Nagsisimula pa lang kaming mag-asawa, medyo nalulula pa din kami sa rent (almost comparable po sa mortgage cost nyo). Reliable talaga ang Toyota. I have a 13 y/o small Toyota truck and a 15 y/o compact SUV that run well like new. 103K(truck) and 128K(suv) ang mileage. Binili namin ng bago pareho, paid them off so 9-10 years na kaming walang binabayarang kotse, insurance ay $81 for both, liability lang. Ako ang nagme-maintain sa garahe para tipid, may rampa ako for oil changes and I do most of routine maintenance. Mahal talaga sa California lalo na ang gasolina at bahay pero sa groceries naman, there are many ways to save so it is not bad. Costco membership sulit namin dahil may cash back at mas mura ang gas, we also buy in bulk and wait for sales. Bawas na nga kami sa eat out. My family prefers homemade meals kaya tipid na, mas masarap pa. You guys are on the right track with paid off cars and not trying to keep up with the Joneses. Some of my siblings and relatives are still working in their 50s and 60s when my wife and I were able to retire early. Once house in paid off and totally debt-free, sarap-buhay na. We focused on needs and paid off our house in 15 years(SoCal). We did not buy the latest gadgets and cars and stayed well within budget. We spend on occasional wants kapag Christmas season pero well within budget, and use 2 credit cards for its reward points(to redeem for gift cards), we pay off credit cards in full before due date. We achieved fat FIRE(Financial Independence, Retire Early) in retirement. Now, we do what we want on our own terms and time, and make more in retirement than working through 20 years of hard work. Getting rid of debt and saving/investing with goal of getting out of work bondage is FREEDOM. I think you guys are on the right track to FIRE, especially that there is an accountant in the family to keep track of incomes and expenses accurately. Mukhang matinding pag tatrabaho at pagiipon po yang ginawa nyo para ma achieve yan. I can imagine kailangan mag stay focus talga and iwasan ang mga distractions para marating yan. We refinanced our house 2x from 4.75%, 3.5%, now 2.5% (no closing cost on last refi) and only have 13yrs left, were very happy with our progress.. retirements max out kmi tho bumagsak lahat.. but were not retiring soon so tataas naman din yan. We Just continue dollar cost averaging.. car insurance cguro nga po kelangan namin mag switch to liability, naka comprehensive p din kasi kame hehe 😅. Ours was 3.8% then. Ang ganda ng financial situation at outlook ninyo. Time flies, before you know it, set na kayo for a nice retirement. I subscribed pala dahil may sense of humor mga vlogs ninyo. Hi Roy, we only use 1 credit card for everything. I graduated here na po sa US and unfortunately medyo matagal na ko na graduate and wala na ko maaalala sa NCLEX ko 😓.

Your monthly expense came to 76,600$/ year. That’s awesome. I can sense responsible spending here. I did see an earlier vlog before this and you mentioned “ HSA’s, retirement, 401 K/ 403 B’s etc. Kapag nababanggit yung mga iyon, i know instantly you probably are very conscious with your spending and financial goal.
And by the way, we have similar habits. We go to costco every sunday. My kids love the freebies. We eat the hot dog and pizza there too! Unbeatable prize. We love amazon!
Our yearly expense is around 60-64,000$. I think you both do better. We don’t have a house mortgage.

This 4 books will open your mind. Let it be the compass that will guide you and your young family.
Oh and from one of your vlogs, we are so similar! I married my high school sweetheart! You have an artificial grass in your back yard., we do too! You love planting, my husband does the same thing! More on fruit bearing lang though.

***Some mutul funds, lots of ETFs (low costs). Meron din po kmi stocks actually 😅, mostly tech 🤞. Definitely long term “Set it and forget it.” Dollar cost averaging. Maxing Roth 403Bs (wife Roth 401K) for years, max Traditional IRAs for each of us, and hopefully ma qualify kami this year to fund our Roth IRA this year (income restriction.) We are ROTH couple 😂. All we have is emergency fund sa banko kaya we spend like we have nothing 😂. Really hoping we’re on the right track 🤞. @@Guzman_Family_Vlogs yes you still can. Research on Back-Door Roth IRA. From Kristy Shen’s book Quit like a millionaire, she explains it well on page 128 Chapter 12. If you have access to the library , borrow the audio book version. Easier to digest.
I am not very confident in explaining it as my husband oversees these things. But i know for sure we have Roth IRA’s even with the income limits provided by the IRS.
Still very impressed you are financially literate. Our community is so far behind because of ignorance. Ang sisipag natin mag trabaho pero kulang na kulang sa financial savvy. Sa 20 years ko dito sa America, ikaw lang siguro pangalawang taong na meet ko na you are checking all the boxes to secure your financial future. You need to focus more on that if you can sa vlog mo. Update: so i asked my husband what we actually do. Max out 403 B, max out 457 ( he works with an an organization that contributes with Calpers so his benefit is the same as that of a state employee) contributes 6,000$ each to a ( non traditional IRA, meaning non deductible ) then after 1 to 2 days once the fund settles in, directs Vanguard to convert it to a Roth IRA. Financial bloggers/ podcasters refer this to the Back Door Roth IRA. He said not a lot of people know this. In fact he only learned about it 2 years ago.

Minimum rate varies sa area, malaki po ang Cali I would say between $30-$70. Di po kami Universal life insurance so di ko po masagot yan. Net income depende po sa laki ng kita, mas malaki mas mataas ang tax bracket. Check nyo po latest vlog namin, andun po computation. Thank you po

Hello mam Leilah 🤗. California is so big and I can only speak with the areas I am familiar with. I will suggest cities like Pleasanton, San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore they’re close to asian grocery store (where we go), with good schools, definitely a place to raise a family if you have one. We use to rent in San Ramon and we love it there. Also be mindful that Good locations comes with a price. I think rent there runs between 2.7-3K for 2bed 1bath apartment. Most hospitals po require not only just any nursing experience but must have acute (hosp) experience. I know it sounds crazy (how can someone get hosp exp if no hosp hire inexperience nurses 🤷♂️). Then they will usually end up in nursing homes. Just keep trying send applications to as many hospitals, coz you’ll never know one might answer back. Good luck!

- Employee (cheaper)
- Employee + Spouse

Pag pereho po ang schedule ng mag partners na nag wowork at may maliit na bata (baby-toddlers), kadalasan sa daycare centers po iniiwan yung mga bata sa umaga tapos pick-up pag uwi ng trabaho. Kasama po yun sa mga expenses kung ganon ung situation nung iba. Dati po kami nagbabayad nyan nung nag oopisina pa si misis, pero since work from home na sya, at at pumapasok n sa school mga bata,, di nanamin kelngan non. Binanggit lang po namin yan para ipakita kung sakaling may baguhan n pupunta ng US na kasama sya sa mga dapat isama sa pag bubudget.
Pa bagsak na ang California, 2 taxes ang bayaran sa California, federal tax, state tax..
