For all the other TMJ havers, check your insurance for TMJ covereage and physical therapy coverage. Often, you can have the same type of TMJ treatment done by a physio AND have it covered by your insurance/have it go toward your deductible/use HSA account funds/etc. Pro tip take your own oil or face cream for them to use during the massage. I do this multiple times a year as recommended by the maxillofacial specialist I see.

I had a tmj in mouth massage once and every minute of it I cried, it was so panful! I have had a lot of teeth pulled out but that was not as bad as the massage🥴The massager was very rough considering how bad my tmj is I guess🤔
I bet that facial massage was incredible but if you have prolonged TMJ issues I’d highly recommend going to a physio who can treat it. My physio manually releasing my muscle and some laser treatments have saved me in the past. And it’s usually covered by insurance!

You can actually stick your thumb inside your mouth and stroke with a downward/forward motion across that muscle (light-to-medium pressure) to do Myofascial release on your own TMJ muscles! I’m certified, and people are shocked at how easy it is to do it on yourself. I recommend using a glove though! Even your own saliva gets nasty lol 😝
