I TRULY appreciate your hard work, time and money it took to complete such an ACURATE and THOROUGH unbiased review. I wish there were more like this. Hope you do these kinds of reviews on other hunting products. Take care, Mindful Hunter!

I just ordered my first kifaru early today passing up the exo k3 6400....I don't know why but after all the videos I looked up about the kifaru reckoning kifaru bags I didn't see ur awesome video till now. I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit worried and bummed. It sucks so bad that most bag buying is online. The most important thing is to be able to try on packs first. It was in my head to buy the exo in a couple months k3 6400. I'm just so attracted to kifaru. And the fabrics to me look sooo durable and cool. The organizer guide lid with the 3 pockets is the one I got. The lid u showed didn't do it for me when I had to choose. It looked floppy and blah. I got the reckoning 83liters plus 13 for the lid and 14 total for both side pockets but it can extend to 98litere, 13 and the 14. It has a center zip and lotsa compression straps. I just soooo wish I wuda saw ur video. U dud great. Best review I ever heard. I need a serious lumbar pad tho. I have a curve in my spine from arthritis. I've been using hill people gear and they were a mistake for me. I love love their stuff but the Frame and harness is not working. I pray i love my kifaru.!!... I do know every bag fits so uniquely to each person.. but adjusting ur shoulder straps for angles sounds awesome. Im a bigger guy like u. Very similar. I hope all goes well. I wish u luck ND good fortune on ur hunts!! Be well and stay safe sir. Those exos sure have my interest now. Keep doin ur thing and blessings to ya.

Just got back from 3 days in the back country and i had 75lbs in my pack kuiu 4000LT loaded like never before( I know stupid)lol. Had to put 2 gals of water and tent in the meat shelf because we couldn't find water on the mountain (8000feet) and the pack was so loaded out and nothing broke and I thought for sure the zippers would split and I am shocked. Im 6'2 200lbs and it fit perfect but it took little adjusting on the lower pad and straps to get it perfect.
    I had sleep bag
    Sleeping pad
    Sleeping pad pillow
    Jet boil with gas
    Headlamp (18650 batterys 2sets)
    Kuiu puffy paints
    Kuiu puffy jackets

    Kuiu attack paints( on me)

    spaire socks
    Swaro Spotter 85
Tri pod suri with Vx5 head
    Swaro Els on chest
Browning Hells cannon Long range with Big scope on it also..
Plus food for 3 full days
    Kenetrek boots (amazing)
and all the backup battery's and everything else needed plus my Sissy Sticks(trekking polls) that I love.
But you get the drift it was packed and the pack held up and has lifetime warranty so I said F it lol cant say enough about how well the Kuiu pack did. • @MikeLaurin
    @MikeLaurin Před 2 lety +2

I ran the kuiu 7800 last year. The pack looked nice and was light, but like you say, "there's no free lunch". The overall quality of the build was just not there. Maybe this was intentional as they tried to cut weight. On my first hunt I broke two buckles and the pack back developed several rips. However, the main issue I experienced was when loaded heavy (+80lb), the pack would not stay on my hips. It slid down and all of the weight was being held on my shoulders.
I ended up buying the Kifaru Hoodlum, which I have yet to use on a hunt.
Just an observation on your pack selection; did you choose the fulcrum because it is what you already had? Even Kifaru is not big on that pack, although I know Omer loves it. I think the Dahl or Hoodlum would have been a more comparable option to the other packs selected.
Anyhow just my thoughts, keep up the good work!

Great feedback on the kuiu and consistent with other reports I’ve received. And you nailed it. I’ve owned the fulcrum for 5 years. Good stuff. I just found your channel. Any thoughts on the Seek Outside stuff?
I have a similar SG I have had for 5 years now. I agree with your sentiment on the lid, I think its poorly designed and feels "sloppy". I am looking to move away from it due to its lack of organization, honestly which is why it weighs less than the others. Great bag, I just feel like I have never been fully comfortable using it. Though to be fair, SG's selling point is the minimalism.
Also I know Mountain Exo gives a decent military discount (20%?)

I haven't watched the video yet but I'll throw in my 2 cents. Back packs are so dependent on the person using it. I own a SG pack I thought it carried weight well until I tried out an initial ascent pack. Holy smokes was I blown away! They stacked 160 lbs on that IA pack and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We then compared that to my SG with 100 lbs and it SUCKED.
Moral of the story. If it's a high end pack it's high end for a reason. I hear guys rave about this pack or that pack. But if it doesn't fit your body well it won't perform with weight. Does SG make a good pack? Of course! It just didn't carry weight as well for ME.

Mystery Ranch has its fingers in too many markets to put out a really quality niche product. It’s a lot of peoples first or second pack…then they realize how shitty they are.
I laugh every time I watch a Randy Newberg vid where they have the Metcalf loaded. Literally watch it sliding down their backs. All the while Randy is smiling and praising it….that’s what a paid opinion looks like.

Not sure why this is on youtube rather than just a podcast. You are talking about stuff as if we can see it, but you have no video to go with it. If you want this to actually be of value to people you should take the time to reshoot it and get your SD card issues figured out. I'm interested in your take on all of this, but this is of very little value without video.
