Felt this story was incomplete. I know a feature of good science fiction short stories is to stop early and let the consequences hang in the readers mind to marinade. But this one had a couple of different threads that I felt like didn't come together and stopped too short. Perhaps I didn't pay enough attention as I listened (I'm more of a reader than listener). The mechanics of the story were good as always and some good ideas, But was not a fan of this one.
This story is part of a series, John. The precursors are "Singular" and "To Geddes," two of my earlier uploads, and I fully intend for there to be more installments, which is probably why you had the sense that it might not be complete. The struggle for me as a writer is that half of my stories will always fall below my average effort 🙂Best I can do is keep the bar high!
