I dont understand how he can be so creative to use so many tools to create one result. Ahh i have so much respect for people like this!
Kevor Studios
Because he's secretly a god! Lol
Its awesome that you began to make regular tuts. Keep going!
Great tutorial. I've been wanting to add more organic effects to my AE jobs, and I can see fractal noise is going to be a big player. Thanks for the insight. Love the quality of your work, your tutorials, and your humor. Best AE series on CZcams!
What a great tutorial! And great humor within the first minute in typical Andrew Kramer style
You've done it again Andrew...beautiful work!
Just awesome and amazing how quickly you put it all together. Thanks for posting.
This is truly awesome! Thanks for the hard work and the willingness of sharing your knowledge and experience.
Everything Video Copilot puts out is beautiful. You guys rock. You rock, Andrew Kramer.
You're the best Andrew! Thank you for your FANTASTIC tutorials!
Great tutorial! Also, even before you gave the shout out to Ryan, I started singing the Turbulent Displace song XD
I know how you feel :D
TURBULENT DISP:ACEMENT! TURBULENT DISPLACEMENT! :D
the most importent and crazy thing is, that it's without any 3rd party plugins,
I mean this just shows that after effects has far more possibilities than we ever have thought and Andrew just shows one of the crazy things you can do with after effects for free! thats freaking amazing and I thank you so much
Thanks, this is really cool. Grid is fantastic as well, I hope to see more new tutorials!
Andrew, you are good at what you do - amazing designs.
helped me so much, was stuck on after effects trying to make a sun and this was my savour
Awesome stuff Andrew! Testing this out first thing tomorrow at the office :) Thanks for great inspiration and tips!
"We get the knowledge,...they get skin cancer"lolol I immediately thumbs up'ed and sub'd \m/
did exactly the same! lol
my god that cracks me up.
you are always so much resourceful Andrew, thank you so much for the video.
It was about time you made a new sound pack, thanks!
haha yes! this is the most sun i gotten in weeks! Great tutorial btw, looking forward to more of your tutorials.
After the Turbulent Displace on the Sun Comp, while he talked about his Heat Plugin, I added this which looked somewhat similar. -->
1. New Solid (white), pre-compose (named Steam), leave this comp above Sun.
2. Open new comp, Fractal Noise on the white solid.
3. Fractal Settings - Small Bumps, check 'Invert', contrast = 130, brightness = 1, evolve 'time*200' and animate sub offset upwards as Andrew did earlier.
4. Back in main comp, create new Adjustment layer and put it below Steam comp (but above Sun Comp), set TrkMat to " Luma Inverted Matte "Steam"".
5. Effects> Fastblur 120 on Adjustment layer.
This added a bit of a Steamy surface/heatblur effect, looks great on mine.
Great tutorial. Thank You so much for Your work!
Awesome tutorial as always Andrew :)
AAAAHHHH! THIS WAS AWESOME! I'M SO THANKFUL! Thanks!
Love watching his tutorials. This guy is a freaking motion graphics genius.
I'm addicted to your channel man.
Learned so much! Thank you Andrew!
It's our plugin, we're going to plug it. :D
Excellent tutorial as always!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks so much guys!
That was an awesome tutorial. Avery time I get my hands on something like this I can't understand how do these cool tutors figure these things out... Thank you.
wooh that was hard but crazy cool effect! thank u!
For those who get an Error while copy and pasting the expressions ... try to write the first expression down but don't copy and paste it... then when you wrote down the first expression .. you can copy this one and paste it at Y and Z. This helped me :)
I hope you could understand me ^^"
I like Tutorials w/o other plugins .. keep doing this! :)
I was having trouble with the glow placement. I managed to get the glow behind the sun to work but then the one in front would still stay behind. I decided to start over and since Im using this for a "whole sun" (not just the top half) I didnt "zoom in" with the camera. I dunno how you pulled the sun down when you zoomed in but that seems to be the issue. I know you right click to zoom in, but when you pulled the image down it appears after effects acts a little funny with the extra glows.
Try seeing if your layers are in the proper order, specifically, where is the Adjustment Layer? I'm a noob at After Effects as well, but try to see if that works because it works in Photoshop.
I just started this tutorial and Im having the exact same problem. Its like it disappears when its at different angles. Fuck you after effects!
I had the same exact problem. What i did is created a new layer called inner glow like the other glows and did the same exact process but this time on top of the star map layer...
Hey, i was having same problem here today, i place the duplicated nº3 glow on top of star map but nothing happened... still looking like it was in the botton with the others, what i did was, i turn the 3d layer option off than on again and it worked, it show up just like in the video, i had to reposition a bit, but it worked. i hope it works for you.
The glow part was a game finisher for me....
thank you so much for this tutorial its helping me learn after effects and really get the the knowledge of the effects
Every time I set out to create a cool effect, I do search and low and behold, Mr. Kramer has already done it. And better. Arrgggh!
Alright, bud. I'm sold. I'll learn freakin after effects now. This info is too good to pass up.
very cool tut, THANKS!!
U r always awesome ! :) :D
So cool !!!!!!!I'll try this effect in one of my videos. Thank you
Love your work. Exellent tutorial
Seriously awesome tutorial! Thank you!
with every tutorial you show possibilities of AE become more and more wide...
thanks.
VitaminD ;)
To get some cool flares, incorporate the 3D light rays tutorial with a null in the centre of the sun and a radial blur coming from it, and drop a curves adjustment on it with heavy contrast so the rays only emit from the really bright areas.
dang thats a damn fine idea there
Amazing tutorial mate, great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9:49 Inadvertent Cylon Base Star reference. Great vid. Very helpful.
Good stuff! Thanks for posting.
For those who have an issue with the rotation expressions, there is supposed to be a space between value+lookAt and (thisComp...
This fixed it for me and i didn't get anymore syntax errors
I like the torch layer!!
We need more tutorials from you!!!!!!!!!!!!
This tutorial is really great! !! I made something like a scene from a movie.
とても感謝しています!!Thanks!!
Anyone who has problems getting the glow layer under the Star map, lock the Glow layer and move the star map on the z-axis towards you (click and hold on the blue dot of the 3d axis in the center of the star map an drag it to the right)
+Hadeseffect Thank you LOL, that was really frustrating.
THX MATE!
Nope, that didnt work for me :(
Just figured that out by looking at the top view now after being frustrated for a while, but now the star layer appears to have square edges like its not a screen layer. SO odd!! hopefully i'll figure it out. This tut goes way too fast and changes settings back and forth several times. arg. lol. But still thankful!
@@sean.sullivan got this problem now, did u figure it out?
This is art ! :)
It's magic! Great Talent! Compliments! :)
Here in Italy it's 2.10 a.m.
This is probably the best sun in a long time XD
value+lookAt(thisComp.activeCamera.toWorld([0,0,0]),position)[0]
After Effects warning: syntax error Exspression disabled.
Mi da errore! mi sai spiegare perchè? La mia versione di after effects è in inglese. grazie
value+lookAt(thisComp.activeCamera.toWorld([0,0,0]),position)[0]
tutto ok.. quando fai copia incolla appare un segno meno "toWor-ld" che scompare quando fai invio. per mi dava errore. devi cancellarlo prima di confermare.
dasciuri Thank you for this.
dasciuri
value + lookat (thisComp.activeCamera.toWorld ([0,0,0]), position) [0]
After Effects warning: syntax error Exspression disabled. how to fix it?
HDtutorials sei il migliore!

You get my sub! Haha Hilarious! I enjoy watching your Tutorials.
Thx For the Video as new to Ae this was easy to follow and learn alot.. will look to see what else i can create with this and see if i can merge a few things..
having an slight problem when I move the glow layer to go behind the star map layer it's not going behind it I did exactly like in the tutorial
"We get the knowledge "
Right !!
ur amazing, thanks for sharing with us :D
Think I'm going to give this a shot!
amazing tutorial!
Stoked to try this tonight.
Andrew would you consider doing a workflow tutorial? I feel like I'm not alone in being a noob who just compiles everything in After Effects and completely avoids Premiere. Which works alright I guess, but I can see how it is limiting.
Excellent!!
If you get an error with the expressions "value+lookAt(thisComp.activeCamera.toWorld([0,0,0]),position)[0]" After Effects auto changes toWorld to to-World. Just change it to toWorld and it will work.
Definitely I liked the tutorial! =)
The best looking sun I have ever seen...
Awesome bro.... Kramer President !!!!
ur best Andrew,ur Adobe's Superkid
Wow! Don't stare to long! That was awesome!
Quick question, what is a good work flow for editing? Would it be to trim the original clips in Premiere to the length you want, then to After Effects for special effects, then finish with sound and a final color grade in Premiere?
awesome tutorial
Tks! great tutorial
wonderfull tutorial
great tutorial guys
This tutorials effect was used in an episode of Voltron :P great tutorial as always ;)
great tutorial!!!
@Video Copilot
Thank you very much for your tutorial!! I was able to create a planet in Adobe After Effects!
I know that the quality isn't the best .. but for me as a beginner .. i'm happy with my result ^^
The king's After Effects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm with you...The night time is the right time.
Totally awesome!!
Great video!
Yes yes yeeeeeeeeees, universe and after fx r one, mr cramer u r awsome, just do more stuff about space....!
Can't wait to build this…..
For 2019 users, apply Fast Box blur instead of Radial Fast blur to ensure no clipping :)
Awesome !
Thank you
Would love a video combining the fractal noise with E3D obj. I watched the other Star Trek video but it's about a 3 second part about it.
wow , nice work
15:02 I was just doing the " TURBULENT DISPLACE " thingy and then you said " Shoutout to Ryan Connolly for making that a household name " I bursted in laughter.
Ty very much
Nice Tutorial and very helpful Thanks a lot
I would absolutely go to see Andrew Kramer do stand up. Hilarious and awesome! Hilariously awesome!
