- Triangles are the best known and most respected and reliable patterns for trading from the charts. Triangles work for forex, cryptocurrency, commodities, stocks and more.
I put wedges, pennants, symmetrical, ascending, descending triangles all into one category.. which I call simply triangles.
Triangles give no directional clues so you need to look for the breakout. But there are rules, you need to see a shift in volume and wait for the formation of the third candle. Once all these processes take place you can not use your triangle to judge your entry point, your target and your stop loss.

he didnt draw that triangle on xrpusd like he should have. It broke 5 candles before where he says it broke. If you got in at the third candle you got a much better price also. ( not that you could have known at that time but still...) But triangles are great to trade yeah

@@lugombear2269 no, I mean it is, and I still use it. However, I have gone to exclusively trend trading. It has done me much better in terms of income.

@just4head215 I wrote my own script that is based on a 50 bar movement of whatever timeframe you are using to signal when things are in an steong uptrend, uptrend, downtrend, strong downtrend, and neutral.
I have also written a script to show MACD Momentum trends

Definitely agree triangle patterns aren't always "bullish / or bearish" according to common by the books definition. Always look for breakout confirmations, and taking into consideration formation of candle and wicks shapes leading up to the break may help you make a better judgement on making entries.
Also would like to add that you could also ride on your gains by using a trailing stop loss on your profits which can allow you to make maximum gains whilst also being protective of your position as opposed to only selling at a specific target.
@@tantan9035 Who cares what institutions are doing if you are trading stocks with low institutional ownership/interest and very high relative volume? Those are moved by retail traders anyway

hi tk you for the video. I beleve the falsw signalwould not appear if the resistance line of the trinagle was on top of each wicks..this triangle is a ascending wedge which have tednacies to break down just like what happened in your graph.
what time frames do you use and how do you know when and where to start creating triangles?
Does anyone know why traders dont just buy at support. If it breaks down so what if you hit on nearly 50 percent you would do well. Seams to be better than larger stop on breakout. Wish someone could explain why breakout is better.

Yeah same doubt, every time when I wait for 3rd candle in Daily chart, price already went up to the estimated target (assuming price formed traingle pattern in daily TF) and also stop-loss is too wide to enter.

Something I do not get about the fact that you wait 3 candles before jumping in the trend.
At 19:00 min, you showed an example where you wait 3 candles on at 4h chart before trading (= 12h) to avoid false breakout.
Later, you show 3 candles on a 15 min chart (= 45 min)... So how do you know what chart to use?
In the example at 19:00 min, any chart inferior to 3h will get you trapped on the false breakout as it lasted for approx 8h.
I hope I make sense.
Literally doesn’t matter. The price move will be proportional to the base of the triangle. A 15min triangle will have a quicker move than a 4hr one.

How to be 100% successful on symetrical triangle: Don't trade them lol Just saw one today with a 3 candle fakeout. There are plenty of other patterns to wait for that are more accurate. I've tried to trade symetricals like he said accuracy is really only around 52% I'd have to agree.
