  • Ive always been a fan of leaving the Lure fishing equipment in the car and catching bass with live bait under a float. It takes me back to when I fished with my father when I was a young gun. Setting me up with a float and a strip of mackerel, for anything swimming around nearby.
    To me it was the best thing ever. And to be honest it still is... watching the float zip off or fall on its side and then scream off.
    Add 20 years on and I am still doing it! And here my favourite two methods for doing so.
    The prawn bubble float setup
    The Sandsmelt Groddos stick float setup
    Two I both use but in different circumstances and situations.
    A must have when targeting bass in the summer months!

    What you need for each setup:
    Bubble float setup: Bubble float x 1, 25lb leader (around a 1foot) small circle hook, couple of BB Shots.
    Stick float setup: Stick float (I use a 23g float) 2 x beads, small ball weigh (10g) 1x swivel, 1 x float stop, Small circle hook, again 1foot of 25lb leader.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Live bait I recommend: Depending on where you are fishing depends on the bait.
    In the harbours there usually full of Grodos (sand smelt) Juvenile Pollock, Pouting, small mullet
    Around reefs their are usually, Prawns, Crabs, sandeel and other small fishing like wrasse.
    Try and match what the fish are eating. If they are eating small fish, match the size.
    Ive always found that on some marks the bass do not like lures, they will take one here or there but their so fixed on small species and will only EAT THEM.
    * The perfect place for a live bait under a float!!!!!!*
    As always if you enjoyed the video please throw it a thumbs up!

    Great informative video. Nice Ariel videos inserts to go with your narration. You’ve made me want to give this a bash again one day. Used to use a self weighted float and 10 min hunting blennies

    Great informative video. Liked the drone view inserts to your narration and that was a boom bass. I wholly agree that seeing a float move unusually and or on its side or disappearing completely is just better than a rod tip bite. Must give this a bash again. Used to use self weighted float and fish blennies as they easy to collect. Probably not as successful as grasdos or prawn but if one’s in a rush.

      Glad you enjoyed it. I like making these kind of informative videos. But sometimes feel their boring. But if you like I will take that as a plus. Thanks for coming back and tuning in

    Hello Sir, I watch your videos and I learn a lot.
    I'm fishing with a sliding float and I wanted to ask you for a 20 g float, how much lead do you recommend and for a 10 g?
    Thank you and happy new year 2023.

    • @BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey
      @BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey  Před rokem +1

      Your using a 10g float? And what is on the business end? Are you fishing a live bait or a dead bait. Let me know

    • @gino55yo
      @gino55yo Před rokem +1

      No I am an individual.
      With dead bait such as squid strip or salt bait. Yes with a 10g or 20g. But I was always told 20g plug with 20g lead.
