Awesome rifle! I love Cooeys too. Never heard of the Model 62. I have a beautiful condition Model 60 myself.
Great video and I can tell you love your grandfather dearly.
    Cheers!

What is nice about old guns is that they feel warm, besides look like a piece of art. The new models are like , well you know if you have been around as long as I have. I like you4 Corey rifle.👍👍🇺🇸✌🏻🙏🏽😎

Wow, you scored yourself a rare canadian collectable. I seem to recall reading that the Cooey 62's didn't all come with the front sight ringed. The one that you got there looks correct with the front sight you have. Just gotta find that rear peep sight, and the arpeture for the rear ramp. I've seen them on Ebay in the past. Happy hunting.

I have a Cooey 62 as well. Also my Grandfathers rifle originally. Would love to know more of its history.

Beautiful Cooey, well they all are. It'll be a great restoration project. Love the history and you can pass this one down through the generations just like your grandpas gun. Cheers!

So I have a model 62. I think is original. The man I got it from was in the canadian air force in the 40's and he said this was issued as a target gun for soldiers. My front sight is a large thicker ring with a peep in the middle

Oh my God jealous. Yes the peep was the original sight and yes they were made to be a target rifle. The 62 with the original sights is pretty rare!

Good score at half of what most want for one. I heard about the Cooey briefly but never knew the history, I kind of like the barrel magazine.
The small handful of guns I know were made here are all 22's but it's good to know many of them are reliable.
My PAL should be in soon, I think my first gun will be a stainless steel model Savage 64; cheap and domestic.
I look forward to seeing what you do with that stock.

Exactly that's why I was so excited to find it for that price. I have already finished the stock. Check out my last video. Also funny story on the savage 64. It's based on the cooey design. Before windchester took over cooey Hubert designed the cooey 64. It was made in the original factory until 79. They all the tooling and machinery went to Lakefield and the Lakefield 64b and windchester 64b were made now it's known as the savage 64. Not as reliable as the original 64 though

I bought an old Model 60 to use on the farm as a beater. Have ended up using it more often than any of my modern 22s. Paid $100 Australian. Would buy another one in a heartbeat.
    EDIT +1 SUB 👍
