Well it was basically Rice Crispies with colorful popping clusters, and thankfully since Rice Crispies is still on shelves Kellogg’s could re-release Powerpuff Girls cereal as “Candy Cluster Crispies” or “Rice Crispies with Color Rocks”. They got to still have the recipe for it somewhere in their headquarters. I also find it hard to believe that Rice Crispies was never mentioned in this video at all despite Powerpuff Girls cereal basically being a variation of Rice Crispies. I dunno if he noticed the similarities between Powerpuff Girls cereal and Rice Crispies while making the video, but it’s likely since he’s a cereal expert.
Besides Rice Krispy Treats cereal, Count Chocula, and Oreo-Os cereal, this was my all time favorite cereal as a kid that was either discontinued or changed to taste less great! I wish they'd bring this back in some fashion. I heard Poppin Pebbles was fairly similar, but I missed that train! There's something about the cereals they're releasing these days that seem less daring and willing to try cool ideas, which is a huge bummer. I'd love to see some new cereals in the stores that really has a cool new idea, or even a re-treading of a really neat older idea.
