This is quite the unexpected product for Peak Design to create but as far as a minimalist wallet goes, it's pretty solid with options to stick to my Everyday Case BUT...I really just used it as a standalone wallet. For the minimalist pros, what do you think about the Peak Design Slim Wallet?
Spoiler alert: You are not supposed to cram 8+ cards into it plus cash, just because you somehow managed to do it, doesnât mean itâs supposed to be that way. Using it optimally would eliminate two negatives right from the get go. The max number is 4 with 3 cards being the best ratio between being slim and useful.
Agree completely miminal wallets are exactly that they are not meant for as many cards you can fit. Throws off the mechanism system for sure. 4 cards is a typical amount for minimal carry
LOL true. Let me just jam more cards than suggested and complain card dont spread evenly and spill out
I was going to buy this just for a paper multi-day metro pass when I travel but you saved me, I don't want to take a risk!
When pulling the tab out, flip it over to the back. There's a magnet in the back that will keep the tab there. Then, it's easy to grab to close the wallet when the cards are back to the bottom of the wallet.
Great tip! Forgot to mention that as Iâve done it on a few occasions. That said Iâve found that in scenarios where I need something quick, I often forget to do that. Also when the tab is fully extended out, thereâs nowhere for it to rest backwards and when pushing the cards back in, thatâs where I can run into trouble.
Try putting the number of cards they say it holds instead of overloading it. Maybe it will spread as deaigned then?
I agree about rarely keeping it on the phone but would love to know if the tripod sticks to the wallet!?
Yeah it sure does! I finally managed to test it and it sticks well together. I can see that being a useful combo because Iâm always wishing I had my mini tripod with me.
Isnât the whole point of MagSafe and MagSafe wallets is that they are intended to go on the phone and be used with the phone. If you donât like that system why not just buy a regular non MagSafe wallet? Confused
@@Paa375because some folks value flexibility? You can own a MagSafe wallet and just put it in your pocket like a normal wallet sometime. like⊠itâs fine lol. Even if someone uses it that way 99% of the time they still may value being able to slap it onto their phone. Not sure why that needs explained. I keep mine off of my phone about 50% of the time because I simply donât like how it feels when using my phone.
If I put my Presto card on the outermost side can I tap it on the TTC readers without taking it out?
I haven't tested that yet so TBD but if I were to do it, I'd have it on the front side of the wallet (away from the magnet). I can see it working since the fabric there is quite thin.
Can I use the peak wallet with pitaka mag safe case cuz I dont feel like buying necw case only to use the wallet althought is dammn cool
Yes, it's totally compatible with other MagSafe cases!
Only thing I wish for is a small pocket for an apple AirTag. Iâm kinda prone to losing things.

Also I see it comes to $110 Canadian with taxes and shipping (Iâm also from Toronto) do you think itâs worth it? I need a new wallet and want the option of MagSafe and just a decent smaller wallet too that holds 5-7 cards. I have no parking slip but itâs good to know it would wipe it out. Thanks!
Yes this wallet works with any MagSafe cases. Itâs definitely an expensive wallet for what it is. I say if you like having your wallet attached to your phone and are a fan of minimalist wallets, itâs worth considering.
Would those cards slip out when you shake the wallet
They wouldnât because the magnetic flap closes up and holds everything in.
someone know if the case with the loop holds the wallet for axample as good as the case without the loop?

I have the loop as you know and the wallet sticks to the case quite well. The magnet is strong. I would imagine the same strength without the loop.
Trying to put a large wallet's worth of cards and cash into a minimalist wallet sounds like the wrong philosophy of use for this wallet.
As a true minimalist, who carries just ID, Debit card, and credit card + 2 notes, it seems perfect

If you need to store 8 cards, the MagSafe wallet is not for you, go for a actual purse.
MagSafe wallet is meant to be on the go like for a short lunch and dinner, without grabbing a lot of things in your short pants, etc. Not for the occasion like for a trip which you will required a pouch to store your purse, airpod, power bank etc.
Example of MagSafe wallet usage: going out for a quick lunch with colleagues, thatâs it. Neat and tidy.

My slim wallet has shitty magnets, apple wallet is glued to my phone if i compare them..... never peak design again!
Are you using a Peak Design Everyday Case or attached to a naked iPhone? Iâve definitely found that the connection is really strong within the ecosystem so itâs amazing against the Everyday Case. On the phone itself itâs just ok. I think the big value prop of using PD is that theyâve improved the magnet strength but their array is different from Appleâs magSafe which I find pretty weak with most accessories.

Why tf are you cramming several times the amount of cards a literal slim wallet is designed for then proceeding to complain that itâs not working well as if itâs an inherent design flaw?
