makes your podcast worth watching
Top shelf 👌🏿
I'm also from South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥

@@PedroManuelAmaral Elon doesn't identify as a South African
@@PedroManuelAmaral yeah most South Afticans don't see him as a South African
One thing about South Africans, we are proud of our people.
Black coffee has been an amazing ambassador for our country and we couldn't be happier for him.
I was happy to watch this podcast and to hear about his story a bit more.
Thank you, Steve. Thank you, Black Coffee.
.
He's one of the reasons why the south african house music scene is so big and noticed by the whole world 🌍❤️
This was an incredible interview. Even we as South African's haven't seen this side to Black Coffee. Quality!

He came here first
you can see black coffee is such a strong soul. he was born a warrior
As a South African, I have never heard what happened to Black Coffie's hand. What an interview! Thanks for this, Steve, I am listening.
Thanks for the confirmation, my uncle told me what happened. The both grew up together and went to the same school in Ngangelizwe Mthatha.
Wow, this is surprising. I tell all my DJ students about him and his journey. Very inspiring DJ 💯

I didn’t even noticed he has a disability with his hands 😢
One of South Africa's best musical exports to the world in recent years, absolute hero!
One of Africa’s best musical exports…period!
Indeed
That's an understatement he's beyond that, he's one in a million
I would say one of the best musicians in the world regardless of were he came from
I'm like black coffee, I had an accident and I use only my right arm. and I'm djing....for me he is a great inspiration.
Humble and exceptionally talented. Black Coffee is probably the reason why Amapiano was forged as an authentic South African genre.
I've been blessed enough to see him live and honestly it was an out of this world experience. To hear him open up in this interview so comfortably was beautiful 🙏🏾
Black coffee is my idol... been following him around from when he used to DJ in Soweto to Vaal, Maponya used to follow almost all his gigs... his hustle mentality and passion for what he loves inspired me to follow my designing dream and how intentional he is is how I am with my craft.... Thanks so much for having him and thanks to him to agree to do this because he doesn't do interviews
Man . Black Coffee is just inspirational. He's not trying too hard but he's exceptional. Pure therapeutic podcast for Black Coffee. I'm proud to be South African .
😊😊😊

I simply cannot explain my pride and joy when I heard Steven at 42:20 say the Eastern cape. Representation absolutely matters, representation at this level snuffs out all the air out of your excuses, true and valid as they may be. The seat at the extraordinary table is occupied by the same guy essentially but to know that one of your own is just as capable to confidently hold their own there, lands very differently! Steven in as far as the South African market of this podcast is concerned, you have outdone yourself with this one mate. You introduced us to one of our own😭
Watched this multiple times, I think this is the first podcast that made me emotional♥. I finally understand that these days it does not matter where you come from or who you are. But, how are you continually willing to stand out in any position you find yourselves standing in. I think that's the message 💯, and no one can deliver it better than Steve podcast. Keep growing brother❤ All peace and love from South Africa.
That part "this thing is going to rob me of the thing that I love, and I won't allow it", was powerful. As an African I know this sentence too well. It's where resilience comes from. Thank you Black Coffee, Thank you Steven.
This was an amazing interview. Love Black Coffee and his music. He is living proof that you can do anything if you work hard with intent. So proud to be South African right now.
"One thing I can not stop is music" passion, dedication, persistence, practice.
This guy's story is incredible! Steven, this is a guest that shows you're truly a phenomenal person in real life as well. I love this interview
Thank you Siyabonga 🙏🏽
🇿🇦 He is our Diamond, love you Black Coffee. Thanks for the platform Steven. One love!
I felt a genuine spectrum of emotions that I imagine cannot be explained...EVER.
Hope, grit, courage, vulnerabilty, tenacity, leadership, transcendance on MANY levels & love.
Above all: LOVE.
This was a very impactful inclusive global therapy session & I'm grateful to be a part of this journey called life today for having seen, heard, & felt this share.
Enkosi kakhulu ngalo bhuti Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo & thank you to the aspiring & relevant future D.J. Steven Bartlett

Black Coffee is so humble, he's a huge inspiration and incredibly worthy role model. He's always been a big inspiration for me, hearing his whole story for the first time hit me on another level.
Best to ever do it... As a young boy growing up in Zimbabwe this story is very inspirational and we love it.
I met Black Coffee not knowing how big he was and is ; way back in 2013/2014 by a club called Europa in sunnyside Pretoria south africa, he is a cool person i was still drinking (drunk) i took a picture with him and someone was like dont you know who this is? since then i follow him with his music! stay humble man!
As a South African and already a great fan of this man...super, super, respect! Here in lies the fibre of most great South Africans. Great interview as always. Thank you.
He just played the most incredible set I've ever heard in my life recently in NYC, Black Coffee is phenomenal.
An authentic conversation between two people that are immensely impacting the world 🎯
Listened to Black Coffee for a long term, been to several events of his... I NEVER KNEW HE HAD 1 ARM!!! I treated him before I rate him more now. Big up!
Black Coffee has 2 arms.

Guy’s these are neighbors 🇧🇼🇿🇦, Steven & Black Coffee are from the Southern African.
I’ve never missed a single episode. Proudly South African ❤
Bro We not neighbors we one.Botswana and SA are literally the same and it hard to differentiate between them on culture and how they look.
Best interview I've watched in a long long time. Black Coffee deserves everything good in this world
The level of wisdom engraved in Black Coffee's interviews is unspeakable.
African pride 🇿🇦. Your maturity and humility is everything to the world. Keep shining Black Coffee. Thanks Steven❤

I’m listening now driving to work and hearing about his childhood and family dynamics 😢❤, true inspiration! Great podcast&episode as always Steven. Thank you.🇿🇦🙏🏽
Black Coffe's Superman will forever be my favorite song.
I like this interviewer, his questions are short and straight to the point. He gives the interviewee ample time to express himself without interjecting unnecessarily. Thumbs up man. Keep up the good work.
I love this podcast because he asks meaningful questions and gives the guest space to share their mind without interruption

Been listening to DOAC for almost 2 years how did I miss this!
Black Coffee is my fav musician.
I don’t like clubs but I would def go to one if he plays.
Thank you Steven for this most raw and real episode. I feel like I know Nathi.
Siyabonga for the incredible music you make. Can’t wait to hear a collab with Hans Zimmer or with saxophonist Dulfer! My wish list😊

❤❤❤❤deep interview ever…I swear,99% of South Africans didn’t know what really happened to his hand…well done ✔️
Never knew he had one hand damn
i really like the way black coffee explain himself the difference between Nathi and black coffee it shows that he is in between difference levels. this episode its really inspire me as DJ that i am capable to focus on my career as amapiano artist i love music a lot
Thank you to Black Coffee for being vulnerable, human and authentic (much like his music).
I'm learning so much about character from Black Coffee. So much wisdom and humility. I'm enjoying this.
So surprising to see you've interviewed Black Coffee. Met him at one of his first UK gigs with Tribe here in London when Afro House was very much underground, and subsequent London DJ gigs. Honoured to be interviewed by the BBC for my passion for SA House Music, with special mentions to Black Coffee and his collaboration with fellow Londoner Nathan Adams.
I love his earlier music, when he was part of SHANA and then his solo endeavours. Will be keeping those Vinyls for life. Great DJ with an incredible journey.
Loving these interviews Stephen, keep them coming and keep them varied 🎯🤗❤️
Wow, Steven. I’ve always loved your Podcast. But seeing you get Black Coffee on here, is incredible. THANK YOU. Black Coffee, a real legend for those who know.
Stuff like this is what sets your apart, Steven.
Thank you for this interview. Being a South African born girl, I am beyond inspired by this session. May our good Lord do you good.
At the moment while I still going through listening to this podcast, I just think of how much pain we go through in this life, just the act and the type as well as the massiveness of the impact are different, but the sorrow is digging deep inside.
The pursuit of happiness.... He's on his true path, dancing between his 2 persons to achieve his greatness. Watching from JHB, South Africa
Fellow South African🥰, this was one episode I was not going to miss.
Thank you sooo much for this conversation Steve, I've always known Black Coffee and loved his music, but now I know how he became, and I feel much more connected to his music now because I know where it comes from. This was good
One of the BEST interviewers. You actually let the guest talk and you ask some amazing questions that lead to more storytelling. Bravo.
Wow! I had so much respect for Black Coffee as an amazing DJ and producer, and had no idea he'd had an accident...but now I admire him even more! Very powerful and blessed with strong women in his life! Love Love Love - grounded and full of respect
This was therapy for Black Coffee, much respect for your honesty and sharing your story.
Steve has a way of making people comfortable and assured. I can't pin it for now but hopefully soon, I will be able to. This is the very reason why a lot become vulnerable and cry. You're a doing a great job Steven. Big up to the most talented DJ in the world from Mzansi.
He really does....even the fact that Coffee agreed to this interview was probably because it was Steven. He doesn't open up much
You good at interviewing. You dont just ask questions, you ask the right questions the right way. Big ups.
"Less is more." "We do what we comfortable with then we improve".
Apart from being a big fan of Steven and a proud subscriber of this podcast, I am also a very proud South African and this is for me the first time I feel like I'm getting to know Black Coffee the human being.
🙌🏾
I agree with Nolusizo 100%
I love how "himself" he is. Seems very grounded and has a good understanding of himself and what kind of life he wants.
I had no idea about his arm. He is truly phenomenal
Proudly South African 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 Thank you Steve 👏👏👏
I thought I was the only South African watching this channel kanti you are all here...
So do I, Thabo! Sisonke dance 💃 💃
The profundity of it all is what kept me listening. I'm new to the channel and I cannot wait to explore. You just gained yourself a follower Steve.
I have played a lot of sets with this brother and had a lot of chat. His focus, work ethic and humbleness are unmatched.
I can relate so much with Coffee, growing up I had a very strict household and grew up with a nanny who worked us, do our own chores, look after the farm, maintain the house. No silver spooning. What a blessing, cause it made me confident in myself, my decisions and my work ethic.
Huge fan of this man and his music, saw him live in London a couple months back. Great to hear him speak.
One of the greatest. . . Proudly South African!!
I love love love this amazing artist,What wonderful vulnerability from a beautiful soul who is an absolute GENIUS!Steven you are brilliant!I've stopped watching TV because this stuff your producing is SOOOOO healing for so many!Thankyou so Greatful for your work...❤🙇🏼♀️

Truly an amazing inspiration and he always knows how to create an amazing energy and vibe. What a gifted person. To be honest, I've seen tones of sets of Black Coffee, but I never noticed his arm. I was in absolute gaze of the energy and the crowd control.
Same! I had no idea about his arm.
I love his choice of music. It speaks to my soul. Thank you for interviewing him. It's nice to get to know him better.
I thought I would have to go to Ibiza to see him but he came to Atlanta GA in Oct 2023 and I was there. I was soooo happy. Im a big fan of Black Coffee from Charlotte NC.
Time travel or typo?🤔
It’s nothing wrong to milk cows!
I’m a DJ, with a broken left hand. No ligaments, so pretty much I went thru the same feelings, questions 😂
I hate rotary mixers. But we mix from the heart and not with hands. It’s the selection, the music! People like you for your music and you are awesome! Thank you for doing this, for me one of the best interviews I’ve seen here in CZcams! Your struggles are helping me to continue with my life…

This is the interview that I finally heard him speak of his personal life including the tragic injury. I appreciate him even more now as an artist. Looking forward to catch him play a set live somewhere.
I've seen a couple of various podcast interviews from this channel through algorithm, but only now I've subscribed thanks to seeing an interview with my beloved South African deejay 🖤💛💚❤️💙🇿🇦
Truly inspirational! Might be my favourite conversation so far.
