Hey guys! My wife is a breast cancer survivor and I’m telling you that every time there a follow up check up we experience your same fears. As husbands we feel helpless cause we can only be there for you by being your shoulder to cry or your biggest cheerleader… today as other viewer said I’m a stranger that cried happy tears for you guys!!
I’m laying in the hospital, about to be rolled into surgery. As I’m waiting, I watched your video and it brought me so much happiness and perspective. I’m going to be ok. Instead of feeling sad or scared, I’m going to chose to be grateful that this technology exists and I can get help.
I am literally the last person who would normally say this out loud to someone because as someone with chronic health issues who doesn’t want to hear your opinion on what I’m not doing, positive thinking does help. Whether to quell the anxiety that is overloading you and you realize that worrying won’t change the outcome but there might be something to bringing good energy to your space or simply trying to trick your mind into positive thinking just so you don’t lose your mind. Try and remember that whatever news you got/get that you don’t know what will happen but stressing out all the time probably won’t help. This doesn’t work with pain relief in my humble opinion but it does help relax the anxiety which might be increasing the pain. Me just accepting my situation and not constantly worrying about the future has helped a lot with my suicidal thoughts because I realized I can’t do what I can’t do and I will take what happens in stride when it happens so just focus on recovering from the surgery and whatever news you get try to remember that there aren’t many positives to catastrophising. Even if you don’t get great news just try and focus on recovering from the surgery and once you do then allow yourself to think about it. Otherwise it will feel crushing to deal with as you are recovering. Hope things go well!
Having a mom that survived breast cancer and that has been cancer free for 20 years now, it fills me with joy to hear the good news, Bec. What a massive weight off your shoulders. Now, time to relax and enjoy summer! 💜💜

I just cried 20 minutes of HAPPY tears for Bec. Your biopsy report brought back all the emotions I felt the day my sister was given the “your cancer-free” report 23 years ago. My sister had Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 2B and had been through radiation, chemo, more chemo, and lastly a Stem Cell transplant. During the Stem Cell transplant, my sister and brother-in-law lived with us for 4 months. We laughed a lot, sometimes we cried, some nights we didn't sleep, we watched old movies, I held her hair when she was🤢, we read Harry Potter Books, and most importantly we treasured every moment together. We continue to treasure our moments and never forget how blessed we are. I'm so happy for you. Be well, be calm, and always remember to laugh loud and often.
Eamon, every time we are doing ANY kind of home project I secretly wish you were here to help us. Your ability to just go for it and cut that hole in the ceiling/floor and make it work is so inspiring. We would have ended up with a hole.... and then a fixed hole.... and another hole trying to fix the first hole. It would be a mess. We all need an Eamon!! And Bec, I also cried when you got your wonderful news. I am still waiting and praying for a phone call like that, but for my husband. He has been fighting bladder cancer for over 2 years now. His last round of chemo has destroyed his fine and gross motor skills and he can barely walk and I am having to help feed him. They are doing more scans in a couple of weeks because the last scans didn't show any cancer, but of course they aren't 100% sure that the cancer is gone yet. For now, we work on physical and occupational therapy, try to find humor in every day life and keep being supportive. And we dream....dream of the day we hopefully get our good news. I am so happy and excited for you and your future. You give me hope!!
What an emotional journey this video took! It's so weird watching you all for years as a (much smaller) CZcamsr myself and seeing the love. When my fiance passed away, it was actually my YT family who was the most supportive. My father passed in 2017 due to brain cancer - and while that and my fiances loss were indescribable - I feel like I know you guys and are family, just as my followers were for me during that time. So happy you're healthy Bec and thank you for letting us be a part of this. I know from my loss, how helpless our subscribers - who are people we've never met - feel watching us go through hardships. Learning of your diagnosis was odly personal and hard for me. I'm so grateful to see you healthy and keeping us in the loop. I wish my father and fiance were still here, but my recent friendships and adventures would never have happen without those loses.
The room is great, and I loved the remodel. Eamon is such a showman. He makes everything he does so entertaining! However, Bec's health news was truly spectacular! It was the real star of the show. I'm so happy for you both! Hope poor Oso is healed from his wildlife encounter.

Eamon, I doubt you'll ever see this with as many comments as you must get every video, but I wanted to tell you a secret about porcupine quills. If you pull them IMMEDIATELY, they come out with your fingers! I learned this the hard way after my dog got quilled (for the second time) and we were on a hike hours away from any vet. It was all I could think to do, so I tried it, and they came right out! It took probably 20 minutes to get around 150 quills out of his chest, legs, and just a few in his face. But it seems the barbs swell from contact with blood in the skin and that is why they are so hard to pull later. If you can get to them right away they come out so easy! He was sore from being quilled, and a few were harder to get out, but they did all come out with just my fingers. Bec, I teared up right with you when you got the good news. So happy for you both!!
I am so happy to hear your 'no cancer' update. I've been following your channel for a while now - I've been diagnosed with breast cancer 7 months ago and had my check up this week. I can totally empathise with your fear and the relief and the rollercoaster of all the emotions. Thank you for sharing your story and these updates. I am literally so relieved for you :-)
If you have kids you can put a rock climbing wall under the trap door, crash pad undernieth, hours of entertainment on rainy days. Our toddler loves his indoor rock wall, congrats on the cancer free diagnosis!

I was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer in September 2021. After treatment ended I started seeing a survivorship therapist. It is the best decision I ever made. She has training in my disease and has helped me grapple with the "what's next" in life. I highly recommend seeing one.

Our motto in home reno has been "cry once". When your 9 year old house has siding that's leaking, you could just staple it back on, you could just see if the house wrap is dry, you could pretend everything is probably fine, OR you could cry once, pay to have the whole side of your house taken off and make sure it's done right. You could go with the cheaper floor to just get it done, but you know it won't last 10 years of dog claws, cry once and get the more durable floor. You could put on the patio like you originally planned and build a deck later, or cry once and build the dang deck now. Cry once, do it right the first time.
Bec, it is so nice to see someone openly discuss anxiety. I have struggled for years and can be super hard on myself. I often can struggle even taking a deep breath. Its so refreshing to see how you take charge of your anxiety. I am currently a behavioral therapist and work with kids on the autism spectrum. At some point I am going to apply to graduate school to become a therapist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety! With love from Seattle!

Bec it is ok to be down and to worry about your health and the outcome. I feel like in todays world everyone focuses on being positive which is wonderful but sometimes life has bumps and we worry and that’s ok so long as we don’t live in a negative space for too long. Prayers for you! Xoxo
Oh, Bec. I’m sorry you went through all that. One of the “bad” things about surviving cancer is that doctors will treat you with an abundance of caution going forward. I used to feel like if I went in with a sprained ankle, I’d end up having a biopsy and two kinds of scans. And the worst part is waiting for answers. When you get all the way through all the treatments for cancer, there’s kind of an expectation that “OK, now I’m done,” but with cancer, it’s never completely over. And honestly, it’s not a terrible thing that doctors will be super cautious. I don’t know if it’s possible to be prepared but maybe try to adjust your expectations and just know that your doctors will be watching closely and testing literally everything. The good news is that anything they find is being found really early. Hang in there!
Having gone through BC myself a couple years ago I felt sick since your last video knowing the feeling of what you are going through. I am so glad to watch this today and relieved for you that everything is fine!!🇨🇦

Wow. This video was EXACTLY what I needed to see this morning. Health update on Bec (I was trying to fix breakfast - baked oatmeal - and crying for joy all over the mixing bowl 😂), a funtastic reno project, surprise cameo appeances from friends, AND a trip down memory lane with Oso's porcupine encounter & trip to vet. Our late, lifetime pet, gone since 2020, tangled with a porky when she was 2 yrs old and almost didn't survive. Over 2000 quills and a terrifying long night of travel, surgery, and recovery later... something I never want to do again!! I'm thrilled for Bec, so proud of Eamon for a great build, and glad that Oso didn't suffer too much in his dog vs. Porky match. Maybe just his pride. 😅
You guys are amazing! As many fellow random followers have said, we were all waiting with anxious anticipation and well wishes for Becs health! As a fellow cancer survivor, it's always a fear in the back of your mind! ❤❤❤ Keep doing what you're doing!

This doesn’t work with pain relief in my humble opinion but it does help relax the anxiety which might be increasing the pain. Me just accepting my situation and not constantly worrying about the future has helped a lot with my suicidal thoughts because I realized I can’t do what I can’t do and I will take what happens in stride when it happens so just focus on recovering from the surgery and whatever news you get try to remember that there aren’t many positives to catastrophising. Even if you don’t get great news just try and focus on recovering from the surgery and once you do then allow yourself to think about it. Otherwise it will feel crushing to deal with as you are recovering. Hope things go well!

I just cried 20 minutes of HAPPY tears for Bec. Your biopsy report brought back all the emotions I felt the day my sister was given the “your cancer-free” report 23 years ago. My sister had Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 2B and had been through radiation, chemo, more chemo, and lastly a Stem Cell transplant. During the Stem Cell transplant, my sister and brother-in-law lived with us for 4 months. We laughed a lot, sometimes we cried, some nights we didn't sleep, we watched old movies, I held her hair when she was🤢, we read Harry Potter Books, and most importantly we treasured every moment together. We continue to treasure our moments and never forget how blessed we are. I'm so happy for you. Be well, be calm, and always remember to laugh loud and often.
Eamon, every time we are doing ANY kind of home project I secretly wish you were here to help us. Your ability to just go for it and cut that hole in the ceiling/floor and make it work is so inspiring. We would have ended up with a hole.... and then a fixed hole.... and another hole trying to fix the first hole. It would be a mess. We all need an Eamon!! And Bec, I also cried when you got your wonderful news. I am still waiting and praying for a phone call like that, but for my husband. He has been fighting bladder cancer for over 2 years now. His last round of chemo has destroyed his fine and gross motor skills and he can barely walk and I am having to help feed him. They are doing more scans in a couple of weeks because the last scans didn't show any cancer, but of course they aren't 100% sure that the cancer is gone yet. For now, we work on physical and occupational therapy, try to find humor in every day life and keep being supportive. And we dream....dream of the day we hopefully get our good news. I am so happy and excited for you and your future. You give me hope!!

It's so weird watching you all for years as a (much smaller) CZcamsr myself and seeing the love. When my fiance passed away, it was actually my YT family who was the most supportive. My father passed in 2017 due to brain cancer - and while that and my fiances loss were indescribable - I feel like I know you guys and are family, just as my followers were for me during that time. So happy you're healthy Bec and thank you for letting us be a part of this. I know from my loss, how helpless our subscribers - who are people we've never met - feel watching us go through hardships. Learning of your diagnosis was odly personal and hard for me. I'm so grateful to see you healthy and keeping us in the loop. I wish my father and fiance were still here, but my recent friendships and adventures would never have happen without those loses.

Eamon, I doubt you'll ever see this with as many comments as you must get every video, but I wanted to tell you a secret about porcupine quills. If you pull them IMMEDIATELY, they come out with your fingers! I learned this the hard way after my dog got quilled (for the second time) and we were on a hike hours away from any vet. It was all I could think to do, so I tried it, and they came right out! It took probably 20 minutes to get around 150 quills out of his chest, legs, and just a few in his face. But it seems the barbs swell from contact with blood in the skin and that is why they are so hard to pull later. If you can get to them right away they come out so easy! He was sore from being quilled, and a few were harder to get out, but they did all come out with just my fingers.

I was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer in September 2021. After treatment ended I started seeing a survivorship therapist. It is the best decision I ever made. She has training in my disease and has helped me grapple with the "what's next" in life. I highly recommend seeing one.

Our motto in home reno has been "cry once". When your 9 year old house has siding that's leaking, you could just staple it back on, you could just see if the house wrap is dry, you could pretend everything is probably fine, OR you could cry once, pay to have the whole side of your house taken off and make sure it's done right. You could go with the cheaper floor to just get it done, but you know it won't last 10 years of dog claws, cry once and get the more durable floor. You could put on the patio like you originally planned and build a deck later, or cry once and build the dang deck now.
Cry once, do it right the first time.
Bec, it is so nice to see someone openly discuss anxiety. I have struggled for years and can be super hard on myself. I often can struggle even taking a deep breath. Its so refreshing to see how you take charge of your anxiety. I am currently a behavioral therapist and work with kids on the autism spectrum. At some point I am going to apply to graduate school to become a therapist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety! With love from Seattle!

Oh, Bec. I’m sorry you went through all that. One of the “bad” things about surviving cancer is that doctors will treat you with an abundance of caution going forward. I used to feel like if I went in with a sprained ankle, I’d end up having a biopsy and two kinds of scans. And the worst part is waiting for answers. When you get all the way through all the treatments for cancer, there’s kind of an expectation that “OK, now I’m done,” but with cancer, it’s never completely over. And honestly, it’s not a terrible thing that doctors will be super cautious. I don’t know if it’s possible to be prepared but maybe try to adjust your expectations and just know that your doctors will be watching closely and testing literally everything. The good news is that anything they find is being found really early. Hang in there!

Wow. This video was EXACTLY what I needed to see this morning. Health update on Bec (I was trying to fix breakfast - baked oatmeal - and crying for joy all over the mixing bowl 😂), a funtastic reno project, surprise cameo appeances from friends, AND a trip down memory lane with Oso's porcupine encounter & trip to vet. Our late, lifetime pet, gone since 2020, tangled with a porky when she was 2 yrs old and almost didn't survive. Over 2000 quills and a terrifying long night of travel, surgery, and recovery later... something I never want to do again!! I'm thrilled for Bec, so proud of Eamon for a great build, and glad that Oso didn't suffer too much in his dog vs. Porky match. Maybe just his pride. 😅
