Chennai-based rock band Oorka delivered a high-octane performance with their acclaimed tunes at Orange Festival 2019
Oorka, is a four-member, high energy Tamil rock band from all the way down South namely, Chennai in India.
Oorka, from its inception in 2014, is known for its ‘DIY style’, ‘Plug N Play’ concerts in suburban and village
provinces- not to mention, impromptu performances on several beaches and even the streets. Oorka has also rocked the stage in bigger shows and music festivals and had massive response in connecting with the masses.
True to their name ‘oor - ka’ (shortened from ooru-kkaaga, meaning ‘for the people’), Oorka is popularly known as the ‘common man’s band’. The debut album of Oorka was released on 29th Feb 2016, which is incidentally the ‘First Tamil rock album’.

from the album as the ‘Track of the week’ on
13th March 2016.
