Cool, a Brit that likes yank Football... hehehe, just kidding. I saw quite a few games as I live in the Seattle area and went with my dad and brother. I was around 14 when I saw my first games. Jim Zorn was QB and I saw a few games where he was playing and then on to David Kreig's games. Steve Largent was great to watch, that guy could catch almost anything and he was a really nice guy, I got to talk with him after one game which I thought at the time was really cool. Kreig was a pretty good QB and Curt Warner was a fantastic Running Back. I'm glad we didn't loose the whole team when that shithead owner that I'm not sure I can spell it but I think he was called Bering or something close but boy oh boy was that one super close. That shithead guy isn't what you would call welcome in Washington State after that fiasco but the team was saved by Paul Allen stepping in and buying the team and we got a very good coach that put together a fantastic team. Football is about the only sport I've liked.

WOW!!!, thanks for the reply, and oh yes there are a lot Hawks, in the UK, as the NFL is very big over here now but back then the numbers were very small. I am self confessed Hawks fantaic since childhood I have always worn a Hawks cap, jacket, t shirt when ever I go out. It started when I was kid visiting my sports fanatic, aunt in Vancouver, in 1980. and she introduced me this game I had never seen before and didnt understand but never the less I was hooked. While I was over there I watched every game I could but didn't have a particular favourite team. My aunt subscribed to a number of Sports publications and l saw Jim Zorn on of the cover Football Digest and from that moment on I was Hawks fan for life. They started showing the NFL, here in England in 1982, a 40 minute show, 20 minutes of highlights from the best game of week and rest devoted to scores , news from around the League and educating us ignorant Brits in rules, terminology and all that kind stuff. It was the 83 season that a Hawks game was on , blowing I think it was a 21 point lead and losing to the Chargers. In the intro the talk was about rookie sensation Curt Warner, Steve Largent, and how erratic Jim Zorn's form had been. The Cinderella, story started when we losing at home to the Steelers and Chuck Noll, replaced Zorn, with Dave Kreig and although we lost the game Kreig, ignited the offense and became the starter. After that it was just an amazing ride, first trip to the playoffs and two big wins. No one gave us a prayer against Dan Marino and the Dolphins . I remember before the game they interviewed this young couple, and the girl said "Seattle would have had a better chance if they didn't show up today " I cried when we lost to the Raiders, they just beat us up. I still think if Curt Warner, hadn't torn his ACL, we could have won the Superbowl in 84. In 86 I joined the Seahawkers, a British, run Hawks fan club, they would print a fanzine with news and stats, have a vote for our player of the year, Steve Largent, won it and we presented something to him in person and he was very gracious. To show our support we also presented a British flag to hang in the the Kingdome. My greatest Hawks, moments were finally seeing them play live, over here at Wembley I was seated right behind the Hawks bench. 2nd ,winning the Superbowl, which I freely admit I was too nervous to watch. And number 1, which will never be surpassed the day the late, great Paul Allen, may he rest in peace, bought the franchise from he who shall not be named. PA, saved the franchise and we will be forever grateful to him, a truly great owner unlike his predecessor. Take care, Go Hawks

The 83 season was magical, we reached the AFC championship game. I was a kid and saw bits of it on the weekly highlights show here in the UK. Dave Kreig, Curt Warner, Steve Largent, Kenny Easley are still and always will be my favourite players. Go Hawks

I will never forget that season. I know it might sound hokey, but what they were able to accomplish literally gave me hope when I was going through some really traumatic stuff as a teen. That magical season put the Seahawks on the map and helped keep me going. I will always have a special place in my heart for them. I teared up watching Coach Knox get the game ball.

what a flood of memories this is. So many of my favorite old timers! They did so well with Chuck Knox as coach. was still a long time later before first super bowl appearance. I had stuff from this season when i married my wife, who thought that they were too old to keep and got rid of them. I was a little perturbed. I have a lot of stuff from later times still though. but that year and the year after was so important, as the beginning of the winners. thanks for this video.

As fun as these early years were, consider this....between 1976 and 2011 the Seahawks won 10 or more games five times. Upon the arrival of Russell Wilson since 2012 the Seahawks have won 10 or more games 7 times. Whoever was involved in the potential trade of him to Cleveland for a first round draft pick should be publicly flogged.
