  • This motor was made by Chrysler Outboard Corp in 1967. The model number is 6701. Bought it for just under 100 bucks. It has 63 psi in both cylinders. Other than the fact that it dosen't pump much water at full speed it runs good for being 49 years. To make it pump water it will have to get a gasket between the housing and wear plate.
    Thanks for watching :)

Still plugging away at repairing my 3.5 hp 1967 chrysler. Not sure if or when the drain plug should be kept in, but, it was missing altogether so I'm using a machine screw. Seems to spray more water out when it is in though. Guessing remove when leaving the water for the day.

I am having the same problem on my 1980 Chrysler Sea King 15. I uploaded a video of mines running. When I get on plane it seems the abundant waterflow suddenly stops. I’d love to hear a solution I cleaned the pump housing and changed the impeller.

At higher speeds most outboards will push the water out the exhaust underneath the water line. If the cylinder head temperature is good then you are fine
