Hammer House of Horror started on the following weekend when I started High School in September 1980. My mum let me stay up and watch it on the Saturday night. I watched The House that Bled to Death on a 12 inch BW portable telly and shat myself.
Couldn't and still can't beat Hammer Horror! Part of my life watching them, fond memories even though they gave me a few nightmares! Love this music,so memorable.💟
I was about 8 or 9 when this first came on and watched a rerun when I was a bit older and scared the crap out of me. Brilliant acting, scripts and plot structures. Charles Willoughby ....
Spooky at the beginning, but also kind of sad? Listening as I'm typing and partway through it starts sounding more like easy listening (like Mancini) than a horror theme.
Assisti a quase todos os episódios dessa série em 1982. Foi exibido na Globo nas madrugadas de quinta feira. Ainda me lembro. Era estudante e só assistia aos filmes na companhia dos meus pais e da governanta lá de casa. Todos os episódios me davam medo. Essa música é um clássico. Marcou-me. Obrigado por postar a musica
Somehow as a primary school kid I persuaded my parents to let me stay up to watch these. I recall the Charley boy episode terrified me in the way they only can when you're a little kid .
The House That Dripped Blood was probably the most memorial British film. Out of all the series it certainly was the only one that stuck in my mind as a kid was (House that Bled to Death)
What sort of hotel were you in?! If I heard this in a hotel foyer, after the first guitar doinggggg at the beginning I would run! Great theme tune for horror though.
Friday night 10pm was Hammer House of Horror time back in the 70's for us kids. Some episodes used to scare me shitless lol but a classic nonetheless. Tales of the unexpected was also cool too.
@@drb141719 "Friday night 10pm was Hammer House of Horror time back in the 70's for us kids" Again, Hammer House of Horror didn't air until 1980. You couldn't have seen ANY Hammer House of Horror episodes in the 70s because they didn't exist.
I checked out the series on DVD from my local library. Watched the whole show throughout last October. Classic 80's intro. Very Tales From the Crypt-esque.
great tune. I remember the cannibal episode. Awesome. 70's horror was brill, tongue in cheek and gruesome at the same time. time for a remake of Dr Phibes!
One of the best horror theme songs. At times it resembles an Ortolani score from Cannibal Holocaust which was released the same year as this anthology series.
This is the version released on a single 45 in 1980, and not nearly as good as the original used on the TV series version. Would love to get the original studio recordings of the TV version and all incidental music used in the series.
Assisti muito na Globo e depois no SBT. Ficava vidrado. Muitos anos depois, viajei e comprei os dvds nos Estados Unidos, tenho todos. Engraçado que assistir depois de muitos anos, parece um filme de terror da sessao da tarde.
This sound sent shivers down my spine...if i was in my room sleeping and heard this on the telly i would recoil from the room and go watch rather then get terrified by its sound alone in my room lol
It was on cable tv in Spain in the summer of 98, I only missed the episode where some Brits scam an American woman? All the episodes I watched were great.
The TV to me didn't ever play this the full version as it should be played. It was always a very short version at the start of this classic TV series. When you listen to the short it's not the same and nothing like the full version. Then again that's alot to do with scicor trigger cutting happy people.

Not that I'm bothered, acting was a crap job, compared to being a musician.
Hands down one of the best shows ever made!!!! True horror and great acting at it's best.
And the writing was pretty tight as well. Nowadays, it is not the same.
I thought it was scary. Great series!
Awesome series I hate dat. It was only one season.

Al M awesome

The House that Bled to Death!! Didn't that have a dead cat in the window or something, scared the shit out of me!
@@wimbledonbjj yeah the black cat
Yes, there is sadness in this unforgettable theme
Really love this theme. Reminds me of those days I watched this tv series alone in horror at night. it’s about 30 years ago.

Totally love hammer, and this show totally rocked

'The 13th Reunion' was my favourite episode. Gruesome!
i was on that plane too
Conjures up such a cool relaxing and interesting atmosphere.
I am totally in love with this music. Always was always will be :-) Thanks
Agree
Great theme. Reminds me of a Saturday night after 321. Even had this on a single back in the 80s.
So true.
but it's 28th september thats today
a haunting theme from way back, i once heard this in a hotel foyer whilst on holiday.
I get goosebumps when those strings kick in at 1:16. So perfect. Reminds me a bit of the end theme to The Howling (1981), the Pino Donaggio score.

Também foi exibido na TVS e na NGT.
back when Horrors were good😭
and when Britain was Great
Just saw The Two Faces of Evil and it scared me more than all the rubbish they put out these days
takeaway guru full of British people in Britain - the gold old times
Telly was better then!
Somehow as a primary school kid I persuaded my parents to let me stay up to watch these. I recall the Charley boy episode terrified me in the way they only can when you're a little kid .
Used to scare the shit out of me this theme. That was even before The House That Dripped Blood came on haha
The false teeth in a glass.Couldnt sleep all night
The House That Dripped Blood was probably the most memorial British film. Out of all the series it certainly was the only one that stuck in my mind as a kid was (House that Bled to Death)
I literally had nightmares about the house that bled to death I was about 10!! I love 60s and 70s camp horror now!
My fave theme tune, really nice arrangement, string section at 1.15 is brilliant. Thanks for uploading.
Disco Biscuit Roger Webb was the Conductor (Maestro).
It always sticks in my mind that theme tune of Horror.
The one with the guy with the yellow raincoat still freaks me out. That was childhood trauma on a Saturday night.
Un capolavoro di film e di canzone.
Nostalgia define essa música 😍
Sad yet so very beautiful...
Love this theme, simultaneously is spooky and comforting.
I could listen that all day long
good quality upload, i remember hearing this long ago in a hotel foyer.

@@sperrin i wasn't specifically referring to this episode. Hammer house made various productions and ITV ran a Friday night special for some time.

Found this show on Shudder. Really great episodic horror and very psychological.
great tune. I remember the cannibal episode. Awesome. 70's horror was brill, tongue in cheek and gruesome at the same time. time for a remake of Dr Phibes!
darned right there my friend.
Wow!! what a sublime piece of music, gorgeous!!
unusual and very busy bass line. Nice to hear with this kind of composition.
One of the best horror theme songs. At times it resembles an Ortolani score from Cannibal Holocaust which was released the same year as this anthology series.
Yeah, it's very reminiscent of Ortolani and Frizzi and all those great old Italo nasties.
Yes! Trying to place it and you’ve nailed it!!!
I love this I get the creeps now as when I was a kid
Coming on decades this Halloween 🎃 a marathon.
used to love this

A very sad beautiful love weird strange theme. A classic.
Beautiful
"The House that Bled to Death," and "Witching Time," were my two favorites!
Just watched CHARLIE BOY couldn't keep away from the soundtrack !
I love this theme. Seems more of a love making theme to me.
Gonna try this theory out later lol
i remember hearing this grisly theme in a hotel foyer in the 80's sometime.

I loved the werewolf one!

Theme by Michael J Lewis of theatre of blood fame?
Música extraña donde las haya. :\

show de orquestra ...
Tis very nice
💞🎶preciosa melodia
These shows were messed up!! Still freak me out today, and this music. Something about the old film tricks the mind into it being more real.
Great Theme
As a child I would sneak down stairs and watch this, scare myself to bits and try to sleep afterwards 😂😂
Me 2 was the talking point on Monday in school.
1:04 Bit of bass guitar

As a small boy that episode terrified me. If seemed the most hard-core of horror films
Shall we say Hamer...
Gary Moore in places
