A very different thing to a beautiful Mogadishu of today characterised by robust growth and resilient people. Big hotels are poping up with political stability somalia will be a great investment hub. Where else do we have a natural harbour next to a very busy airport. In less than 10 years somalia will be a must visit destination.
I know that Somalia has come a long way since the late 90s. It sounds like the Somalians have done a great job. But that is the last place I would go on vacation.
Its not as bad as press makes it to be. Hence why over 70 landing and taking off occur in that airport which is more than most African countries. They are now extending and building a brand new modern airport which should be open by 2019

David Halligan Although Mogadishu itself is a fuck hole, most other cities on Somalia are suprisingly safe enough for 2 year old to go roam around the streets in.

Yeah, I've heard that northern Somaliland-which, for all intents and purposes is an independent nation, is pretty safe.
So is the southern Somalian state called Jubaland, it has a very large and well funded special forces and very well trained security force.
