Dragon Ball Daima is around the corner. It is to be the new dragon ball series that will be featured soley on the web as a new web series anime. With the leaks that have come out, Master Roshi is turning into a kid . This defies a stance that Toriyama has taken on Goku and other dragon ball characters over the years. It's also a dragon ball problem for fans. Qaaman analyzes this in an anime and manga related video about Kid Master Roshi.

Regarding the hair thing, it seems they were not reverted to their old childhood selves, their adult selves were just shrunken down into kid form. (chibified) This is why Vegeta doesn’t have his childhood bangs and Roshi and Krillin are still bald. They are basically just mini versions of their adult forms.
But then he should still have his beard if this is a chibi version.And so should the kids. Is this a curse/wish suppose to make everyone chibi sized or kids? Some look chibi sized like chichi, bulma, krillen and 18 while the ones who look like kids are Mr Satan, Ox king, goten and trunks who are babies. Vegeta looks like his kid self from the broly movie and minus manga. Which seems to be the modern design of kid vegeta. So clearly they’re being turned into kids . It’s just that some of them look chibi sized which is lazy imo.

They are chibi versions, but they still are actual kids as well, just not the same kids they biologically were when they were young. Get it? As far as Vegeta, he was clearly younger when he had the bangs than he was in the Broly film.
@@busymike the kid vegeta bang is complicated. In BOG , he had the trademark window’s peak. While in Super anime and manga, he has the bangs. Kid vegeta with bangs is Toei’s design. With Toriyama direct involvement, in BOG, Minus manga and the recent broly movie, he had no bangs. Toriyama came up with the idea that saiyans keep their hair from birth during the Cell arc. So Kid Vegeta having bangs wasn’t Toriyama’s idea. That’s Toei. Which is why here with his direct involvement, he doesn’t have them. The chibi stuff is probably design choice, so it’s whatever on that part.
They seem more like Chibi versions of themselves rather than kids, specifically Bulma, Vegeta, and Chichi. They don’t look like their original kid designs

Not really, every female he has creeped on has two things... boobs and ass. If they don't have those then it's easy to say that he ain't interested in them. Roshi having hair in those episodes was filler . Toei did their own thing. But with Toriyama and his original manga, it wasn’t there or elaborate . We just know that old roshi doesn’t have hair because he’s just bald unlike krillin who thought he cuts his hair every time it grows for martial arts. Now it seems like Toriyama might be considering that Roshi was always been bald. Would you call it a retcon? Maybe.
Maybe being turned into a kid didn’t magically make his hair grow back. That could mean it could grow back… or maybe he shaves it now going forward.
Bulma's hair didn't change to the style it was when she was a kid either
I liked Roshi's hair in the filler. The subtley of being able to tell it was him from the glasses and his behavior was neat. But then again, Roshi said even in the anime as well that said he's naturally bald, so I guess we can't have it.
I'm more concerned about his beard. Without it he looks a lot more like Krillin -- he's worn the shades too.
I cant believe people are still using filler to claim problems or plot holes in the series, when its filler from Toei. Like so many of these youtubers seriously need to read the manga, some claim to but yet still complain about filler logic not being in the continuity.

I do agree with all this, but I also see that this could possibly become a lord slug situation, but for a good-aligned character. because master Roshi returns to youth, now not weak with age, and he gets to get stronger as said in the video. so, imagine how much stronger Roshi would be in his prime with however many years of experience with martial arts he has, he's already proven himself pretty strong at an old age in the tournament of power.. though he's definitely not surpassing Goku and Vegeta anytime soon, maybe he'll become a bit more active in fights.

What about how everyone excluding goten and trunks hairstyle stays the same even as kids. Goten should still retain the same hair style from the current dragonball super super hero. Trunks hair should still be blue. What about goku and vegeta not having tails as well as children?
Honestly their tails should grow back. A kid Saiyan tails does grow back whenever cut off until they are a young adult. Goten and Trunks however are different and are kinda more close to Universe 6 Saiyans where tails were not needed anymore, most likely because Goku and Vegeta stronger S-Cells as stated one time about S-Cells.
6:47 Roshi likely made a wrong move in front of some space warlord and Gohan's generation was long gone and anyone else was either too weak or nowhere near to stop it...

A cool way to implement master roshi would be some new training like spirtual or flexibility based to make up for the smaller bodies. Like he could recount some younger days where he had to work with less. Gives him something to do, teaches the cast something new to play with, and goes with the idea of focusing more on spirtual then physical strength like they were talking about in dbs super hero
1st issue would be how some people might have issue figuring out the difference between kid krillian and kid Roshi.
2nd he was made as a pervert and we know It... Hard to get around that issue.
3rd... Why do it at all to him? The man is freaking ancient so him still being alive and kicking even if everyone else has to age up normally... Would still oddly work.
I have a issue with some of the kid designs. They have original Dragon Ball to see the original designs the characters had, but Bulma and Chichi look exactly the same they did in super as adults. Its literally the same design as their adult selfs. Same with Android 18. The art-style looks cool, but that's so lazy

A interesting topic I will say about Roshi being a kid lol. Anyway I think Roshi had things under control because No. 18 is dangerous in a way and most likely she have threatened Roshi if he tries anything funny, she will actually kill him by giving him the darkest of death stares. In the Majin arc of Z when he accidentally fell near her breast, he gives a look at her with No. 18 doing a uncomfortable annoyed forgiving look, that scene show's Roshi had things under control for along time but in that moment he couldn't resist so despite when she grabbed his head to almost breaking his neck, he still touched her. You have to remember No. 18 during the 6 year gap she was still considered dangerous. No. 18 in that scene not killing Roshi shows Krillin have told her to not kill Roshi. In Super Krillin have admitted he love her personality which tells how he actually and truly fell in love with her and married her.
That scene is a filler anyway, is not part of the canon. 18 would actually kill Roshi for that.
A bigger issue is the surpreme Kai, Beerus and Whis being turned to kids because of what they are

Honestly, ToP powerscaling was bonkers because characters couldn't kill one another. There was just no way Jiren would lose to Roshi in a real fight, but in the case of a tournament where you can't be lethal? I'd say Roshi used a shortcoming from Jiren to outpace him which was not being used to holding back that much to his advantage.
There are situations which the stronger characters don't hold back, but they're far inbetween.
dragonballz lost the nuance that dragon ball had showing you dont have to be stronger to win. Roshi is one of the most SKILLED fighters in the universe is all. WIsh the story would return to that form or take some tips from hunter hunter.

my original theory which is clearly obvious is that roshi had a much similar upbringing to goku where he traveled the world, did the turtle hermit "chore" training, and after all was said and done before the biggest part of his training, became bald to stay and train further with Mutaitos other pupils like how krillins old school all looked similar. Because roshi is bald in the anime's king piccolo flashbacks. But he does say he had it waxxed, which also might affect his hair growth, and maybe his means of immortality. Weirdly however, Shen (Crane Hermit) has hair in the anime (not sure about manga) and yet was bald in the king piccolo flashbacks besides other flashbacks where roshi had hair too.

Late to the discussion but, after all the gems of wisdom Roshi drops, then of course hits it from the back with one of his perverted jokes, I can't help but feel like your characterization of this wise old man, who's seen the world fall apart back and forth twice, not accounting for the amount of times he's seen borderline world ending enemies come by while leaving him nearly helpless... not great. This old man has seen terrifying crap like King Piccolo, Piccolo, Vegeta, Beerus, Buu and he even took part in the battle between universes for the sake of his homeworld Earth. This man has provided a wide rainbow of personality about himself. I like to think his perversion will become subtle, like the Incredibles example you gave. Ben 10 and Dragon Ball both have the same issues, the writers (or someone else) is fixated on the days when the protagonist's was a child and keep making a excuse to go back to those days. If you want to a tell a story with a child version of the protagonist, just create a new story set in the past.
The writers could of kept adding to the Path to Power continuity and the Ben 10 writers could have new series with 11 year old Ben that tells the story of why he wanted to take off the omnitrix.
I don't see this as an issue, as you already pointed out they could just have pervy jokes about women doting on him and seeing his affection for him as childhood innocence. And as you showed initially he still perved on the women Goku brought to him before his training so it still fits consistency-wise. As for perving on the main cast, all being kids and the fact Roshi never was THAT bad should see he doesn't do it.

To go on about the Bald topic, him having hair as young Roshi in the anime could very well just be a wig too, but it isn't really touched up on and considering he wears a wig in the tournament as Jackie Chun it could very well not be his first attempt at wearing a wig. But I will dial back this statement only for the simple fact that Toriyama has always been inconsistent when it comes to this franchise and he is not perfect, so you'll run into a few retcons here and there if not inconsistencies. That said it can be forgiven. Now about his character? Regarding of what I've seen of other animes and the such, it's perfectly normal to have a teen/child character have a perverse stereotype, as it has been done countless times in western fiction as well because young people often portray as energetic and hormonal. If it's overdone however and distasteful (AKA Bigmouth, I hate this show.) of course it'll be looked down upon. But Toriyama has always had a lot of his works be perverted and edgy for the sake of humor, whether I agree on this or not isn't really a factor, I'm just stating the obvious here. Roshi being a kid changes nothing to me, Japan just be Japaning.
