Steely Dan - Green Earrings [BASS COVER] - with notation and tabs

Chuck Rainey got real "fingerstyle" on this one. It was the mid 70's - every bass player was probably listening to Tower of Power but Rainey really nailed that style here - I'm sure Rocco was proud! This was a hard one to play because of all the sixteenth note variations, but we got around 98% there. Enjoy!!
P.S. you can't really see it but my Blue Jays jersey has a red Kevin Pillar cape on the back. hehe!

It all comes down to understanding rhythms and what ghost notes you can get away with there’s a couple different ways you can play the different lines and movements

Thank you! Yep it was definitely a hard one. I grew up listening to a lot of Tower Of Power though - one of my favorite bands - so this style of bass playing (fingerstyle funk) is more in my comfort zone than some others.
