Here are some tips: Don’t worry about farming artifacts until about AR 45 Don’t speed through the game, or you might end up like me, being in Inazuma, with no knowledge of artifacts and dying MANY times Talents are important, but not in early game Learn how artifacts, supports, etc work. I’m STILL figuring out, a year later, how reactions and building characters work Don’t be afraid to Co op, and ask questions Play the characters you want, if you like Childe and another character that might lower his damage, but you still want to use that character, don’t listen to anyone. Use the characters you want, not the ones that affect your team. Build more than one team, I’m here, AR 56, one single well working team that I can use. It also helps to have more than one team when you do spiral abyss. Save your primos! Doing a single pull every time you get one doesn’t work well when all of the sudden a character you really want comes out/back These tips apply to all of my issues that I had playing for the first time, but hope they help! I’m so down to co-op with you! I’ve mained and struggled with Childe since I unlocked the gacha feature. He was my first 5*! His skill takes a bit to get used to and learn how to manage, but he’s a reeeeeally fun character once you get the hang of his kit and what team to build with him. But tbh, you don’t need to worry about that too much atm. The beginning is about learning and having fun. This was also my first gacha game, so it made me laugh at how confused you were, because I CAN RELATE. I was INTIMIDATED by it and it took me literally forever to understand how the gacha part worked. If you ever wanna co-op, I’m so down to help with bosses and domains and offer any advice! Co-op is my favorite part of the game. You meet lots of cool people! 😊

dropping some help for griffin here, in case he hasn't figured these things out yet! character leveling up ( 16:42 ): you can hold the R2 button to use more than one exp page at a time when leveling up a character, it makes it much quicker to level up a character regarding constellations (aka c0 to c6): the "c" stands for constellation, which shows how many times you've gotten the character, when you first get a character you start at c0, if you get the character again and activate the constellation in the "constellation" menu then you will be at c1. This goes up until c6 - which you will need to get the character 7 times to c6 a character. The term you're actually thinking of it "ascension level" which are the diamond/stars you were referring to when leveling up/ascending Tartaglia! wishing: you check your pity by counting how many items are listed in the "history" menu (wishes might take some time to show up on the history menu), you are guaranteed to get a 5 star character (the wishes that are gold) every 90 wishes - after your 75th wish the rates of getting a 5 star increases up until the 90th wish. The first time you get a 5 star character on an event wish banner you have a 50/50 chance of getting the character on the banner OR a standard 5 star character (Diluc, Jean, Qiqi, Keqing, Mona or Tighnari), if you don't get the character on the event wish banner you are GUARANTEED to get the character on the event banner within your next 90 wishes. It costs 180 wishes in total to guarantee to get an event banner character - which is 28,800 primogems all up. Once you get a 5 star character your pity resets to 0 Tartaglia's elemental skill: he has a unique playstyle compared to other characters so it's understandable that there's the initial struggle to get the hang of a character like Tartaglia, especially when you're a newer player, so i'll try to do the best i can to explain it for you. His elemental skill (R2 button) will change his weapon from a bow to hydro daggers, you dont use his elemental skill like other characters - pressing R2 once will change him to his hydro daggers (known has his melee stance) and pressing R2 again will change him back to his bow stance. So i'd recommend pressing R2 to change to his melee stance and fight with his hydro daggers for roughly 15-20 seconds before pressing R2 again to switch back to his bow stance, then you can either switch to use a different character while you wait for his cooldown to end or fight in his bow stance, that part is up to you. But after 30 seconds in his melee stance he will automatically switch back into his bow stance but the cooldown until you can use your elemental skill again will be longer (45 secomd cooldown) than if you switch back yourself at around 15-20 seconds of being in his melee stance.

I just started genshin a month ago and I knew before I started via the character demos that I wanted Tartaglia the most (and Yae Miko) so I feel truly blessed to have started when both of them happened to be running concurrently. I have them both and they are never leaving my team, I am absolutely a childe main, I can’t stop using him! Congrats for getting him Griffin and thank you so much for what you do!
This was just incredibly wholesome and im so happy for you that your boi came home! My biggest recommendation when you find you want to start upgrading and farming and etc is to have a quick look on either yt guides or (insert characters names) main's redit for the characters you want to focus on, but just make sure your having fun!
