Mu'ammar claims that he has not used his 'English-speaking' for a long-time; and it is a bit rusty. He preferred to use an interpreter.

First of all, I'm a White American who identifies strongly with European culture. But I have a good deal of respect for Qaddafi. Throughout his leadership real results were achieved in improving the lives of the Libyan people. 'The Green Book' was the essence of his Libya; with Islam being more of a veneer in my opinion. It was a system of socialistic nationalism and justice that stood defiant for decades in the face of the globalist new world order criminals.

He did many great things for Libya to help its people. The great man made river, wealth distribution, woman's rights and gender equality, technology, provision of housing. Compared to neighbouring Tunisia and Egypt; Libyan streets were clean, with no garbage lying around. People had pride in their great secular country and they loved Gadaffi. Gadaffi even worked with NATO by giving up and WMDs, handing over former terrorists to the CIA and joining the global war against Al Qaeda.
He was sadly murdered by Al Qaeda ironically with the help of NATO. The streets are a mess, people are much poorer the economy is broken. The rule of law non-existent. Now Libya is slowly being taken over by Taliban extremists. The many people who loved Gadaffi have been silenced because of the fear of torture and death by Al Qaeda zealots.

The GREAT JAMAHIRIYA was NOT a "SECULAR" STATE" !! The Great Jamahiriya held the Holy Quran as the only Law of the Land since 02 MARCH 1977, by public acclamation of acceptance.
Yes, all Libyans love Mu'ammar al-Qathafi, their Holy IMAM and Marabout...and the people themselves held all the authority, through the application of the Third Universal Theory wih People's Congesses and Popular Committees.

@ RASICALISTRO--apparently you never read the Green Book or the Holy Quran...
No!! people OWNED their own homes and farms, etc. and were able to do whatever they wanted with it--except sell it. It could only be given to another relative. There was no selling or rent of properties in a Jamahiriya. Cars and all the necessities of life were totally theirs--Privacy is important...There is no "state" in a Jamahiriya. It is NOT COMMUNISIM...neither is it CAPITALISM. The people, through Committees and Congresses do everything...
You must read the Green Book to fully Understand.

@ ND 7652: Apparantly your knowledge of Mu'ammar al-Qathafi is quite shallow...Mu'ammar is quite different from those other two you mentioned...and there was no "secrets"...and it was the Basic People's Committee that (with the secretariat) made foreign policy agreements (through the will of the Libyan people only). Mu'ammar did not do any of this on his 'own' at all, since 1979. Unfortunately, Saif brought in lying outsiders who 'did not go by the book' and sought foolish reforms which led to the corruption and the CIA's infiltration of the 'Great Jamahiriya' Third Universal System.

This interview as well as Qadafi's deeds show that he was one of the best ruler in the Arab world, along with his hero Gamal Nasser. Many foreign people including Europeans were invited to work in Libya and were provided with decent salaries, good work environment and most importantly the Safety. Today's Libya, on the contrary is a state of anarchy, barbaric acts of violence conducted in the name of Allah and destabilization 'thanks' to the Western powers. I am not saying he was a perfect person and indeed he involved with inhuman acts in his career, however let's be honest there is no a leader and has never been in today's world politics who can claim 'purity' in his personal, political establishment.

+James Burton : Mu'ammar WAS NOT A RULER...Under the GREAT JAMAHIRIYA the people themselves controlled everything. As 'Leader of the al-Fateh
1969 Revolution', a title he retains, he is more what you mght describe as a 'spiritual advisor'. But you comment otherwise is beautiful and very true.

they fought him for his charisma and for his ideas! an Arab leader does not have to be so influential, otherwise he becomes dangerous! that's why Regan called him ''mad dog of the middle east'', he really meant ''how come an Arab rebels against his western overlords?'' the other leaders ( dogs) were well tamed and posed no risk.

    01 December 2014
The acquittal Saturday of deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on charges of corruption and state murder is a statement by the presidency of General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi: that it intends to carry through the counter-'revolution' [FAKE ‘Arab-Spring] and make and make a true Restoration, with no place for the 'Muslim' Brotherhood or any other Wahabi entity.
