I totally agree, "it's the dogs that make the hunt" i remember my first few pheasant seasons when I hunted without a dog, it just wasn't nearly as much fun as hunting with a dog. I had a chocolate lab that was an amazing bird dog! But he was not a family house dog! He just couldnt calm down when he was in the house! But when he was hunting he was totally different. He made some retrieves that i would have bet good money that there was no way he'd come back with a bird! But he did!!
