I just got this on a promotion for $55 shipped. I bought it only for the size as it's easy to travel with and use in emergencies while on the road in a motorhome. Thanks for posting this, I bought some power supplies last year with the same types of quality issues and I had to basically finish assembling them after my purchase. I didn't mind for the price but it's a scary proposition for somebody expecting something to work right out of the box. Mine should be here tomorrow so we'll see just how bad it is.

It will be interesting to see if it has the same problems. Hopefully it will be all good or easy to fix.

Man, we're really lowering the bar, here! I was just looking at this online, you saved me from buying one! I have had good results so far from some miniature Chinese welders, they seem to have a high duty cycle and have been good for just basic practice of stick welding "running beads". It looks like we really ran off the road here, though. The ones I saw online had a kind of 220 plug we don't use, but you didn't even get that far! I have bought a few little welders that didn't come with power plugs, or welding leads. I still think some of them might be good for students, and just general maintenance action maybe. Or I hope so! Anyway, good work! I would hope that someone at the factory would see this and try to tighten things up, but that seems like a faint hope indeed.

Looks like a battery charger/starter lol. For a cheap yellow welder I love my esab miniarc 161lts. Fantastic arc on stick and tig. Hell it runs 8th 6010 off 110v power on 8th in gap material and keeps arc lit. Then lift arc tig with valve like any pipe weld in field. Not best for downhill pipe for the 160 amps but for anything else its phenomenal. Better than miller maxstar 161 from personal experience. Stacks 6010 way better where miller struggled to stay lit
