To celebrate the release of "Unlike Any Other," I decided to break down the components of my Native Instrument's Maschine video. No chatter, all beats and samples. Pay attention and you'll see how I play up to five parts at a time, using some pretty unique technique. Drums, Bass, Harmony, Vocal chops. This is what I'm up to these days. Trying to develop some brand new music performance styles, utilizing my knowledge of drums, keyboards, synthesis, and music history. Hopefully, the concepts are simple enough for kids to get into, but I'm really trying to impress the spirit of Jaco Pastorius. - Hudba
Getting close to a decade later and still,
Unlike any other...
Da real MVP.
Araabmuzik is the real MVP…that dude is too fast, skilled, and musical all that the same time. Jeremy is good but not Araabmuzik level
@@rafsanrahi2469 Maybe Araabmuzik is fast, but Jeremy already get into next dimension,Maybe you can see some Jeremy‘s live show video
When I fall into a musical slump and can't think of ideas, I sometimes come and watch this video for inspiration. It's so good!!
1 million views! Thanks y'all!!! Extra points go to the people who clicked on the annoying ads: I made about $74 off of you last month!!! Seriously, though. I appreciate all y'all and your kind words!! Haters: you're dumb. I'm serious. You may actually be stupid. Everyone else, you're cool!
make more beats and send em.
Keep it up, dude! This stuff is majorly impressive.
You're Super Sick Bro! So inspired thanks for sharing your craft
Sorry, im kind of a newbie. Im looking to buy an iMac with Ableton and the Maschine MK2.. Do you have to press on the pads to get them to register or can you just tap them? and is a mac or a pc better for music things like this? Im a strictly PC guy so I really don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
supacrazyy2mlr The pads are touch sensitive, so tapping is the way they work, basically. As for the whole Mac vs. PC thing for music design, I really don't think it matters as long as your hardware can effectively process your DAW and plugins. Some of the more popular (and arguably more professional) DAWs are Mac-only, though, which would explain why a lot of professional musicians use Macs. That's at least my understanding. I myself am a PC guy (I run FL Studio and Maschine), so I can't say I know the Mac side of things.
This is CRAZY GOOD! Thank you for giving us a performer's perspective video this really stimulates Maschine practice sessions.
You are a Beast Jeremy! That was straight skillz man!!!
This is a masterpiece, Jeremy. You have inspired me to work on live beats. We have 10 fingers, there is no excuse for a DJ to just press play when we can create live music like this.
More accurately: there is no excuse for a DJ to just press play when he could press play 16 times in a beat!
Ohhh my goddd this is incredible, I need me one of these.
Love the way you break it down Jeremy, top work!
THE HANDJOBS HE COULD GIVE HIMSELFFF..... MIND=BLOWN
+Luka Maxwell Too dangerous, one does not dare. Could damage the, uh - "gear".
Jeremy FINGERS Ellis. You Da man pimp. \\m//
its just FANTASTIC
Dam, so dope, Thanks for teaching, showing and educating us on how you do your magic bro. Its so helpful, not only are your skills an inspiration but, but you show us and help us to get better. It really helps the pad mashing community out. much love
this guy is better than Araabmuzik
umm no?
Mealtime123
when it comes to hand eye coordination, yes, here is far better than araabmuzik. araabmuzik uses max 3 pads for one hit trigger that consists of a loop while jeremy ellis does his synth entirely with his fingers live.
Mealtime123 he definitely is. Araabmuzik sticks to like 6 pads a majority of the time. Jeremy uses the whole damn brick lol. Its almost like hes playing the piano!
Rebirthsouls indeed my friend. Jeremy ellis states in an interview that his whole family played the piano so thats probably where he gets it from.
Definitely!
Him and araabmusik needs to not be compared. Two different styles. Ellis is more composing music as araab is samples. Araab is like the best MPC Dj and Ellis is like the Best mpc musician. Ellis more creativity and diversity and Araab is more speed and the awe of performance. But araab was the first to put mpc on the map as a performance tool.
I like your perspective, but I was in the game years before young buck Araab. He hardly put on it on the map as a performance tool. Well, maybe he did ace it as a "performance tool." Wait. Did I just call Araab a tool? Yeah, I think I did.
You are a paragon artist. No doubt. It's just my perspective. You play it more like a piano and he plays it more like a drum kit. But you know what it's 2 totally different styles of play. I really think the reason why araab got so much credit, is because of his speed. That was his flagship move. Your flagship is actually musicality. If I had to pick one, it would be watching and listening to your performance before going to watch and hear his performance. Respect&bless:)
Jeremy Ellis Yes Jeremy! Smashed it.
brazilian djs are doing live performances of the baile funk music using akay mpc since 92 long time before all nowaday's hardware.
Vinícius Oliveira No doubt. The first time I saw anyone else rocking 2 MPC was a Brazilian guy a youtube. They've been on it for a looooong time. And with so much feel!
Wow. Looks and sounds awesome!
True talent! You've certainly earned your place. Thank you for sharing, I have spent some time with your videos and your explanation of sample layouts and proper technique are priceless. You've sold me on the Maschine...and your EP.
Come play Toronto!!!
He is so fast it looks sped up!
Sounds like the moment on Adult Swim before the next anime comes on.
What a shite comment lmao
i was literally wishing a video like this existed yesterday.. thank you!
J Ellis you are the truth! The beats speak for themselves but your sense of harmonics is impressive also, keep up the good work.
What does his woman feel about his fingers?
Amazing! Thanks for breaking it down Jeremy!
greetings from paris(France, not texas, lol),love the way you use maschine(excuse my broken language, cause I'm french).makes me wanna buy a maschine and doing stuff like you,you inspire me,long live jeremy ellis, god bless
I think having a foundation in playing the piano has a very strong impact on Jeremy's skillset. It's time for me to dust my Maschine Studio off and get into grove. Jeremy you are a master at what you do. A benchmark for others to obtain
Promised this was the last vid for 2day and then I find this nutter's channel. Jesus man...wtf? U r the master dude
I was mind blown when I realized you were playing the drum track manually. Those are superhuman skills!
Love it, can't wait to get my hands on 1 of these, mikro or M2, can't wait to practice to try an get good like this, you inspired me my dude!!
Great stuff Jeremy. Keep up the amazing music.

Jeremy Ellis my friend , your skills ..... are incredible .... cant even think hours you trained and played with that maschine ,... but the results in the end, it is all worth it ... i love it keep the good work :)
Awesome job.
You are my inspiration!!
Incredible!
@jeremyellismusic u haven't drop the rhythm for even a second. now, you a master, Mr. Ellis! Big Up!
BRAVO ! Quelle dextérité , j'admire ton travail !
I can tell right off the bat that you've been playing the drums for a long time. It takes a seasoned musician to make digital samples sound so real and dynamic. BTW I like your sample layout, you had like 6 groups organized by sound so u can run thru the samples seamlessly. Great performance!
Instantly subbed! Incredible job
Unlike Any Other... Fantastic
Moooooonster! :D
Bought that thing because of your performance Video.
Thanks for sharing!
I love you Jeremy Ellis.
Amazing!!
Greatness!
half man - half amazing! please make more vids like this
good work dude!!! All those scales came in handy!
Damn you Jeremy Ellis. I bought Maschine a while back just to do drum tracks for my guitar and keyboard stuff. But since I've seen you do this I am totally obsessed with the possibilities of this amazing box. Beats my old MC505 hands down. Awesome stuff man.
Amazing. This guy is great. I've been using the new Tube apocalypse expansion with Maschine 2.0 and being able to load in unlimited kits is really helpful when you are trying to play live like this.
Lol I think Jaco would be blown away. You are amazing.
James Hanford What Jaco song did he sample????
Dope ! Bravo !
Straight hypnotizing, mesmerizing and NUTS!!!
Thanks for more vids. I've been wondering about this tune. It's interesting to see how it's played. It does give some clue to how it's structured without laying it out completely. It's the difference between the book and the movie. Thanks again Jeremy. Hoping to see you live someday. Perhaps you could come down Atlanta way?
glad i saw this, niceness
