Mandatory? Legally, that can't be enforced. Unmarried men are supposed to go to court to establish paternity and request a DNA test. It's called legitimization. Even signing a birth certificate alone - unmarried - outside of court does NOT establish rights other than financial responsibility. We live in 2024, and everyone is aware that women lie or are mistaken about the paternity of their children.
It's not the responsibility of the state, taxpayers, or hospital to determine who the baby's daddy is. Instead, it's the people who laid up and created the crumb-snatcher in the first place, so fellas, go to court like you're supposed to and handle your damned business.
I say at a safe time in pregnancy and that's when child support starts too

I understand why you feel that way, and I really feel for the guy. But the fact is that the majority of cases, this is not really an issue. We see the scandalous stories, and we start to assume that they are generalized across the board.
The fact is, that 30% of paternity cases end up with the person not being the father. While that number sounds high, we have to keep in mind that this is only in cases where there is paternity in question at all. 70% of the time it turns out to be the father in those cases. This is only for cases where things are so extreme, that they feel the need to get a paternity test.
It doesn't seem as though the data supports that this is a major issue in most cases.
Again, I know it's hard, because we see it a lot, but in the same way that the news shows us extreme stories, that's what we're also seeing on these shows.

women can get a divorce on abandonment easily. men nowhere near as easy. one of my brothers tried to get a divorce on abandonment for 17 years until he passed. different judges kept asking him where she was and she had to be there. she literally disappeared. no death cert, no credit reporting, no social secruity number activity, nothing, which negates assumed death. he passed on christmas eve 2021. she found out in 2023 and tried to take the house that he bought long after she left away from his kids claiming marital property among other things of high value. only thing that saved the kids in court was the records of the multiple times he had gone to file for abandonment divorce. come to find out she had been living off 2 other men's life insurance policies so she never had to work. she had a life insurance policy on my brother too and cashed it before coming. can't rule out the woman in this case still having some type of dealings with the "abandoned husband" on the slide

In some cases when the father is the dad, I still look back thinking girlie seems shady and got lucky! But this one got me- I thought baby was his.
The result was shocking to me. She was sleeping with all those men who were contacting her talking about they all wanting her and that eint his friends. That part is the only thing she got right. She allowed them to disrespect him. Would be interested to know which one of his frienemy is the father. His family sus something off about her. I do hope he finds peace and a good woman.
