    Yaroslav Vladimirovich Askarov (Russian: Ярослав Владимирович Аскаров; born 16 June 2002) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was selected eleventh overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, where he was considered as the top ranked goaltender.
    Playing career
    Askarov played as a youth with Buldogi St. Petersburg at the under-16 level in 2017 before joining powerhouse club, SKA Saint Petersburg, to continue his development.
    During the 2019-20 season, on 27 November 2019, Askarov made his KHL debut at the age of 17. He collected his first win, allowing two goals in a victory over HC Sochi.

    Воспитанник омского «Авангарда». В 11 лет переехал в Санкт-Петербург[1], в 2015-2018 годах играл за юношескую команду «Бульдоги». В сезоне 2018/19 играл в команде МХЛ «СКА-Варяги». В сезоне 2019/20 - игрок команды ВХЛ «СКА-Нева». 27 ноября 2019 года дебютировал в КХЛ в составе СКА, в домашнем матче против «Сочи» (4:2) отразив 23 броска из 25.
    Бронзовый призёр Кубка Глинки / Гретцки (2018), победитель и лучший вратарь турнира (2019).
    Серебряный призёр юниорского чемпионата мира 2019.
    Серебряный призёр молодёжного чемпионата мира 2020.

    Очень одаренный, ловкий праворукий вратарь. Хладнокровный с хорошим катанием и высоким хоккейным IQ. Обладает размером и при этом молниеносной реакцией. Потенциальный обладатель Везина трофи.

    I know it’s the right handed mitt but he really does look like Rick Dipietro in net

      I disargee. He
      looks similar to Dipietro only because he is right handed. If we talk about the way he plays his style thats combination of Price and Vasilevskiy thats my opinion

      @@WolfHockey Vasilevskiy maybe, he seems to play his angels really well and stays strong in his net, if you ask me he looks more polished already than Price did when he was younger.

      @ I agree, the game has advanced so much in the last 20 years, sports physiologists, trainers galore, the tools available for top prospects to reach their potential is insane now. Think about how much is invested by a team to develop their prospects, only to see a portion of them actually make it.
      One example would be someone like Garret Sparks, 7th round pick, Calder cup champion only to be cast off and maybe never see the NHL again
