I have to believe that some of these kids are still in therapy because of this show, no way some of them didn't leave this place mentally scared for life. Jimmy for sure

btw, Jimmy (in the present, now an adult) got interviewed by Jontron in a video. He wasn't mentally scarred but he did say it was not an pleasant experience

The Brits had Boys Alone and Girls Alone, and I can tell you, this is a show that will succeed in making you pissed off at the creators.
It's basically what happens if Kid Nation had ZERO supervision, separate them by gender, and isolate them into their own houses for days or weeks.....then watch each group of literal children slowly break down mentally and emotionally over the course of their stay.

As somebody who lives in a desert I feel the need to mention the fact that people wear jackets year round, especially if they work outside. Jackets are imperative in preventing skin damage from the sun

This show seems like something I would have totally thought was cool and would've wanted to do when I was a kid. But as an adult... wow. What a HORRIBLE IDEA!
One would look at the British version, which is arguably 5000x worse (and caused major, if not, severe mental and emotional trauma to the children involved...and they did it TWICE or THRICE), and think, "Hey, wouldn't it be fucking stupid if Americans decided to adapt this horrendous idea and display it on national TV?"
Lo and behold, they did it anyway....and got rightfully sued to oblivion after the first season aired.

I never watched the show on account of focusing on elementary . . . but I feel like Jon hits the bullseye with the whole “French Revolution” jokes . . .
I think all the weeks "choices" were between something a kid would like and something they should have gotten from the start, like outhouses, or a water pump that doesn't freeze every morning, and that week they *lost* , so they didn't get it.
