- PLEASE READ BEFORE STARTING: For a lot of people, this method did not work unfortunately on some phones with Android 7 (and maybe 6). On Android 6 and 7, unlocking the bootloader is not fully required, since the phone will still boot modified /System, /Boot and /Recovery partitions, but won't boot or allow modified critical partitions. For Android 5 ZTE devices, you should unlock the bootloader, because the Android 5 ZTE bootloaders are fully locked, refusing to boot anything than the Stock ROM.

Warning: This unlocking method might not work on newer ZTE devices with Oreo+ and flagship devices. You have nothing to lose, but it might not do anything.

Of course, it might work on more models that might not be listed here, keep in mind that this works only on budget phones, ZTE chaped out on security in a good way 😉
This method was tested mostly on US and Canadian ZTE devices but if you are in another country such as Australia or Russia, this method might also work, but you will need to try it by yourself.
Do you know how to remove or edit the FRP file partition to reset the file partition to erase google account stored in it with qfil ?
Is any kind of unlocking possible using Linux? One guy said no, but maybe that was for just one type of phone requiring one particular software.

Volume down is NOT FTM Mode. you are providing incorrect information. the standard for recovery mode is power + volume down.

Hey when we get to editing the .bin file, I don’t seem to have offset 007FFE00 so what can I do about this?
If your ZTE device has a devinfo.bin that is only 4,096KB, then this method will not work. Notice in this video, his devinfo.bin dump is 16,384KB; the Z982 and the Z855 which have Android 7.1.1 roms, for example, have a devinfo.bin size of only 4,096KB and the "ANDROID-BOOT!" text does not exist.
What use is unlocking if you cannot install custom roms for ZTE Blade A6 Max?

Make sure you have the appropriate drivers and make sure your phone is in EDL mode.

For ADB yes, but QFIL is only for Windows, because Qualcomm is lazy with their software 😴
