  • A REALLY COMMON failure part on the BMW E53 X5 is ripped Driveshaft Boots on the front axle. Catch it soon enough and you can save thousands of $$$ by simply replacing the boots, and not the entire driveshaft assembly. 😀
😬THE problems keep mounting on my E53 X5 project and when I went to replace the front shock absorbers I found that the Driveshaft Boots had torn and all the grease had flown all over the front suspension components - WHAT A MESS! But there were signs that this was a recent failure and rather than replace the whole driveshaft assembly, I opted for the cheaper option of replacing the boots.

Well that's one long and proper way to fix and clean everything on that front end.might as well replace everything you take off with new parts.good job- last time I did mine was a short cut by releasing the inner joint and replacing both boots...
