I think it should have a character on this screen but I don't see anything either

Who's the character on the thumbnail? Never saw him during my playthrough.

What character ? There is a character in the thumbnail ? I only see stats and a free space on the left.
Anyone else think that Say'ri being shown as a Myrmidon in the trailer as kinda funny? She looks kinda weird in her non-Swordmaster attire.
Not only that, was the attack animation different?

I'm currently playing Fire Emblem for the GBA and just love the whole system. I always try to train the characters I like most, which is not very strategic but gives the game a much more personal feeling.
God so much to dig into really excited for this.

That has got to be one of the best trailers for a strategy game ever. So informative, yet it really just scratched the surface of the depth of challenges and options to counter those challenges available in the game.

@Oscar K yes, it takes place on the same continent, but Awakening takes place in the future. That is why Chrom knows the name Marth, since he is Chrom's ancestor. You don't need to know the story of Shadow Dragon to play the game though.
I actually played Scared Stones when it come out. Man those was some good memories back then.
I got one last week and Fire Emblem should be coming in the mail on Tuesday! :D

@master9728 The Lord class traditionally promotes to the Great Lord class which is a mounted unit with mostly rounded stats.

It came out today in Canada.
Maybe, but there are also 'Reaver Weapons' that reverse the weapon triangle if I recall, so it does get quite complex here and there.
Of course, it could also just be his stats are just so high that brute force is all you need to win...

It will release sometime in April. We don't know anything more precise than that yet.

Some sorta good news!!! Apparently some USA Game-Stop Stores might also ship the game early as well, but that is a rather low probability sadly.
Its currently unknown if the E-shop version will be made available earlier in response to the street break.

Wow they really added some new features to the classes. You can change them now. I missed the Wii version, but otherwise this feels very new to me. Awesome to see. Will be picking this game up for sure.
The class System seems like the job system from Bravely Default? not the advanced classes, but bringing in skills from previous classes

This might be a stupid question, but can My Unit/Avatar change their base class from tacticians to any other class like a myrmidon for example? Please! I've looked everywhere and no details were discussed on this whatsoever. Thank you for your time.
I'm excited,this will be my first fire emblem ever,I hope its as good as the reviews say it is.
Each character has a certain set of classes they can change into. For example, Sully can change into cavalier, myrmidon, and wyvern rider trees. It greatly expands her options, but she'll always be a physical unit. She doesn't have the option to be a mage and will never replace one or a healer.
Personally, I like the idea since it gives each character more options, but every character cannot play any role.
Fire Emblem is AMAZING. The new ways to play with friends and rivals plus the DLCs will make this the best one yet!!
You can go for dark knight, which has a higher emphasis on magic but still uses swords and is mounted, and as an added bonus then you can pass on lifetaker to Morgan which is normally male only.

This chess game has a story to it and isn't just play to improve. Its like experiencing a story in a book. You get to go through the chapters and feel the story and guide/tell it!
Now that's an understatement! 190 hours in and no sign of stopping :)

Even though Nintendo has seen some darker days with few great games on the Wii and such, games like these make me always make myself buy Nintendo consoles and play their games.

I've just noticed something about the game art cover that people rarely found. Kellam is on the box art cover... but if you look closely... his face is covered by "Marth's" sword, and he's way at the back. I found it funny.

This game reminds me more and more like Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions which was an amazing game. Once you dove into the game it is not "complicated" but just an amazing tactical experience. I see this being similar.

He's one of the best units.
This is so much more customization than I've seen in any other Fire Emblem game. I've only played Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, but still, this looks fantastic. The replayability for this game is going to be insane.
So...if you change from and advanced class back to a base class what happens to the characters stats?

yeah, the embassadors program, i did get those games, but they should seriously put on the vc and they should also put snes games as well.

I love my physical copy. I pre-ordered to get that artbook, the boxart+boxcase and other stuff in it. What I regret is not getting the bundle and not living in Europe because they're getting the Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS XL bundle... >_<
Oh well, I'm still enjoying the game! Already put more than 100+ hours into it, but I'm sure there are more people who've played it a LOT longer than me! (Not counting the people who own the Japanese copy)
It doesn't replace the ability to do criticals. In fact, in Radiant Dawn, you could get criticals WITHIN astra attacks.
That's an understatement, you CAN'T stop playing.

Something I only realised recently: Nowi as a Dark Knight has freakishly high Defence(60% growth!) by magic-user standards. I am so trying that.
