Chongqing Hostel in Deep Mountains, Not Accessible by Car

- In 2016, Caicai quit her job and rented a dilapidated house in mountains and started a hostel. Three years of transformation brought her zero income and wiped out her saving, and she even had to mortgage her downtown property. To keep the environment as it is, Caicai refused to mend the road. All construction materials were carried in manually. And guests also have to climb up a 15-minute slope to get to the door step of the hostel.

The best decision they made was to keep the old road. There are many hostels around but if you have to walk to one you know it's different.

这民宿开工时，我居然碰到的😂而且原始状态时还去逛过。距离不远还有山泉水，山顶还有一个具有历史的古庙遗迹。湖水旁夏天有野树莓，哈哈哈，周末会带带小孩去摘。没想到现在修好了，而且居然在外网看到，这感觉真是.......

I just got back to the city from there, I am living in Chongqing city. I could tell you that, if you book ahead, it would be 100% for you to get a room there. They dont take walk-in there.
the view is one of the best for me so far, food is good, the hosts are really nice people, as well as their neighboors.
There is not so much to do, but a really quiet peaceful place to read or just rest. Gotta go back there as soon as I could.
PS: they only speak a little English.

This is an incredibly designed building, I am shocked how beautiful, stylish and modern it is. It is very rare to see a house like this in China. And for this I am filled with admiration for the host.
However, spending 5 million RMB on this is extremely risky. I can't imagine taking such a risk without a backup plan. She said she burrowed money and spent entire life saving to do this. (and is the description correct? she didn't even buy the land?)
I've checked out their rates, it is very expensive for just 1 room, relatively speaking. There are a lot of competitions with that kind of price. I hope they will do ok and be successful. One day I hope I can visit this villa.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but land in China is owned by the government. People can rent it to build houses/buildings not buy. Most vids I come across this channel are usually people buying out old houses/buildings/apartments and reforming them. Probably because they can’t just rent any land as that would be very expensive. But idk I might be wrong.

@@theabrasileno1921 you are right. In China, the rural land cannot be bought, but only passed down to sons within the same household. It's very risky with what they do in this video because one day if there is a developer who sees money making opportunities, the developer would team up for with the local village and county officials to make them leave. But now when I think abt it, I guess this family has some govt connections
