- This is a story of a family’s heir, carrying hope of family on the shoulders. His life has already been designed and there are rules to follow. He can’t do what he wants and he can’t love who he wants either.
Tian and Yang are sons of Song Family, a member of Five Dragons Group. Tian is a son of Li, the first wife. And Yang is a son of Chan, a second wife. Tian was born first so he is appointed to be the heir of the family.
Tian is a polite and gentle boy. He likes to study, paint and watch Chinese opera. On the other hand, Yang is a playful boy. The outsiders see Yang as good-for-nothing type of person. In fact, Yang has no interest to compete with his brother because Tian saved his life in the past. In return, Yang promises Tian that he will take his brother to see every Chinese opera that he wants to.
There is a secret behind a perfect life of an heir. The only persons know about this secret are Li and Jia, a servant who see Tian wraps his head with a scarf and sings, pretending to be Chinese opera performers. Li can’t take it so Tian is asked to stop this behavior and she has to cover up his secret.
20 years has passed, Tian is working for his family business while Yang is still playing around. Yang still keeps his promise to take Tian to see Chinese operas constantly. One day, Tian meets Jiu, a fondant seller, that he likes.
Li still has a hope that Tian will become a straight man. But Tian has no interest in women. People seem to be curious about this and Li needs to stop people’s curiosity. She tries to find a fiancée for him and speed up the marriage. Yang knows the truth and he feels sorry for his brother. He helps his brother to delay the wedding date as much as possible. In the meantime, relationship of Tian and Jiu starts to grow strongly.
No matter how hard Li tries to cover up Tian’s secret, the head of Song Family eventually knows about this. He wants Tian to be the heir of the family and maintain family’s name. He doesn’t want his sons to suffer so he asks Tian to hand over everything to Yang. Tian feels such a big relief and he agrees on this. But Li disapproves this plan. Before the announcement, Li poisons the head of Song Family until he is paralyzed, and Tian continues to be the one and only heir. Chan knows about this so Li murders her and bury Chan’s body under the ground.
Tian can’t escape from this loop. Will he eventually get out of this loop?
Li and Chan teaming up is the best thing ever. They would have destroyed the entire world if they were the same team from the beginning. 12:00 was the best scene ever.
The plot is not Tian's secret, the plot is Madam Li. She had been the main anchor point that drives the entire series. I was impressed of her ways, the way she mixed poison with antidote and even took that herself to make Ma believe her.
This series stands out in every aspect. It is not a typical BL drama. It has every genre - family drama, greed, power, betrayal, secrecy, woman empowerment, and so much more. A proper BL with a very serious topic...and they have delivered the message right. They showed that all human beings deserve respect and love, and no matter how much we try to hide the truth, it will be revealed someday. This is how a series should be done. The cast, the Chinese aesthetics and vibes, the music especially Nunew's OST, the cinematography, the writing, the plot, the pacing - everything was so perfect and I don't have words to express how beautiful everything was. Most importantly, unlike other BL dramas where the importance is the BL pairs and have few or no female support roles, I love how the entire Song family is the main cast. In a world where the main BL plots are around school-life, university-life, office setting and mafia, its so refreshing to see a BL set in an historical background. And this was women-centered...which is what makes it more unique.
Li's last moments made me cry a river. I hoped that she would survive...I am sure Jia would be taking care of her. And Chan protecting Tian as promised...and everyone being happy and at peace. Not to mention the sky analogy spoken by Tian....Y'ALL DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS SERIES!
Wish we had funeral of Nuan...after all even Dong was planned to have one.
Thank you each and everyone who brought this masterpiece to life. If ever someone asked me to recommend a good BL as a newbie or if I meet homophobic people trying to slander love of any form, I will tell them to watch this series. I am sure they perspective towards the LGBTQIA+ community would change and that they will support them one day...and as Tian said all love forms will be equal and everyone will be respected.

The One Bl which has Female cast as the base of their story. When 1000 stars came, it was different from those previous bls. Likewise, this story is very different and unique. I will give this series 100/10. The plot, the confidence of the Mother who can do literally anything to protect her son people's discrimination, the understanding of the family at last is very appreciative. ❤
The name 'Tian' has some magic in it coz any actor who plays the role becomes super duper 'CUTE' n 100/10 for innocence ❤❤❤❤
I always postponed my idea of watching this drama bcoz of excessive dramatic plot but when I finally watched it, to my surprise this drama is a masterpiece. Kudos to Tian, Yang and Jiu. Also i want to mention that I came back to watch this drama bcoz of their chemistry in laws of attraction.

You just safe me from typing this again. I've been seeing this series before but because of excessive dramatic plot, I couldn't bring myself to watch it. But after watching laws of attraction and seeing someone typing that they are the leads in this series, I came back to watch and I'm not disappointed. I love it an the characters are well executed.

You can never hate it if you watch it completely....this has everything in it I really adore yang's love for tian he is someone who can go against anybody to protect tian...and the storyline is epic .you'll not blink for a second and still you didn't feel bored ..it manages to hold the story and the love interaction between jiu and tian...I'm in love with tian for how good he is

This drama has immediately shot up to number 1 on my list of bls I've ever watched! The acting, plotline, and character development is what I loved the most. It took me about 4 days to watch all 17 episodes and I'm so sad it's over now 😭

It's very rare to have produce series like this which make you go through a roller coaster of emotions. One thing I learned is that no character except Ma was really a villain. Everyone had their reasons besides that bastard. I cried so hard for Madam Li but i am happy to see Tian and Jiu getting a happy ending. His family supporting him and also proud of him. I am happy that Tian's father made him the leader despite his sexuality.
I truly loved the dynamics between yang and tian. Their brotherhood was so strong and i loved that the directors didn't make their relationship bad and kept it the same. That was another reason for me to love the series.
Tian hoping for a better world made me cry. My baby suffered so much but atleast Jiu always loved him. I am truly impressed by this series. Came here after watching Laws of Attraction and loved this series more than the other. This series will stay in my memory for a long time. I hope JamFilm can do more series together in the future. They have magical chemistry ❤❤❤❤❤

I really appreciate the character writing of female characters, yes they are evil but very brave and intelligent 😅. And it's first drama I've watched where ml doesn't get more screentime. I love it that makers doesn't just fit random scenes to feed audience and stucked to the original plot line . Overall nice drama.
Anyone who thinks this would not live up to their B.L. series standards is sorely missing out! Also if you're tired of the same old plots rehashed, you are REALLY missing out! This series has been beyond fantastic, totally blowing away my expectations!

This is one of my favorite Bl series so far. The acting is incredible, the plot s something different, and one can really understand a lot of the struggles, pain, and happiness the characters are feeling. The chemistry between Jiu and Tian is fabulous and I adore the brotherly love between Yang and Tian, their chemistry is over the roof. I love that the characters are multidimensional, no one besides Mr. Ma is truly evil, they are just human, acting on their safety instincts. A Bl Drama with lovable characters, amazing chemistry, an interesting plotline, happy ending....what could be better?? Its a must watch.
I've never seen a ml who deserves a happy ending more than Tian, the guy is probably the best character in a drama that I've ever seen. I think that's why this show is such a hit. I mean aside from the top notch acting from all the cast and that amazing and well balanced writing, they've created a Main lead that's worth rooting for. He's utterly kind but he's no pushover, you can see that even though he's beaten down over and over, the fight has never left him, he decided to hide his true identity out of his respect for his mother but he was determined that he's not going to hide it forever, he never gave up hope that someday he's going to be happy and free. Besides, Jiu definitely made him work for it. lol. If that doesn't earn him the right for a happy ending well I don't know what does. As for Jiu, Ihate hate hate hard to get kind of characcters but I've decided that Jiu is an exemption because in this love story I actually love the chase. But just Jiu though. He's the only hard to get kind of character I'm willing to embrace with my whole heart,
I want a second season with Tian's struggles with bring the leader of the family and business, having Jiu as his partner, by his side and being helped by his father, Chan, Yang, Bua, Pin and so on. I'm sure it can be really exciting, and I would love to see him shelter and knowing other gay people like him. It would be so amazing!
Sounds like a great idea. It would be a slightly different genre I think, less mommy fight drama 🙂 But honestly the drama of the mothers was sometimes a bit much for me. So I'm all for your idea.
Your idea would be very plausible as Tian had said he wanted to strive for a world where people are equal.
Tian talking kindly to people, trying to convince them of their own worth.
I can immediately see Yang and Pin help out Jiu with the slightly shady parts of the sheltering /helping people.
And Bua would be the kindest aunty to everyone.
Maybe some pushback from the father and Chan who are worried it is going to backfire.
Maybe Chan and or Bua being slightly uncomfortable around a sheltered lesbian in the beginning but later on becoming good friends with her.

It's been 1 week since I watched this masterpiece. I badly want to say that for me, this drama isn't just a bl. It shows us different kinds of feelings, bonds, etc. I'm glad that I found this even though it's almost been a year since it aired. Every character is perfect. This drama will be one of my favourites. Thank you everyone for your hard work.

Hands Down the best BL or even the BEST THAI DRAMA! It showed Love between men on a different level, brother's love was something that I can't even explain how amazing it was... It even showed women power ... And none of the character was 'over'. And a male lead i really wanted to see happy not a single time felt bored of him that's the charisma he held... The power the drama holds is AMAZING ❤❤❤

I can't believe I'm saying this ..but I love this drama .... I love every character even the ones that got on my nerves through out the series. It's beautiful how the writers managed to show character development in all them and how each of them redeemed themselves in the end. Such a beautiful watch😊
I came to know about this series after I watched Laws of attraction. And boy m I glad that I did ... This series is a masterpiece from all perspectives. This is not your usual BL story but something new different. It focus on so many different aspects. None of the characters felt like they were overshadowed.
I just simply loved this one. I don't know why it's a bit underrated.
I hope more and more people will get to know about this series and enjoy this masterpiece. Trust me whoever experience this series will never regret it.

The biggest success of this excellent drama " คุณชาย " is that none of the characters in the drama is superfluous (not necessary).
Speaking personally , this drama is more educational than other ones I've watched before. Whether it is about the parents’ love to their children , the love between brothers and the love between husband & wife (wives actually...😛😛😛😛😛).
"Love" can really make people stay strong even they're in the most painful situation or when they feel confused with their lives.
Just like the rainbow 🌈 that appeared in the last scene , which is also my favourite part , in " คุณชาย " .

some dramas comes to you in unexpectedly and steals your heart and this was definitely the one. Each actors filled the life into the characters. Initially i didn't thought i would like this drama but i loved this drama and i love JiuTian, YangPing also my special fav madam cha(even though that character is annoying but i loved the loud expresions im gonna miss sassy cha) .

First I would like to say Thank You for the translations. Overall I liked the drama because it was a mature theme. This was MY first time seeing a period piece relating to BL dramas and it kept me hooked. Hope to see more of this type.
Tian and Jiu's story and also everyone's stories in this lakorn will live forever in my heart.
Tian and Jiu gave me the strength to live my own life regardless what other people will think about me, and they also gave me hope in the better future enviosioned by Tian that, sadly, still is distant for most of us around the world.
I hope 'To Sir, With Love' is having the recognition it deserves and that it helps other people as it had helped me along these 17 episodes of this amazing story.

Where was this series all this time ? Omg what a series I enjoyed all the episodes it was mind blowing we have bl story , male lead and female lead love story, mother sentiment , brothers love , family love , villain story and more characters were involved, action, dramatic , love , mystery and suspense on top of that beautiful ending and I like the themes of old style the building roads and dressing style was like mid 80’s I guess not sure but it was like ancient drama I really enjoyed this thanks to the law of attraction I got to know this series I enjoyed the acting of all the members and lead actors were good they had great chemistry and tian has huge character difference in law of attraction 😂 opposite acting but any way all the best to the team in the bl world this drama is the best I hope other dramas can capture different themes like this rather than normal college love story we need different stories as they do for boy girl love story anyway all the best to the team well done great script and acting and execution of series even the songs
This is THE BEST THAI BL series that I watched, can’t stop my tears falling from their acting and to their dialogs and good story and most of all from their acting, all Actors were fit frol their roles from Nuan to Mr. Song. Cudos to Madam Li, Chan, Tian and Yang. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Madam Li’s character might look like a villain buy with her facial expression tells you thay she was just forced to do things to protect Tian not just for the position but to protect him from having the same fate with Zhang. WHAT A SERIES!!! Li and Jia the main characters of the show, literally cried for almost half hour at the death of Li. Love every character, phenomenal acting, amazing storyline, no over skinship, a complete package full of thriller, plot& twists, romance and emotions. A story that depicts reality of life. Hates off👏👏.
A really UNDERRATED SERIES. DESERVE MUCH MORE RECOGNITION.
All the rainbows that come after the rain and all the hats down please for this spectacularly put together series. The acting was top-notch and the music is gonna be on repeat for some time after finishing this last episode, the storyline and the argument were very convincing. Oh how I'm gonna miss them all. May all of the characters in this story live forever with us as a very put together message of couple's and brotherly love, family and above all hope. I'll wait to see more of all these people as very talented actors/actresses who captured our attention and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I was to use this series as word of wisdom for me as a single mother to knw the right part to take in guidance for my child 🙏 God bless the actresses and actors both the crew, director, script writer and producer who made this beautiful master piece of a drama series y'all really don't knw how great I am. I laughed & cried and learned a true meaning of mothers are the backbone of a family. God bless madam li & jia for portraying the characters so well on what a mother can do for their child (I knw they way they go abt it is not right) but the main point is that "A real mother can do any thing for their child happiness" they're our heroes of this master piece of series they deserve all the love and awards. And to tian your character made realize never give up on ur self never look down on ur self bcoz of who u are, you're strong and powerful don't let's no one downgrade u for who u are thank you for portraying u character so well. Yang thank u for be the best brother anyone could ask for you're one in a million 💗 you're a true definition of what siblings should be the support u give to ur brother (tian) will 4ever be a memorable one in bl drama thank u for the love and happiness you bring to him and the fans who are watching all over the world thank you for trusting and being the best u could ever been. But it's kinda sad to think that after almost 100 years, Tian's dream isn't a reality everywhere. Love is love, doesn't matter the gender. We need more supportive parents who can learn from their mistakes and care more for their kids' happiness than their own plans.
wow, I'm so speechless. This drama really gave me rollercoaster emotions. We've seen many dramas with internal conflicts where the characters fight for power and wealth. Jealousy, betrayal, m*rder, you name it. But this drama... They really took it to another level. The story was so amazingly written and the casts were so goddamn great. The conflict and plot developments were so beautifully written. Yes, many were dramatic, but for me, there wasn't a single thing that happened in this drama without a reasonable reason. Everything that the characters did, even the evil deeds, as much as I hated them, at the end of the day I kind of understand where they came from. Why they did do that. The mistress pissed the crap out of me for almost the entire drama. But again, at the end of the day, I understand why she did that. She wanted her son to be loved and respected like the madame's son. And the madame, yes she did many horrible things that my conscience could never condone in real life. But in the drama, I could see her desperation to protect her son. Given the time they all lived in where homosexuality is something taboo, embarrassing, and disgusting, she was afraid that if Tian's secret got exposed, it would put his son in danger. So she did what she thought she had to do.
But among all the great things in the drama, my favorite thing is the two brothers' relationship. Gosh, they have the most amazing and beautiful brotherhood I've ever seen in any drama before. I love how both Tian and Yang really loved, cared for, supported, and protected each other from the beginning until the end. I'm so grateful that Yang's mother's evil desires and thoughts towards Tian and his mom didn't change Yang's love for Tian. Yang didn't care about her mom's plan to hurt and get rid of Tian and his mom, he just kept on loving and protecting Tian. His love for Tian has always been pure without hidden intention. He was Tian's biggest support system throughout Tian's suffering in that house. And Tian's character was the purest and the kindest soul among all the characters in the drama. He just loved everyone and always put others above himself.
I can write a long essay about how good this drama is. I'm so in love with this drama. The story, cast, plot character development, ending, and even moral messages are beyond my expectations. Definitely give this drama a 10/10😭😭

Debo confesar que hace tiempo que una serie no me atrapaba tanto para vermela en tan poco tiempo, pero esta es la mejor serie que he visto , la amé tanto, tiene dr todo ,y las actuaciones son fenomenales, un guión muy bien hecho, buena dirección,y la química de los actores, es preciosa, como amé! Dónde está el premio de esta preciosa serieeeee? Se merece tantos premios que no me lo puedo explicar. Es simplemente tan bella y me encanta la manera en como dan ese mensaje.
I’ve watched this twice already. Even without the subtitles it’s not hard to follow the storyline. Kudos to the production team and the fine cast. Just like KinnPorsche, casting is everything.

3 days before I finish this series, I'm sure that I will gonna miss the casts and the story itself. I will not forget the rolling emotions that this series gave to me, the happiness, the sadness, being iritated, and being mad. The Director choose the right actors, hands down to them, I'm very amazed on how they act, the quality is very consistent. This series will always be one of the best BL or even drama ever made!! The whole storyline is beautiful and every episode is satisfying to watch. It's 10/10 for me. From the brotherhood which is one the higlights of this series to the relationship. It's perfection✨️🥹 But I'm quite sad bcs I will miss watching this series for the first time again and I miss these two😢. I hope there will be a 3rd drama between Tian and Jiu. Laws of attraction and To sir with love are MASTERPIECE!! All of these actors and actresses execute their roles well. All of them deserved awards for this MASTERPIECE. This is actually what I was waiting for, for a drama. Nowadays most of the dramas are kinda boring (no offense). I want more new series which is ACTUALLY WELL MADE. To sir with love, laws of attraction, I told the sunset about you, Red threads, etc. will always be the best BL made out there!! i finished this in a day, and i must say i was very impressed with how they talked about the taboo, homophobia, family issues, and even discrimintation towards people with different status. this seeies made me laugh, happy, mad, and most importantly made me cry for like all of the episodes, and especially for this last one where i feel like i was crying the whole duration of the show lmfao😭 i am a mess rn, i love LOVE LOVE this so much, they will be dear to me :'))))
i must say again, yang oh i love you so much. and i'm so proud of how strong tian is. their bond as brothers is what left me in awe this whole time.

Desde el momento que vi el trailer sabía que estaría así de buena pero el miedo a llorar me detenía, que bueno que por fin me armé de valor. Definitivamente me arrepiento de no haberla visto antes pero el llanto valió completamente la pena. Es un historia muy bien contada y cada personaje aportaba algo. Amé infinitamente la relación de Yang y Tian. Que Jiu y Tianpor fin puedan amarse sin tener que esconderse de su familia es lo mejor.
Hermosa serie. Estas series bl se están ganando su espacio en el mundo. Muy linda historia.

I've said this before and I'll say it again after watching several times that everyone got back what they deserve by dying in such ways and now I realised that Chan survived because she didn't kill anyone also Father survived because he accepted Tian 💓 I want atleast some of the actors to be there in their next show, I love them so much 💖

This series is really worth watching, very entertaining and full of suspense. Most of the actors are quite good looking especially Ah Yang. He's got a very cute and pleasant face. Wish I have a brother/friend like him. BTW Mr Song is also very handsome. THe costumes and sceneries/backgrounds are also very beautiful. A big THANK YOU to all those involved in this production.
